Situated at the foot of Mount Helvellyn, in the heart of the Lake District, this former 17th century coaching inn boasts spectacular views toward St Johns in the Vale, Blencathra and Skiddaw.

The King's Head Hotel is perfectly situated close to the shores of Lake Thirlmere and within easy reach of walking routes, including Helvellyn (right behind the hotel), as well as all the main attractions in the nearby Lake District towns of Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick.

With 17 en suite bedrooms, comprising of doubles and twins, all with views of the surrounding fells, the King's Head also features a Lakeland Speciality Store offering a wide range of local food, drinks and gifts from the finest Cumbrian producers.

The award-winning St John's Restaurant serves a 4-course seasonal menu of traditional English cuisine, prepared by the Head Chef. The recently refurbished Bar Restaurant also serves a range of traditional favourites, accompanied by local real ales, fine wines and malt whiskies. All meals are provided using the freshest local produce.

• Annuleringen: Bij annulering tot 7 dagen vóór de aankomstdatum wordt een vast bedrag van GBP 40,00 in rekening gebracht. Bij annulering buiten deze termijn wordt de eerste overnachting in rekening gebracht. Als u niet komt opdagen (no-show), wordt de totale reservering in rekening gebracht.

By Train: From the North: Take the train to Carlisle and transfer to the Number 555 bus for Lancaster from outside the station, asking the driver to stop at The Kings Head Hotel at Thirlmere. From the South: Take the train to Windemere and transfer to the Number 555 bus for Carlisle from outside the station, asking the driver to stop at The Kings Head Hotel at Thirlmere.
