    The house and it's suroundings are very beautiful and peaceful. The atmosphere the owners gave was extrememly welcoming and nice, and did everything to make us feel at home and at ease. We just wished we could have stayed a couple of more nights!

    "I did like the accomodation. It was extremely clean but only one heater for one of the rooms. It was a very cold night so we all slept in one room as it was the only one with a heater. However, we did like the lay-out and the staff were extremely helpful and courtious." (97612720)

    "If you are looking for an overnight stay in a beautiful location and are on a budget then this B&B is worth staying at. The staff are friendly and helpful and we had a pleasant stay." (97208103)

    The location - in a farmhouse in the countryside just out of town. Ideally placed to go to a restaurant in town, and in a peaceful beautiful setting. The B&B is ideally situated for people who are interested in visiting the medieval abbeys and castles nearby.

    The room wasn't heated very well and poorly insulated. The shower didn't work properly - there was only a trickle of water from the showerhead which made the shower unusable.

    Accommodation with a genuine farmhouse feel. Truly rural surroundings ideal for those who love peace and quiet. The room provided was spacious, well equipped and very clean. We were provided with a warm welcome and a good breakfast. There is good parking.

    We have no criticisms of the accommodation itself but Hawick, the nearest centre, is somewhat lacking in good quality pub grub and it was necessary to drive 5 miles each way to find a pub that fitted the bill.

    Cooked breakfast was excellent. Very comfortable, homely feeling. Farm setting was excellent.

    There was no shower but the Victorian bath added to the character of the accommodation!

    Very nice location, clean spacious room, excellent service.

    Couldn't fault it really, except the room was maybe a little cold, although they do supply an electric blanket.

    "The hotel was a traditional farmhouse B & B and therefore lacks some of the room facilities that people have come to expect from modern hotels. It is an establishment that I would recommend to any one visiting the Borders. We were made very welcome and we much appreciated being able to stay over the Christmas period.     "This farmhouse would be a good base for some days if the area is where people want to stay. The complication of its location for our rapid movements was less good. That is not a fault of the hotel." (3305081061)

    We were 2 couples, and had the place to ourselves. Had freedom to come and go. The lounge was available to us to watch some TV, AS confortable place

    Bathroom separate from bedrooms. A touch out of the way, inconvenient for our travel plans, but depends what you need.

    Rustic quiet setting - serene. Non-intrusive management and delicious breakfast. Friendly housepets and croquet game set on the front lawn.

    Better description of location and difficulties in driving to the farm. Bed mattress was very old and uncomfortable. No TVS in the individual rooms.

    "Although I had a small problem finding the farm, once there we were made very welcome, this included beig shown around and being presented with a tea tray on our arrival. The room was clean and airy and the staff were excellent even though they were in the middle of the lambing season. The cashmere shop attached to the farm was available to us and the whole stay was restful and enjoyable. If we had known what to expect we would have stayed there longer but we can always return" (1927014)
