    Lovely location, good use of an old building, lovely conservatory type dining area.

    Rooms a bit 'squeezed in'.

    We enjoyed a Good evening meal (main courses), the were staff very pleasant and helpful. the location of and aspect of the hotel is delightful. Good parking facilities.

    The starter was overpriced and poorly presented (tomato and mozzarello cheese salad- 3 slices of supermarket tomato and 3 slices of mozzarello for 4:95. The room was dark and very poky with a view of the restaurant conservatory roof, we only decided to remain in that room because it was a one night stay, otherwise we would have requested a room change. The room could do with an overhaul - chipped paint and dirty bathroom tiles. Breakfast finishes at 9:00am - we misheard and thought it was served up to 9:30 and suffered the consequences of dried up scrambled eggs and baked beans - surely a 3* hotel could be a little more flexible.

    Excellent residents' lounge - comfy seats, coal fire; good bar; good bar meals; good restuarant. Very helpful staff. Good sized garden. Pleasant surroundings close to river walk and near enough to town centre to walk to.

    Hotel Location in the old part of Haddington, we lived in Haddington from 1973 till 1985, family live in Haddington, and we celebrated our Golden Annivers'sary.

    nicely situated hotel in a lovely little market town

    rooms need refurbished also very hot even with windows open as far as they would [half open ] breakfast not ready till 8.45 and checkout time too early in comparison to other hotels

    "Staff were extremely helpful with regard to parking my motorbike especially the guy with the scooter who advised I could park the bike on the tarmac instead of the loose gravel. Reception staff very efficient too. Didn't like the 12 O'Clock curfew or ringing the bell. First time I'd encountered that from a hotel. Overall good and I'd return." (99299896)

    I liked the tasteful decor of the room and the hot water filled the bath super quickly.

    Room could have done with a brighter light for hair and make up purposes in addition to the ambient pretty lights.

    Good position and lovely building

    That the front door was locked early and the bar closed down well before 11.00pm. Also charging extra for normal breakfast items. Very limited dinner menu.

    The hotel had a real Country House feel. The lounge was very nice indeed.

    The room was rather dark. I used it as a single so I got by. As a double it would have been cramped. The toilet/shower was far too small and so uncomfortable. The shower temperature was almost impoosible to control. The music in the Dining room was for the staff not the customers. I thought some of it awful.

    The Hotel was very well laid out clean and tidy. The room we were in was lovely apart from being a little small to be a double. The other thing that caused concern was that our window overlooked an area where the staff had a cigarette break during the day as well as fairly late in the evening. There were occasions where voices were rather loud and the sound of breaking glass from staff putting empties bottles into the recycling container was loud and disturbing. We also had a fire alarm go off on the Sunday morning at 2.30 am and on contact with the staff they were unaware if we should leave the hotel or not. Other wise it is a lovely friendly place to stay and the meals are excellent/.

    "The meal served in the Conservatory Restaurant which we had one evening during our stay was excellent and good value but we were slightly disappointed with the Breakfast that we were served. The porridge was thick and lumpy and the poached eggs were overcooked. The full breakfast did not appear to have been freshly made but seemed to have been left to bake for a while." (3304158630)

    "We arrived on a very hot day, to find all the radiators on in the room. It remained too hot throughout the one night stay. I opened the sash window to let in some air. When partially closing it at bedtime, the window fell out of the frame at the top, striking me on the head. The food was satisfactory. Overall I would rate the hotel as adequate but not good enough to encourage me to return." (3304689099)

    It was a convenient place to break a journey from northern Scotland.

    In common with maby hotels, the level of lighting in the room was poor. It was difficult to read.

    cold bed room due to room heating failure, pleanty of hot water, reported and unrepaired! Not double glazzed. Old tatty TV with limited stations and reception. No radio! Had to pay to use internet.

    "The supposed double room we were allocated was clearly a single room with a small double bed squeezed in. There was one bedside cabinet and one bedside light. The bed was against the wall, so I had to crawl across to get in. There was only one bath towel in the ridiculously small shower room (or should I say cupboard). The room overlooked the restaurant roof. It was so hot and airless, that we had virtually no sleep. Needless to say, I won't be returning." (2260661)
