    "Although this is a rather dated hotel it is clean and tidy and certainly has a lot of character. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food was excellent." (107804106)

    The owner and staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent as were the evening meals, although there was a limited choice. There was plenty of hot water and good, soft towels and the central heating was put on as it was rather chilly at times.

    The bed was a bit hard and, as the room we had was at the front of the hotel which directly fronts onto the A5 road, together with there being no double-glazed windows, it was rather noisy at times. There is no attached car parking, although a secure area a short distance away was provided.

    Good location

    Terrible noise, terrible decor, understaffed, poor breakfast, overpriced.

    "Ample car parking, albeit across the road and down the street. Lovely staff, hardworking as well. On that night the chef had let them down so the owner rolled his sleeves up and became chef for the night and was then there first thing in the morning for breakfast. Don't be put off by the run down nature of the property on the outside, consided it to be faded grandeur. Nice breakfast as well and willing to accommodate early morning requests." (97029579)

    It had all the amenities you would expect in a hotel.

    The whole place needs a total cosmetic overhaul. Though please do not think that this detracted us from enjoying the stay. It was all slightly dated, the place would certainly benefit from a lick of paint. Our room was on the roadside and this meant it was tad noisy with traffic and throwing out of pub time.

    "It said secure parking but there was just 5 parking bays on the square and these were mainly full. Had to wait to get a space when we returned to the hotel at 830pm. The hotel was on the main A5 road and very busy. The noise was too much from outside." (97094301)

    The bedroom was clean

    Downstairs was very dark on arrival at 3pm in the afternoon and did not look very clean. This may have been due to the dim lighting. The bedroom was on the front of the hotel and was extremely noisy from the A5 road just outside the door and also from people leaving nearby pubs. We did not get to sleep until 3am.

    "Food is local and home cooked by the owners, bar is friendly with an olde worlde charm an a nice open log fire.. A good 15 mile walk along Rver Dee is in easy reach...as is an historic walk around rear of hotel.. Staff are very helpful & friendly too" (97153640)

    clean and warn but with charm -- not a modern plastic chain of hotel. A credit to the owners in local Welsh setting.

    "Booking information did not include breakfast times. I did not expect to receive breakfast as early as I wished to leave but then it would have been nice to have a discount due to no breakfast. Otherwise everything else was what you would expect for this price/location and it would not put me off staying again under different circumstances." (97362954)

    Room was clean, well presented and all equipment worked

    Was told at check in that even though we were leaving at 7am we should be able to get a coffee/corn flakes etc before we go. At 7am the hotel was desserted and we had to unbolt the front door to leave - no big problem but why tell us otherwise?

    "The Owain Glyndwr is a fascinating old building with lots of character. Although thr front of the building is in need of some TLC the interior & rooms are clean, comfortable & well equipped. Both service & food were of a very good standard. Corwen & the surrounding area is of great historical interest with many very old & unusual buildings. The hotel provided plenty of information on these & this made our stay more interesting & enjoyable." (97068678)

    Clean room, thick towels, tea making facilities, hairdryer, good food & service. Great & interesting location in historical building (with alledged ghost).

    My particular view of the back of the chip shop was uninspiring. We were initially put off by the run down appearance of the front of the building. No sign of the ghost either, although the view of the graveyard from the bar was intriguing.

    "We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would use this hotel again if we were in that area. No complaints at all - great hotel. Our group of 3 couples had great fun and enjoyed our stay in spite of the awful weather. The hotel coped extremely well with all our muddy shoes from the Eisteddfod field, which was the event we were attending in North Wales. We mixed with the locals in the bar and the hotel coped with our noisy crowd with good humour. Good breakfast, and fresh fruit which is not always available in hotels. Even though we only had 1 evening meal the food and service was excellent." (99303619)

    "The man on reception was very helpful. He upgraded my room for free when I asked if my original room had a bath in it because I had a really sore back. The room was clean, stocked with toiletries, coffee, tea etc. The telly worked well. Can't complain about it at all. I would have liked to have known more about where I could have parked my car, though I should have phoned the hotel and found out for myself in advance. Finding the reception was very diffficult. There is a bell to ring, but it was covered by the main door, which was wedged open. However, for the pice I paid I was very happy with my stay and it was easy to find and in a great location for exploring Snowdonia." (97067565)

    The room was better than I was expecting

    The rest of the hotel itself was a bit shabbier than I was expecting based on photos I'd seen on the internet.

    Hotel staff were very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.

    We were overlooking the town square and got about 2 hrs sleep due to drunken locals shouting and screaming all night long. Not good as we had a race the next day. Also the only place to eat was the hotel and the menu was very limited.

    "The exterior of the hotel looked dilapidated so we were worried about the quality of the room, although as noted above it was clean and comfortable, even if the decor was out-of-date. There was adequate free public parking fairly near by. We did not use the public rooms, other than the breakfast room, so cannot comment on them. I felt that staff were working very hard to overcome the problems of a large, old-fashioned hotel much in need of refurbishing." (99110188)

    Convenient location for where we were visiting. clean bed linen and towels. Adequate breakfast.

    "The initial view of the hotel was not impressive.It looks rundown but that is in common with similar establishments in Corwen town centre.However,the rooms and service were immaculate.Breakfasts were of a good standard as were bar meals in the evening.Real ale was not provided as stated on the exterior of the hotel.I would use again without hesitation."     "We found the room to be extremely good value having come from another hotel that was awful. This hotel room was light and airy. and very cosy. We have nothing to say that is negitive. The man who ran the hotel was very good and can be proud of his service." (99087582)

    The room ( family ) was very clean and tidy and smelled good. the Bathroom and Shower were great.

    Only thing there that wasnt so good was that there werent any windows to open.

    Nice pub attached to it - easy going people who did all that was asked of them.

    The single room was very 'single' - not room to swing the cat in. Could have done with some space to work in and on with the computer.
