    Lovely abience in the building .Breakfast excellent for both food and service. Bed and room very comfortable. Grounds beautiful for walks.

    Bathroom looked tired.Paint coming off ceiling and old taps which were difficult to turn off especially with wet hands.

    Excellent, efficient staff who couldn't do enough for you.

    Given room in the attic with sloping roof over bed (banged head, even though the hotel was obviously not busy. No air conditioning in attic room - it was very hot and stuffy. Room was obviously recently painted - shame about the peeling ceiling paper and the stained carpet. In the lift the floor light bulbs weren't working so had no knowledge of which floor the doors opened on.

    "Set back from the main road by a long drive. Peaceful surroundings. Staff very helpful, always someone on hand to assist with anything required. Leisure facilities very good - no need to bring own towels as towels for swimming are readily available. Not all rooms have walk-in showers." (97963630)

    Comfortable, pleasant and clean rooms. Excellent food available.

    Would have liked a walk-in shower, but I seem to remember there wasn't an option when I booked.

    "Easily accessible by car, a short drive north of the Tyneside conurbation, but sufficiently into Northumbria to feel rural. Easy to get to Holy Island (c. 1 hour) and other Northumberland locations. Hotel is in a lovely setting, with a golf course, swimming pool & spa - it has its own pub for good quality but less expensive dining, and a very good restaurant - two different dining experiences that work well for a weekend. The bedroom was very comfortable with high quality furnishings and a very comfortable bed - great views too. Good service from well-trained staff." (97303977)

    Not realy accommodation but the golf bar round the corner no TV nothing to do , this is needed if your on your own (billy no mates) !

    "I absolutely loved the hotel. the facilities were brilliant and the one thing I was very impressed about was finding out that you could visit the hotel with your Pet! I thought that was fantastic and although this was a business visit I most certainly intend on returning for a leisure break with my husband and our dog!" (99707820)

    The room was quite spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable.

    My only slight comment was the lighting in the bathroom, although generally sufficient it perhaps needs slight improvement for purposes of applying make up!

    Spacious and the painting and decorating was of a high standard. Breakfast was generous.

    "Having booked only bed and breakfast, we found it difficult to get a table in the main A La Carte Restaurant. Luckily we managed to get a meal there one evening. The food is devine and the service excellent too. There is the Linden Bar where we had our meals other evenings. The food there was also excellent, with friendly service, but it has not got the ambience of the A la Carte Restaurant. So if you wish to be sure to eat in the main dining room, than my advice would be to book Bed and breakfast plus evening meal." (3304912873)

    "The size of room was disappointing. We were in the roof and the window didn't provide for sufficient airflow so it was very hot and stuffy. We had to request a fan for the room, which was provided. Considering we booked nearly one year ago, the room was about the smallest in the hotel! Ensuite was good, and clean. We arrived very late on the first night. But the hotel were very good about waiting up for us. Whilst there was an excellent choice at breakfast, they couldn't cope with the number of guests arriving for late breakfast on the Saturday. My breakfast was overlooked, but brought quickly after we reminded them." (2243282)

    Lovely grounds for walking, made a beautiful backdrop for the wedding we were attending. Good choice at breakfast!

    "It was our first visit here. We could not fault the hotel at all in any department. The staff at reception, the pool area and restaurant were very friendly, polite, helpful and very efficient. We were greeted by smiles by all staff. Nothing was a trouble to any of them. The food was delicious and well presented. The hotel is surrounded in beautifully kept grounds. Everywhere we went whether it be the bar, restaurant, our room or pool, it was clean. We were so impressed we have decided to definitely go back again." (3304550056)

    "I should have preferred a choice of rooms. Just being 'allocated' a room on arrival is not acceptable at this standard of hotel. The servic eat dinner was quite good. However, the breakfast service was a great let-down. Nobody took our order for ages - and when the food came it was almost cold. This reduced the overall impression of a well-managed hotel with good sutomer service. Final report - could do better with a little more attention to detail!" (3304524776)

    "We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights with elderly parents, the only set back was one room was on the ground floor and one room was on the second floor it would have been nice to have been closer together. We enjoyed our stay and the staff were extremly helpful, polite and well trained in their jobs. Breakfast was good.     Comfortable beds, spacious and clean room. Loved the open fire in the lounge. The staff were courteous and helpful

    The large containers outside our room spoilt the view, but they will probably go when the decorating/refurb is complete.

    First class service with local-accented people

    The ambiente music playing in the main hall was audible from our room and could have been switched off earlier. That would be our only criticism. The hotel is located in beautiful countryside and we would like to have followed a country walk which showed more of the golf course and surrounding area.

    "I did know this hotel before we booked as we had played golf there and had attended conferences on many occasions. We were unlucky to get a room over the kitchens which were noisy at times. Overall it was a good experience and I understand they are upgrading the fittings and fixtures too. Could not turn off the bathroom underfloor heating though. Reception staff and porters excellent."     Modern decor in room. Clean. Windows that opened. Rural setting. Good for golf and casual dining.

    Breakfast was not a good experience. Orders not filled correctly. Slow service from young, seemingly unfriendly staff.
