Dit pension is gevestigd in een prachtig 17e eeuws losstaand huis in het hart van het historische Normandische dorpje Stansted Mountfitchet. De kamers hebben een individuele stijl en een topkwaliteit inrichting.

Het pension ligt op slechts tien minuten per auto verwijderd van luchthaven Stansted en op drie minuten wandelen van het treinstation Stansted Mountfitchet. Het hotel ligt in het hart van dit historische dorpje dat vele huizen heeft die uit de 16e eeuw stammen. Er is een voortreffelijke selectie restaurants op slechts enkele minuten wandelen van Chimneys, met onder meer vier pubs, zes restaurants en vier afhaalrestaurants. Of u nu op zoek bent naar een ontspannend uitje in dit prachtige gedeelte van Engeland, of als u gewoon in de buurt van luchthaven Stansted moet zijn, u zult er zeker van uw verblijf genieten.

Het hotel beschikt helaas niet over een lift.

Restaurants en cafés

Traditioneel Engelse rustieke inrichting. In de wintermaanden is er een knapperend vuur in de open haard. Frisse witte tafelkleden en servetten. Er wordt een uitgebreide selectie bij het ontbijt geboden, waarbij verse lokale ingrediënten van hoge kwaliteit worden gebruikt. Het complete Engels ontbijt biedt onder meer lokale worstjes en spek. Er wordt tevens een continentaal ontbijt geboden met gerookte/gegrilde "Manx Kippers" (gerookte zoute haring), Poached Smoked Haddock (schelvis) en een selectie aan ontbijtgranen, fruit, yoghurt en ingemaakte vruchten en marmelade. Er wordt rekening gehouden met speciale dieeteisen, mits dit bij het reserveren wordt aangegeven.

• Annuleringen: Bij annulering tot 1 dag vóór de aankomstdatum worden geen kosten in rekening gebracht. Bij annulering daarna of indien u niet komt opdagen (no-show) wordt de totale reservering in rekening gebracht.

Aangezien Chimneys is gevestigd in een 400 jaar oud gebouw dient u rekening te houden met steile trappen en lage balken in sommige gedeelten van het gebouw. Routebeschrijving

By Car - Take junction 8 on the M11, signposted to the A120, Hertford, Bishop's Stortford. - Take the exit off the roundabout signposted Hertford and Bishops Stortford. - Go straight across the first roundabout and continue along this road until you come to another roundabout. - Take the 3rd exit, signposted B1383 Newport, Mountfitchet Castle and Audley End House. - Continue for about one mile on this road and you will enter the village of Stansted Mountfitchet. - You will pass the Old Bell Public House on your right, go down the hill and up the other side. - At the top of the hill you will see a right turn for Chapel Hill (B1051, signposted Elsenham). - Chapel Hill is immediately before the Total Garage. Turn right into Chapel Hill. - Go down Chapel Hill, passing the fire station on your right. - At the bottom of the hill you will come to a pedestrian crossing, and the Kings Arms Public house. Turn left and you are now in Lower Street. - Continue along Lower Street and when you approach the fork in the road (Flutes Wine & Tapas Bar will be in front of you), take the left-hand road and Chimneys is the 3rd house on the right. (If you are going up hill by the traffic lights you have taken the wrong road). Overnight parking is available for guests on the gravel drive immediately to the right of the house. (Look out for the brown tourist signs for Mountfitchet Castle which is situated at the end of Lower Street, in the village of Stansted.) By Rail: Take a train to the Village of Stansted Mountfitchet (please note this is not the same station as Stansted Airport). Chimneys is located approximately 200 yards' flat walk from the station. If travelling from the south (London Liverpool Street), as you alight from the train leave the station and walk down the road past the Saab garage and towards the main road. Cross this road outside the Kings Arms pub at the Pelican Crossing, continue straight ahead along Lower Street. If you go up a hill you are going the wrong way. Continue along Lower Street past the Queens Head, cobblers, newsagents etc., and you will come to a fork in the road, with the Flutes Wine & Tapas Bar on the corner. Take the left fork and Chimneys is the 3rd house on the right. From the North (Cambridge, Stansted Airport): As you alight from the train it is easier not to cross over the foot bridge but to exit the station next to the waiting room and walk up the ramp (this will avoid the stairs). When you get to the top of the ramp, cross over the road and turn left, walk over the bridge and down to the crossroads. Turn right and you are now in Lower Street. Walk past the butchers and Bada Bing Italian restaurant, and when you get to the fork in the road with Flutes Wine & Tapas Bar in the corner, take the left fork. Chimneys is the 3rd house on the right. (If you are going up hill by the traffic lights you have taken the wrong road). Trains to Stansted Airport stop at the village every half hour between 05.42 and 08.09 and then run hourly at 5 minutes past the hour. Journey time to the terminal is 5 minutes. Trains from Stansted Airport tend to run hourly at 33 minutes past the hour, a few extra trains run during the evening rush hour. The journey takes 5 minutes.
