In Llandovery, on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons, amid rolling hills and spectacular scenery, this historic hotel combines traditional charm with modern comforts, including free Wi-Fi.

The Castle Hotel is conveniently located next to the A40, in the heart of Carmarthenshire, known as 'The Garden of Wales'. Llandeilo and Builth Wells are only a short drive away.

Free on-site parking is available for guests.

The Castle is a charming traditional town centre hotel with 20 comfortable en suite rooms.

The cosy bar features beautifully preserved original features such as real log fires and exposed wooden beams. The bar offers home-cooked meals and Carriages Restaurant offers a superb menu, with delicious roast Sunday lunches from the carvery. All the food is lovingly prepared by the chef/proprietor, using fresh locally sourced produce and served by the friendly team. When the weather is fine, an al fresco lunch can be enjoyed in the courtyard at the front of the hotel.

The hotel has significant historical connections with Lord Nelson and the writer George Burrow.

The ballroom is licensed for weddings, parties and conferences for up to 150 people, with smaller rooms available for meetings and dining parties.

The hotel is in the heart of the bustling market town of Llandovery, renowned for its coarse and game fishing, with great fishing all around. The Towy and the Cothie run through the town, and are famous for their salmon and trout. Carmarthenshire is known as the ‘Garden Of Wales’ and there are many garden attractions in the area, including the National Botanic Gardens, Aberglasney House and Gardens, Gelli Aur Country Park, National Trust Dinefwr Park and Forestry Commission forests. Red Kites fill the skies and the Llyn Brianne Reservoir is nearby, making the area a walking and bird-watching paradise. There is a Red Kite feeding station only a short drive from the hotel, which is open all year. For maps and guidebooks, the local history and tourist information centre is adjacent to the hotel. The area is also superb for keen mountain bikers, with many trails in the Brechfa Forest and the Afan Forest Park, which is only about an hour away. Brechfa Forest has trails for all abilities with green, blue, red and black trails. The Forestry Commission Wales' Afan Forest Park is the fastest-growing mountain bike area in Britain and is located only minutes from the M4 motorway. It’s perfect for those wanting to reach a variety of fantastic riding fast. With 4 superb flowing trails and more all-weather single track than any other MBWales centre you simply have to check it out.

By car: - Llandovery is located in mid Wales on the main A40 between Brecon and Carmarthen, an hour's drive from the M4 motorway, Cardiff and Swansea. - The Irish ferry connections are about an hour and 30 minutes away. By train: Llandovery Railway Station can be found on the Heart of Wales line, running from Swansea to Shrewsbury, with connections to all major cities.
