    Beautiful hotel, stunning location and grounds. Very friendly staff.

    Only fault I can find is that the toilet in our room made an awful noise when flushed (trapped air in the system I think?!)

    The building - great atmosphere, the location, the food and attentive staff.

    Room got cold at night. Reception area not always manned - sometimes had to walk about to find someone.

    The whole experience of staying in an old manor house with oak panelling everywhere, creaking floorboards, characteristic furniture and decor, and a romantic and relaxing atmosphere in such a beautiful setting. Excellent cuisine and wine list in the restaurant

    "The hotel and gardens are the perfect setting for a relaxing short break. A well stocked library, a gymnasium , complementary sherry in each room and more fresh flowers would add to the ambiance. The obtrusive displays of hotel guides (including copies for sale) proved to be an unwelcome feature of little relevance to guests during their stay." (3305069101)

    Interesting building. Appeared well managed. Staff friendly. very relaxed atmosphere. Good interaction amongst guests. Our children felt welcome even though most guests were middle aged.

    One room was slightly too small. One double bed was less than satisfactory. Some rooms over-looked each other. Lighting poor. A desk lamp might prove useful.

    "We had a meal in the hotel in the evening, there were only about five couples in, including ourselves. The service was appalling. It took us from 7.15 to 10pm to get a three course meal served. The wait in between courses was ridiculous, if they speeded that up it would have improved our opinion of the overall stay." (3304359403)
