    Your booking process was shambolic.You confirmed a second room as booked but the hotel didnt have one and I had to sort out direct.Even then there was total confusion on check out.

    spacious , very comfortable room.Staff exremely helpful. Parking adequate in the car park, - on street very busy. Restaurant well appointed. Meals good quality

    Outstanding views and countryside

    distance from main building and too many steps, no shower supposed to be twin room but it had one double bed and one small bed with no head board Menu on web page was nothing like menu at hotel, no bar meals told only al la carte on Friday, cooked breakfast was inedible

    Good Friendly staff - suberb meal and breakfast

    Bed very hard and many steps to room. I have visited this hotel many times on business, but have never been to this part of the hotel, I feel I should have been warned, as our visit was 6-weeks after a knee replacement (too many stairs).

    Excellent spotless bathroom and comfortable clean bedroom. Excellent evening meal and good breakfasts.

    Slightly taken aback to be asked if I wanted to give a gratuity when I paid my bill by debit card.

    Staff very knowlagable of local area events and where to go also their service was very friendly and extremely helpful, the rooms were very large and we had one which had just been decorated so very bright and airey, the cleaning and service of the room and the rest of the hotel was also excellent with the food being top of our list as it was excellent for taste, quantity and value.

    the worst and most in need of attention is the shower, if it can be called that, extreamly poor, it was a mixer shower with no force or even thermostat to regulate the heat flow really poor for what is a four star venue. There also needs to be some update on the T.V and none existant freeview, we had one night of realy bad weather which had an effect on the reception.

    "Enjoyed the cosy bar and ate in the restaurant the first night, the food was good but a bit expensive." (107939910)

    The bar area was nice and cosy, the selection of beers was good.

    Hot tap in bathroom was running constantly, when reported to manager she just said "Well that wont be easy to fix will it" Once we went to bed we couldnt sleep as the hot water pipes were clanking and loud, I asked to be moved the next day and Dee the barmaid managed to find us another room. They let the same room out that night. The room also had a broken window frame that wouldnt open or close properly.

    The room was well appointed with comfortable seating and beds. We liked the tea and coffee making facilities, especially the hot chocolate! The room was well heated, after we switched the radiator on. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of food and a good choice of different dishes.

    We could only get a limited supply of hot water for the shower, which ran out before both of us could shower, maybe there was a switch somewhere we couldn't find? There were no instructions for the clock/radio which we ended up not using as a result.

    Good breakfast and pleasant dining room.

    The welcome was less than adequate - no offer to help with carrying cases up three flights of stairs. Room basic - shower didn't work. I can get a cheaper and far better room in central London for the same price.

    Waiting staff in restaurant excellent, and table setting very good. Standard of food good, although not a large selection. Good breakfast.

    Bathroom lacked a shelf and tiny handbasin meant that could not be used by women during making-up. Strange colours of bedding. Very poor lighting. Only good light was in bathroom. Ground floor room, looking on to car park, with no blinds or net curtains, meant heavy curtains had to be drawn across when dressing in the morning. Accounting a bit haphazard, and verbal inquiry as to whether one wanted to add a gratuity to bill when processing credit card puts guest in a difficult position.

    Food in Hotel Pub was good, staff were friendly. Call center staff at UKvillages.co.uk were very helpful with check-in problems we experienced.

    Accommodation was poor value for money. Small room, not enough towels in room and the carpets were filthy. Vastly overpriced; beware the nice photos of rooms on the website.

    Extremely friendly staff. Excellent food, very good varied menu.

    Shower didn't work very well. Bed cover was stained.

    room was very spacious. Breakfast choice was excellent as was the waitress' service and courteous staff on arrival.

    Did not realise that payment would be on departure, thinking it was all paid for. Husband nearly had a fit when he was asked to pay again! Staff explained about credit card payment, that it wasn't taken at time of booking the room on line but on leaving.

    Very welcoming and friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely and was served how you want it. Nice real ale in the bar. Would have liked to have tried the restaurant but arrived too late in the evening. I had requested a quiet room and I got one, thank you!

    No TV reception until I found the end of the aerial lead that had come unplugged from the wall behind a sofa. Not able to have a shower as the lever on the mixer taps did not work, reported the fault and was assured that they would get it fixed.

    The staff in the actual bar area were very good

    The room was adequate. Shower was terrible, there was a hole in the sheet on the first night which was still there on the second night. The maid left the door open all day after cleaning. We made a written list of point to discuss with the owner when we checked out. She was not avaliable which was OK, but were told that she would phone us - she never did

    Good meal in pleasant restaurant and a convenient location for touring the Moors.

    Our room was in dire need of renovation with an ancient bathroom and worn decoration and furnishings.

    The food and the restaurant was fantastic and the staff really friendly. The accomodation being in a seperate building away from the bar was a big plus.

    Had a real struggle getting hot water out of the shower and the room was very cold when we first arrived.

    "Welcoming hotel in an old coaching inn with plenty of character. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and always keen to give guests their personal attention. The room was clean and charming with the only negative point being a shower head that needed a good clean or replacement. Breakfast was included in the price and unusually good quality. The restaurant had a range of menus from bar food to a la carte with a comprehensive wine list and everything we tried was very good. Service was a little anarchic at times but always polite. The hotel has its own pub with a good range of beers and real ales." (97359192)

    "The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The hotel was clean and well organised. However from the information on the websit I assumed our room had a bath and shower. When booking in I was told I had a shower only. However, I was given an opition and moved to another room. I think that more detailed infornmation should be provided on the rroms so that a more informed choice can be made." (97542695)
