    Food excellent standard remains high staff really friendly and helpful.

    Bad odour of damp(?flat roof problem)in lift area.Decor very tired.

    The quality of the food was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly

    The service in the morning was not up to standard. I was allocated a table that needed preparing and the waitress didn't set the table correctly and I wasn't given a napkin. In addition there was no information about the hotel in my room so i was unable to review the menus for the restaurant. The bathroom was not as clean as it should have been and there were hairs in the bath and on the floor.

    "A lovely three days in Stornoway - hotel is very well situated for the town and the island generally. Felt it was relatively expensive, especially compared with cost of local five star b&b, which presumably has higher overheads as well as being a far superior experience." (108078771)

    The staff were absolutely lovely and the food in the restaurant was superb.

    There were small, but irritating, problems in my room, eg, empty tissue box not replaced, not enough plug sockets considering hotel is supposed to have been recently rennovated and everyone has chargers these days, one of the pillows was almost non-existant. Small things that mostly could have been dealt with, but which would have made me feel like I was complaining all the time. Also there was not much drawer space. It was a single room, which makes you wonder how they view single travellers really.

    The staff were welcoming and communicative the food in the restaurant was of a very good standard and the chef took the trouble to come out from the kitchen to speak with the diners and asked them if everything was alright.

    The hotel from the outside is in need of some TLC especially at high level which detracts from what they are providing internally

    "I have stayed at the Cabarfeidh before and enjoyed my stays and that was the reason I re booked. I was very shocked this stay at the lack of hospitality. When holding a business meeting at the hotel I asked the receptionist for coffee for myself and customers. I was asked by reception to go through and look for another member of staff as it wasn't their job!! I had to go in search of a member of staff then was told someone hadn't switched coffee machine on so we couldn't have any. When I returned home I discovered I had been given the wrong bill. I telephoned hotel and explained I required a detailed bill for my tax/expense return, the response I got was a giggle on the other end not an apology. I was very disappointed with my stay at the Cabarfeidh this time and would have to think long and hard before returning. " (97959188)

    Dinner was lovely although very expensive for what it was. I stay in many hotels throughout the year, 3- 5 star, even they do not charge such prices for their meals.

    At check in/arrival the Receptionist was very disgruntled at check in. I felt like I was bothering her. Shower not working at all. Discovered early morning too late to action. Receptionist was texting when I wished to check out. I explained shower was not working and I got a shrug, no apology offered. Had a business meeting in hotel had to hunt a member staff to get served. Then told coffee machine wasn't working!!! Lady working in hotel complained about being busy at lunchtime and following morning at breakfast time not what customers want to hear. Vents x3 in ladies toilets are filthy, not just a section the whole vent.

    "I took a taxi from the airport (£8) and this service was quick and friendly. The hotel was a comfortable, clean and relaxing space to return to after a long day. Friendly helpful staff added to this experience. The hotel is a little out of town but, with a town the size of Stornoway, this is no great problem. Rooms are modern and have large windows - plenty of light. Bathrooms are spacious and very clean. Breakfast was quiet (the only guest there) but considering the time of year this is to be expected - food was abundant and excellent. Breakfast service was particulary good. Altogether a very enjoyable stay. Incidentally i would recommend Lewis in springtime - had excellent sunny weather (no such thing as bad weather, just inapproriate clothing) and it never felt busy or touristy." (97067770)

    Efficient staff, clean rooms and public spaces. Very good breakfast. Nice to see contemporary art works in rooms (by Prof Richard Demrarco MBE HRSA).

    Clean, well-furnished, peaceful and convenient. Bathroom excellent.

    Some of the carpeting on the stairs had seen better days.

    I can honestly say your staff excell above other hotels. The DM, Chef and Check-in were fantastic.I found them willing to go out of way to assist and were cheerful with a good knowledge of the roles expected of them.

    "My experience here was good. Hotel is set slightly out of the town centre, which means that a bit of a walk or a taxi is required if going to the town. On the whole, it was fine. Comparing notes with conference colleagues, I believe that I had made the better choice of hotels in Stornoway." (3305378496)

    Staff were extremely helpful. Room was clean and tidy and had everything I needed for an overnight stay.

    I had an early start and was told that I could have continental breakfast in the morning (pre-7am). However, the area was cordoned off and was not very inviting, so I did not have anything until I had left the hotel. The lounge area is a bit past its best decor-wise, but still quite comfortable.

    "This was my first stay at the Cabarfeidh and i would certainly return.Room was spacious,clean and tidy.Food in the restaurant was excellent(try the stir fried duck)and staff were friendly and always helpful.Lounge bar was an excellent way to relax in the evening!The one slight minus point was the choice of TV channels.A menu seemed to suggest a choice of satellite channels but could only pick up terrestrial.As i say,a minor point."     "Before booking it would have been good to know what facilities were available as hotel has 3 star rating. Biggest gripe is the cost for accommodation. I have stayed in lower priced hotels with similar room facilities all working and in similarly priced hotels that offer a lot more e.g. wireless internet, cable/satellite TV, air conditioned rooms. However in my current experience this is the best of the hotels in Stornoway. Shame about the price!" (2476504)

    "Convenient, modern, good and ample parking, easy to walk into town centre. Girls at reception informative and helpful. Good breakfast menu, apart from poached eggs solid like golf balls. Dinner menu good, although only went first night as we like to vary where we dine at night. What you would expect from a three star hotel. Did not like having to go into the public bar when I wanted a drink in the late afternoon, althought in view of an absence of custom in the lounge bar, that is understandaqble. The lounge bar has an impressive and far too tempting array of single malts." (1856223)

    You should have got the lift repaired quickly. It was out of order all the time.
