    "Okay for a short stopover." (107897371)

    Restaurant and bar were welcoming and the food in both was very good. Staff were friendly and generally efficient.

    No lift in the hotel and the trouser-press in the room did not work.

    "We couldnt understand why the hotel had set this particular price point on the room 'the royal suite' no less. in fact it was normally supposed to be more expensive. Maybe since it was one of the only hotels in town (?) but still we were somewhat dissappointed." (107569560)

    Free use of gym facilitaties was a plus point.

    Room looked generally tired and dated. This was a real disappointment for the price we paid. Shower was leaky and bathroom extremely dated. Also windows were in poor condition with rot, therefore lots of excessive noise from outside.

    Meal in restaurant was disappointing. The steak was listed as sirloin but was in texture that of topside.(steak diane) As a butcher of 40 years I do know cuts of meat.

    Staff were welcoming and very helpful. The food in our hotel was excellent. Excellent spa and leisure facilities.

    Very good tea-tray with teapot and plenty of milk and tera bags, etc. We did not use much as we were too busy, but the hoospitality was there. Very good television and bathroom. Very good breakfast. All staff were good.

    Not a problem for us, but the stairs would be a problem for some guests. I would have liked a second armchair.

    The hotel was clean and smart, appeared to be efficiently run the staff were polite, well informed and efficient also very helpful

    The double room was a bit small not really a bad point

    "As above re old bathroom- limited choice of main meals in bar rather than restaurant was probably to be expected as it was Mothering Sunday and lunch was the main meal of the day, not evening. The standard of the leisure club was a bonus." (97666622)

    Clean comfortable bed - and room. Excellent and spotlessly clean leisure facilities- pool and jacuzzi etc.

    Bathroom was very dated and old windows were large,single glazed and draughty.We ate in the bar as restaurant was closed Sunday evening and though my steak was fine, my wife's Lamb Henry was very tough.

    the good faciliies were excellent value, though we arrived too late to use the beauty room facilities

    the bathroom neeeded re-grouting but otherwise the room was excellent, not too overheated.

    Central to the town of Oswestry

    A bit of a walk from the car park into the building.May not suit elderly and infirm or disabled.

    "As we were attending a funeral we did not spend much time in the hotel. When I was booking I included breakfast but was surprised that I was not informed that continental breakfast was at a lower price. There were four adults and only two really wanted cooked breakfasts. I was charged the same price for both as I had pre-booked. Otherwise it was a comfortable stay with no complaints." (97539793)

    Comfortable and homely. Breakfast was good.

    Floors in room and bathroom were not level which made the bed slope

    "I had stayed in this hotel 3 or 4 years ago and this was my first visit back to the area requiring an overnight stay so I thought I'd try it again. I was not disappointed. Check in was fiendly and efficient as was check out, and I have to say the freshly cooked breakfast was first class." (97795691)

    For a one night stop over it suited my needs perfectly in terms of location.

    "The food was excellent, one of the best standard of foods I have encountered. The room was nice with an excellent balcony, however the smell of smoke in the room was very bad. More should be done to remove the smell. The staff were always helpful and friendly, the blonde lady who served my many times in the restaurant at night and at breakfast in the morning was expecially good." (97025507)

    The balcony was a nice touch.

    You could tell the room was previously smoked in which I did not like. It was the worst feature of my whole stay.

    The decoration, space and facilities were excellent. Thoughtful and considerate staff who contacted me in advance to tell me there was no lift but that I only had a few steps to climb!

    the building has great character, peaceful location, friendly staff, great to have use of the lesiure facilities,

    it goes with a character building but the floor boards outside our room were very creaky and whenpeople went back to their rooms it tended to wake you up.

    Room was large and clean. Staff friendly.

    Rooms very hot, shower dripped all night, At check in we were not informed about requirement for a token to exit car park which we needed to obtain from reception.

    "We were very impressed with the condition of the hotel and the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. The food was very good and there was a lively bar to go to in the evening. Perhaps the only thing we may have liked to know is that the rooms are not accessible by a lift and therefore anyone with disabilities may encounter difficulties reaching the rooms. Perhaps this should be pointed out when booking (or maybe it was us and we did not notice - we do not travel with our mother as a rule but we were attending a family funeral)." (99066695)

    The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient and the overall condition and services of the hotel were excellent.

    Nothing really, the only problem we encountered was that our Mother who was staying with us has difficulty in climbing stairs and there were quite a few! But this may have been our error when booking we should have mentioned it. However, the reception staff were quick to notice her difficulty and immediately offered to move her to a room which was easier for her to get to.
