    Central location. Breakfast was good.

    Late returning to hotel on the first night and found ourselves locked out. Room was a bit on the small side.

    Would have liked more lighting in the room,it was quite dark not helped by the dark covers and light fittings.

    Excellent friendly staff and fine with late check in. Fantastic beer too - real ale pub - my other half couldn't believe our luck! Excellent breakfast too, quick hot and nice quality. Really fast check out too as we had to get on th road. Will be back!

    Friendly staff

    Overall tatty appearance inside and outside of hotel. Toilet leaked, toilet seat slipping. Ceiling in bathroom unfinished and generally bad layout. Bedroom dark and gloomy. Beds uncomfortable (my son ended up sleeping on the floor).

    Rooms were very clean, warm and comfortable. The welcome and service we received during our stay was exceptionally good. Breakfast substantial and warm. Highly recommended.

    "We really enjoyed our short stay in this family run hotel and the owners couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming.All rooms were warm and clean.The only problem was we found it difficult to find coming from Cardiff,and I would advise the use of a map or sat.nav. when travelling here..neither of which we had!!"     Cheerful, very helpful staff and chef, very good food. provided us with a full breakfast half and hour earlier than regular time at our request. very comfortable bed, good supply of drinks on complimentary tray. cleanliness 100 per cent.

    Had to go to the bar in the middle of the meal to get another drink as waitress had disappeared. shower didn't get hot so couldn't have a shower. no heating in bathroom and it was quite cold. No mats on bathroom lino floor.

    "We received a really warm welcome from friendly competent staff, we were greeted by a roaring log fire and a fantastic pint of Somerset frozen cider, we enjoyed great food & good company throughout our stay.     Really friendly staff who made your stay so welcome and did everything you required. Very close to all the things we were doing in wales so excellant location.

    Cold bathroom but we were offered another heater which we could of used but declined and were ok about cold with us been outdoor kind of folf .

    "The Hotel proved to be in a good location for sight seeing and things of interest in the Welsh countyside, we were able to visit all the places we set out to, including the Red Kite feeding centre and the Elan valley Dams, The welcome from the owners and staff was very warm and friendly, nothing was to much trouble for them, we will be going back time and time again in the future" (97551963)

    The Welcome was warm and the room was comfortable we had a very nice meal on the two evenings of our stay, I will book this Hotel again for another weekend, it's in a beautiful place with good walks and scenery

    The Accommodation was clean the room was well equipped and warm with good on suite facilities

    Well situated for events of the weekend. Adequate spaces for the group that stayed there and sufficient parking.

    Felt decor was dated and had to walk through the bar and no-one seemed to be available upon arrival.

    Everything was very good

    Room was cold with no central heating - not good in the middle of winter although a small inadequate electric heater was provided.

    The informality e.g. choice of where to eat evening meal. Friendliness of all staff. Cleanliness of accomodation. Comfortable.

    Nothing! Oh, apart from electric alarm clock which was noisy during the night. I unplugged it!

    "This is a small family run hotel which the owners are improving. They are very friendly and very helpful and make you feel very welcome. The location is very quiet but there is plenty to do. Breakfast was lovely and traditional." (97130996)

    The owners are fairly new and very enthusiastic and appreciate they still have some work to do on the hotel but their friendliness more than makes up for this they are very hospitable.

    The bedrooms were a bit chilly but they are planning central heating very soon and the heaters were adequate.

    To be fair the owners have only recently bought the hotel which is a little tired. It needs investment and the new owners clearly have the ambition to improve it.

    "This room was booked for me by my company at a time when accommodation availability in the area was scarce due to the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show being on. This was the only single room available at the time of booking and was adequate for the purpose of a one night stay - the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The family running the hotel were warm and friendly and eager to please. Food : good choice and good standard - excellent breakfast ( just one thing in relation to the breakfast menu - shows choice as 'full English Breakfast' which in the heart of Wales I think would be better described as a 'full WELSH Breakfast')" (97878821)
