In the quiet rural hamlet of Barton Bendish, in the centre of the beautiful south-west Norfolk region, the Spread Eagle is a traditional village inn, with tons of character and charm.

The Spread Eagle Inn offers great hospitality and service, as well as comfortable accommodation in the inn's recently converted barns and outbuildings. The excellent food and wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks make the inn popular with locals, visitors and guests alike. The en suite accommodation features contemporary furniture alongside authentic traditional charm. Rooms are serviced daily, have controllable heating, flat-screen TVs and tea/coffee making facilities.

The restaurant has received an AA Rosette and offers modern British cuisine made with the finest, freshest seasonal produce available locally.

The Spread Eagle is a true country inn in lovely picturesque surroundings. With great food, traditional charm and comfortable accommodation, the inn is a great place to enjoy a break away from it all.

The inn's location is quiet and peaceful and yet convenient, with good access to the region's roads. There is plenty to see and do in the area, with the north Norfolk coast only 40 minutes' drive away and the beautiful market towns of Swaffham and Downham Market only 10 minutes away.

There are 2 separate rooms in the restaurant. The round table room has one large round table that can accommodate up to 13 diners and is perfect for parties and celebrations. The main restaurant is on 2 levels, separated with a hand rail. This area is great for intimate dining or it can accommodate large parties of up to 23. The main restaurant area offers a fine dining experience and is decorated in keeping with the character of the building, with bric-a-brac and wall plates. The crackling log fires will warm you in the winter, whilst in the summer, meals can be enjoyed outdoors in the large cottage garden.

The Spread Eagle Inn is renowned for its food, both locally and throughout Norfolk. The restaurant offers fine modern British cuisine, freshly prepared and cooked. Wherever possible, dishes are made using the finest, freshest produce available locally. The menu changes on a monthly basis to reflect the best seasonal ingredients in the region. The restaurant has received an AA Rosette for the outstanding preparation of its food and the good quality of the ingredients it uses. The restaurant has made the inn a real destination venue. The restaurant is open for lunch from Thursday to Sunday and in the evenings from Monday to Saturday. Booking is advisable, particularly at weekends. The Barton Bar is a great place to relax, eat and drink. The bar offers an extensive range of fine wines, real ales, cider, larger, spirits and soft drinks. Light lunches and a full à la carte menu are available at lunchtimes.
