    familie gerund hotel met grote mate van klantvriendelijkheid; om 05:00 uur een ontbijt voor ons gemaakt ivm vroeg vetrek naar luchthaven! Geweldig.

    wel bad, geen douche op kamer. Bad en wastafel met twee gescheidfen kranen, koud / warm water. Douche op de gang. Prima.

    Great location, in walking distance of the town centre and the docks. Good breakfast, and helpful staff.

    Very small room that seems to have been converted to en-suite recently, with the shower and toilet installed in an old cupboard - so not much space. Rather strange smell, too; maybe it used to be a smoking room?

    Staff were good. Bed linen clean

    Bathroom very poor condition. Floor tiles were coming unstuck and very easy to trip over. Hand basin cracked. Top cover on beds soiled and stained.

    We were overall very pleased with our stay at the star hotel, we were looking for a romantic room for one night only and we were not disappointed, the room was just as described, everything was clean and place, the overall look of the hotel was good and breakfast wasnt bad either. Thank you to the staff for letting us after the doors were locked! We will definitely return

    A good number of sockets for my appliances ie phone charger, hair dryer and striaghtners.The bed was very comfy - slept well.

    Chair in room had stains over it - looked as though it had never been cleaned!

    Good breakfast.

    Bedroom very poor, electric shower hopeless,tv did not work. Room 46 Colleague in room 47. Very bad,old dirty,washbasin in room next to TV and not in bathroom. Very noisy from exterior kitchen extractor fan at 06-30.

    The hotel is in the center and is good value, a fair choice was offered at the breakfast (tea or coffee, toasts, brown or white, cereals, juice, english breakfast, even though the croissants looked uninspiring).

    No ensuite bathroom, but the hotel was full and I heard that only a few rooms don't have it.

    Centrally located, large amount of bars and restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good

    room was very hot, need to arrive before 1800hrs if you want to park on site. no black pudding on the breakfast buffet!!

    The staff at The Star Hotel were lovely, relaxed types who made my girlfriend and I feel every bit as welcome as a couple who might have been staying longer, I'd imagine. We didn't stay for breakfast but the facilities which we experienced were fantastic for the price. Our room was comfortable and clean.

    Breakfast was delicious. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

    Internet didn't work. Also the bathroom (non-en-suite) had only a bathtub--I wished there were a shower also.

    Central location. Room was clean, and bathroom appeared to be newly renovated. Good breakfast.

    Quite a long walk to my room. Decor was rather old-fashioned - but functional. Bar closed early.

    the hotel was much better than previous reviews suggested. The inside of the hotel felt a little bit Fawlty towers - which was novel rather than bad. My room was clean and had a big double bed although I booked a single.

    some of the rooms are quite far or high to get to.

    The hotel staff were fine except for the male receptioist. The Hotel was clean and the breakfast was good

    Although we requested a quite room, we were given a noisy one. When we requested change of romm the elderly male receptionist said that there were no other rooms available, even though the Hotel did not appear to be full. This receptionist was unresponsive, and said we would have to live with the noise and did not apologise for it. The noise was of delivery trucks at a nearby supermarket late at night, refuse collection at 5am, seagull cries from around 3am, and car alarms sounding at times throughout the night.

    Very pleasant staff, secure carpark, nice breakfast, very clean linen & towels.

    Extremely shabby decor/carpets etc, desperately needs refurbishing, our shower tray had been painted in a failed attempt to disguise large amounts of black mould. Smells unpleasant due to not having had carpets cleaned or walls painted in a long time, certainly not since the smoking ban came into force

    A huge thank you to all at the Star, and not forgetting the lovely night porter who was so kind and helpful during the night as my wife had twisted her neck and we had to go to the hospital as she was in servere pain, the night porter arranged everything and then left a note for the day staff. Again the lady on shift when we arrived back to the hotel was so kind and said as we had no sleep what so ever we could sleep as long as we needed. however we did not want to cause you a problem with overlapping with new guests so we left at 12.30. We will come and stay again and hopefully we may be able to spend the night with you and not at the hospital ha ha. Again many thanks Kind regards Donna and Paul New

    Excellent central location

    Unfortunately the local authority were reserfacing the road directly below our front bedroom. The noise was unbearable until about 3a.m. and sleep was impossible. When we queried with the night manager how we could sleep he just said "you should have been here last night". We were not offered another room despite the hotel not being full that night.

    Very friendly staff

    Very hot in room and public areas of hotel - no fan in room & no air conditioning - noisy at night from people in street - too hot to close windows
