The Tudor Farmhouse Hotel is situated in the historic village of Clearwell, just 250 metres from Clearwell Castle, on the fringe of the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley. Deep in the heart of the natural beauty of the countryside, the hotel is surrounded by immaculately kept landscaped gardens and 14 acres of fields.

The building's stunning original features include massive oak beams, original panelling, an oak spiral staircase and a large, rough stone inglenook fireplace in the attractive lounge. The 20 en suite rooms have been refurbished in a traditional style without compromising the structure's beautiful historic charm. Each room offers sensitively incorporated contemporary comforts and facilities, including tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels and wireless internet access.

Great pride is taken in the standard of comfort and hospitality on offer in every aspect of the hotel, from the candlelit restaurant to the 20 well-appointed en suite double, twin and family rooms, some of which have 4-poster beds or jacuzzi corner baths. The restaurant offers an intimate and comfortable environment alongside superb food from an extensive à la carte menu. Private parties can also be catered for and business guests can hold meetings in the function room, which has a capacity of up to 25 guests.

With mature gardens and a terrace area in which to enjoy the country air and views, the hotel can also offer 14 acres of grounds to explore. The grounds have been designated an area of Special Scientific Interest due to the rare and varied flora that can be found on the banks and rock outcrops.

Restaurants en cafés

The award-winning candlelit restaurant provides a relaxing and comfortable environment in which to enjoy a superb meal. The hotel has now been recognised for its culinary excellence with 2 AA rosettes. The restaurant offers an excellent selection of dishes using ingredients sourced, wherever possible, from local suppliers and including produce from the hotel's own gardens. Special dietary requirements can normally be accommodated and there is a special menu for children. In good weather, guests can eat outside in the garden. Private parties are welcome by prior arrangement and booking is recommended for all occasions to avoid disappointment. The restaurant is open daily for lunch until 14:00 and for afternoon tea until 17:00. The restaurant is reopened at 19:00 for dinner.
