Set in Portumna, these newly built, contemporary style apartments provide the ideal base for long or short stays in County Galway, just 1 hour away from Galway and Limerick.

Within easy reach of a number of local activities, including sailing, fishing, angling, equestrian centres, go-karting and golfing. Furthermore, the apartments stand within the grounds of the Shannon Oaks Hotel & Country Club which boasts a range of on-site leisure facilities. During your stay you can take advantage of free access to an indoor pool, steam room and gym.

Enjoying the space and privacy of your own home, each apartment at the Shannon Oaks Hotel & Country Club features 2 en suite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen area and a balcony with views over the tranquil Portumna Forest Park.

In addition to the the free facilities mentioned in the Quick Description, the hotel also offers a flood-lit tennis court (astro-turf) and flood-lit soccer pitch (astro-turf), which are available at an additional cost.

As well as the fabulous on-site leisure facilities, the woods surrounding the hotel are criss-crossed with pathways and cycle tracks (bike hire at an additional cost) which are perfect for jogging, cycling or just strolling amongst the wildlife.

The hotel runs a summer camps for children aged 6-16 years.

By Car: From Dublin: - Take the N7/M7 Naas, Limerick road from Dublin. - Proceed on N7, bypassing Naas. - Join M7 bypassing Newbridge and Portlaoise. - Rejoin the N7 at Mountrath. - Proceed on the N7 through Borris-in-Ossory, entering Roscrea. - Take the N62 from Roscrea towards Birr. - From Birr, follow the R489, signposted Portumna. Approximately 2 hours 15 minutes. From Limerick: - Take the N7 Dublin Road from Limerick. - At Nenagh follow the signs for Birr and then Portumna on the N52 through to Borrisokane. - Take the N65 signposted Portumna. Approximately 1.5 hours. From Belfast: - Take the M1 in the direction of Dublin. - Join the A1 to Newry. - Take the N1 signposted Castleblaney, Dundalk. - Join the N52 towards Mullingar. - Follow the signs for Tullamore and on to Birr. From here take the N62 in the direction of Roscrea. - Turn right onto the N52, again in the direction of Nenagh through to Riverstown where you branch right onto the R489 (signposted Portumna). - Take the N65 to Portumna. Approximately 4 hours.
