    Very pleasant and helpful Landlord. Facilities were clean, warm and comfortable.

    Someone needs to tell the owners that the whole place needs refurbishment - very tatty throughout. I've seen reviews from 2006 saying the same, the message obviously hasn't got through yet.

    Lovely breakfast, and the food at the evening meal was fantastic. Tea making facilities in the room were good.

    The decor was very dated, the bathroom had mildew on the ceilings and grouting. The toilet was not stable and rocked when sat on :o/ The central heating was not great - the room felt chilly with it on and it was turned off early (approx 9pm), which however was already addressed with there being a convector heater already in the room - however this was plugged into a multiway adaptor which was pretty dangerous due to the load put on it so we had to do without the lamp. The carpet in the public areas are also tired,although appeared to have been recently cleaned but were quite literally threadbare in large swathes around the bar area. Also the hot water taps get incredibly hot - which I would worry about with any youngsters who stay there.

    The bar/restaurant staff were friendly and provided for all our needs efficiently and were very welcoming

    We felt that our room was a little dated and dark and the bathroom in need of a serious upgrade. The shower did nobody any favours as it filled the room with steam and was difficult to control.

    The bed and room was very comfortable,the meals from the main menu were excellent and good portions.Staff were on the whole quite pleasant.lots of hot water in the bathroom,good car parking

    bathroom walls was covered in mould,and smelt,the loo was loose.There was no breakfast menu and the chef had no fruit.it was rather take it or leave it although the cooked breakfast available was very nice.

    the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was very nice

    the rooms were old and tired and sleeping in the bed made me feel grubby. the shower hose was broken causing the bathroom to flood everytime i used it.

    Very nice hotel in odd location, housing estate but did not deter from the appearence of the hotel.

    Rooms and exterior could do with some touch ups.

    Extremely warm welcome on arrival and would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to our friends, or others intending staying in the Honiton, Sidmouth area.

    Staff were friendly and helpful

    Outdated room in need of refurbishment. Clean but torn duvet cover. Pillows lifeless. Bathroom very mouldy including shower curtain. Had our stay in Devon been for more than 2 nights we would have moved on.

    Good size room. Breakfast was reasonable. Staff friendly and helpful.

    Bathroom covered with mould and in some dis-repair. Shower head dirty and control difficult to use. No actual reception. Had to go to bar.

    Quality of shower and bath sundries provided, considering the price. Lovely spacious room and large bed. Peaceful location although we were unsure we were going the right way as it's located in the middle of a housing estate! Lucky locals!

    Terrible grouting in the bathroom and strange sign requesting the bathroom door to be closed during bathing or showering due to a sensitive fire alarm! Mouldy shower curtain. At todays prices, this is unacceptable. I didn't actually have any desire to get in the bath on this basis and therefore waited to shower until I got home.

    Internet-Check-Inn war professionell, Inhaber waren präsent; ihre Mitarbeiter waren sehr bemüht und kontaktfreudig

    Internetpräsenz bei Auswahl zeigt nicht die tatsächlichen Räume für den angebotenen Preis! Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut unbefriedigend, für 70 Pfund pro Nacht bei 7 Nächten in diesem Zimmer ist vergleichsweise schlecht zu anderen 3-4 Sterne Hotels mit gleichem Preis!!!

    hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpfull. They even called me back very promptley after i left the hotel to infirm me that i had left my phone charger. The room was fine for what i needed.

    toilet in room was coming away from the wall. The bathroom smelt of mould and damp as most of the tiles and grout around them was very mouldy. The tele in the bar resturant kept me awake at nite as it was to loud. But worst of all the quality of the food was terrible.

    This hotel has good size rooms, a quiet and convenient location and friendly staff. Food was very good.

    Could not get the digital TV to work (terrestrial TV was ok). Uncontrolled child (guest) made a lot of noise outside room and in restaurant

    Spacious rooms, large comfortable beds, friendly staff and good food. The light bites menu was a good idea for those with smaller appetites.

    The bathroom was tired and could use some TLC

    Lovely place, room was beautiful and more like a small suite, very nice food and friendly staff made it an enjoyable overnight stay.

    The bathroom in the room is in need of serious updating and re-sealing as the water was leaking through to the downstairs.

    Breakfast was nice. Plenty of hot water.

    1) Man and woman who saw us in were sarcastic and unfriendly. They were a little better at breakfast but I suspect that may have been because they knew we were unhappy with their stroppy attitude! 2) the bathroom was shabby and the shower 'tap' difficult to use. The shower stopped a couple of times. 3) the breakfast room was freezing and I told the lady. The man apologised on booking out and said that there was a problem with the boiler lighting and he had to light it manually at 5am! 4) the hotel website should warn guests on booking when there is a jazz eve. Apart from the noise it was difficult to find anywhere to sit in the bar in the eve and had to sit in the dining room, the passage from hotel section to bar/restaurant was blocked with people sitting listening to jazz.The car park was full. the hotel should have a reserved residents parking area!

    Very clean and very friendly. I had a nice room with lots of light.scrambled eggs were the best ever! and the mushrooms.

    I asked for a double bed but got singles but the very nice cleaning lady apologised and she was so sweet and honest.

    Most comfortable bed and the bathroom was very good for ease of use and a great shower . Bar staff very attentive and the food ordering and service were very good .Proprietor pleasant and welcoming person .

    "Okay for an overnight stay but would not stay for more than one night. From the picture, imagined a rural setting. You have to drive through a housing, the hotel is in the middle!" (97462567)

    Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of clean towels. The staff very kindly let us check in early as we were due at a wedding and wished to change beforehand.

    Bathroom was very dated, toilet roll holder was coming away from the wall and the grouting around the bath was very poor with many black areas. The room smelt a bit "musty".

    Staff were very welcoming and we were impressed with the size of the room we had. We enjoyed the country feel of the pub and found the overall cleanliness to a high standard.

    It was quite strange driving to the hotel as its situated in the middle of a small housing estate but when in the hotel area you don't notice the fact.

    Evening meals at the Heathfield were very good; good choice, well cooked and presented. The waitress we had was very friendly and helpful and always smiling. Breakfast was good, but fresh or even tinned grapefruit would have been a plus.

    Not really bad points, but points that we feel need mentioning : (1) We were late for breakfast on the first morning as we were not informed of a time scale on arrival, and there was no information in our room. We were served breakfast nevertheless and we were on time thereafter. (2) We were informed when shown to our room that the door didn't lock from the inside only by "wiggling" the key around!! It didn't work for us so the manager arranged for a locksmith the come the next day to fix it, successfully.
