Embedded in a marvellous landscape of gardens, facing the famous Passerpromenade, with the twinkling mountain scenery to its rear, Hotel Westend offers you a friendly and relaxing stay in the Dolomites.

A variety of walks and excursions are available nearby and the popular ski resort Meran 2000 is not far from the hotel.

The Westend offers spacious, well-furnished rooms, almost all provided with balcony with views of the surrounding countryside. This former villa is simply ideal for a relaxing holiday.

The hotel was originally built in 1890 as a private villa by the then-famous local architect Pietro Delugan. It would serve as a perfect example of his art and skill as it has one of the most beautiful façades in Merano. The building is now justly recognized as a true Art Nouveau structure and has been listed since 1984.

The villa, pleasantly situated along the cool, shady riverside walk once known as the Stefanie Promenade, was sold to the Pöder family in 1907. They managed it as a guest house through the troubled times of the 2 World Wars and the very unsettled period that followed. Many famous guests have spent their holidays at the Westend, including the German poet Gottfried Benn, who wrote many letters and poems to friends and family during his stay.

The Strohmer family had long been active in the hotel and catering business when they bought Hotel Westend in 1983. The hotel was completely renovated, with both taste and style. The Westend was awarded 3-star status in 1986.

• Kinderen en extra bedden: Alle kinderen zijn welkom. Alle kinderen tot 2 jaar oud verblijven gratis in het hotel, wanneer er gebruik wordt gemaakt van de reeds aanwezige bedden. Alle kinderen tot 2 jaar oud betalen EUR 11,00 per persoon per nacht babybedjes inbegrepen. Alle kinderen van 2 tot en met 6 jaar oud betalen 25% van het kamertarief per persoon per nacht extra bedden inbegrepen. Alle kinderen van 6 tot en met 12 jaar oud betalen 35% van het kamertarief per persoon per nacht extra bedden inbegrepen. Alle oudere kinderen of volwassenen betalen 45% van het kamertarief per persoon per nacht wanneer er gebruik wordt gemaakt van de reeds aanwezige bedden. • Annuleringen: Bij annulering tot 1 dag vóór de aankomstdatum worden geen kosten in rekening gebracht. Bij annulering daarna of indien u niet komt opdagen (no-show) wordt de eerste overnachting in rekening gebracht.

By Car: - Take the Brenner pass, highway A22. - Exit at Bolzano Sud. - Take the highway to Merano. - Exit at Merano Nord. - Continue to the centre of Merano. - At the 3rd set of traffic lights, follow the blue hotel route. - At the Piazza Mazzini roundabout, you will find signs to the hotel.
