Combe House is a stunning country retreat in a quiet wooded valley in the Quantock Hills, England's first Area of Outstanding Beauty.

The hotel offers comfortable accommodation in 18 luxury en suite rooms, including single, double, twin and family rooms. Each of the rooms is individually decorated, with its own unique character and charm. The hotel also boasts a range of on-site facilities including a heated indoor pool, a sauna and a tennis court.

Open daily for lunches, afternoon teas and dinners, the award-winning restaurant uses the finest, freshest seasonal produce available locally to create mouth-watering dishes.

The magnificent countryside of the Quantock Hills provides wonderful scenery and a great variety of short and long walks of varying degrees of difficulty.

Restaurants en cafés

The restaurant, recently refitted with specially commissioned handmade Cornish oak and walnut furniture, is where breakfast and dinner are served. The menu draws on recipes from all over the world, gleaned by the head chef Laurence Pratt from 15 years of service in the Royal Navy, where the VIPs he served included royalty and Heads of State. Though the menu has an international flavour, most of the ingredients are from Somerset. Meat and game come from local farms and shoots, fish from Brixham trawlers, shellfish from the Bristol Channel and many vegetables from the organic kitchen garden within the grounds. Light lunches are served in the bar as well as on the lawn in fine weather, and there is a comfortable lounge for morning and after-dinner drinks.

Routebeschrijving

By Car - From the North, take exit 23 off the M5. - If coming from the South, take exit 24. - Alternatively, enter Bridgwater from the A38 or A39. - Drive through Bridgewater following signs for Minehead A39. - Holford is then about 11 miles past Bridgewater on the A39. - Passing through the village of Nether Stowey, you then reach Holford, turning left immediately in front of the Plough Inn and following the lane through the village. - Bear left at the fork signed to Holford combe. - Drive straight up the combe and the hotel is at the end of the road on the right.
