    ""Thank you" seems too inadequate to write. This is a very special place. I hope you enjoy it as much as my wife and I did. It was a privilage to go and stay in such a wonderful setting and with people who care. I want to take the rest of family to enjoy the experience." (108664995)

    There are so many I do not know where to start. In my professional life I stay away from home on average 130 nights a year in various locations. I can honestly state that there is no where better for setting or hostipality. Alison was the most wonderful host- friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful, the sort of person everyone would want for a friend. The "room" turned out to be an appartment with everything we needed to add to the uniqueness of the occasion.

    I have difficulty of thinking of anything bad to say except that the shower was a little too powerful! (pathetic point isn't it?)

    This was without a doubt our favorite B&B during our three week stay in Great Britain/Ireland. Not only was it a beautiful home in an idyllic setting (off main roads, river running by, sheep in the fields, woods, hills, etc) but we connected personally with this family and will never forget their friendly hospitality and the many extras they did to insure the rest of our trip would be successful.

    Beautiful scenery, off the beaten track very quiet and peaceful.

    No en suite although bathroom only shared by 2 rooms and there was no one in the other when we stayed

    Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, very nice location (as long as you don't mind being a bit out of the way). Food was good. Room was comfortable.

    A bit more expensive than other places I stayed at on my journey.

    Excellent location. Very friendly hosts.

    Advertised as £60 per room and add £12.50 if 3 adults. However, we were charged for having a child with us in a family room. Very mis-leading room description. Didn't realise it was a shared bathroom.

    The views and the wildlife were just wow factor, and the added bonus of the owners being very friendly and helpful. Plus some good eating places and more wonderful views to be found nearby.

    Peaceful location with beautiful views over the river. You are made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive till you leave.

    Don't rely on satnav to guide you to the guest house as there is no reception in the area!

    "If they can not guarantee which room you will be given I would like to have known, also to say that as location is quite a distance from nearest town that a meal in guest house might be best option then an approx price of meal as we felt although meal was fine it was pricy." (97264030)

    Location is fabulous - also very friendly and welcoming couple who ran guest house.

    We were expecting an ensuite room but did not get this but as only one night stay it was not a problem.

    "A charming location on the banks of the Whitadder, adjacent to the Southern Upland pathway, great views from the accomodation along the river. You could walk directly from the accomodation to several walks in the Lammermuirs. We were looked after well, and the porridge and cooked breakfast set us up for the day. We occupied a ground floor flat,comprising , kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and en suite, great value." (97068454)

    "The hosts could not do enough for us, even let us use their private shower. The suroundings are beautiful and very peaceful; it was an event to see another car on the roads when going out for dinner in the evenings!     "A lovely property in a beautiful location. Good sized and well furnished rooms. We received a very warm welcome and were made to feel very much at home. Hosts could not have been more helpful. We liked the sitting room that was made available to us and enjoyed our stay. I found the bed a bit uncomfortable, but appreciate that this is quite a personal thing. Breakfast was quite good."     Fabulous location and a very warm welcome.

    For me the bed was not very supportive - the mattress seemed quite tired. No en-suite bathroom. Otherwise, no gripes.

    "Greenhope has a lovely setting.The scenery is fantastic,with the river setting and trees and wildlife.One night is not enough to appreciate it,especially at this time of the year when it comes in dark at about 6.30pm.The accommodation was good value for money.We would have preferred to have evening meal here rather than go into Duns.However the meal at The Black Bull was very good and we can recommend it!We hope to return perhaps for a weekend in the summer months. I think this will be especially beautiful in the winter when it snows-a real picture card scene." (97871841)

    The location was idyllic out in the countryside. The owners were friendly and lovely people who made you feel very welcome.

    The separate guest lounge was as comfortable as you could wish, and the separate kitchen was fully equipped. The peace and quiet were almost disturbing!

    "The property is situated in an ideal location for anyone wishing to get away from it all. Peaceful, tranquil, idyllic are all adjectives which spring to mind. We stayed in the riverside suite which was absolutely perfect. The only issue is the distance to the nearest village offering a choice of pubs/restaurants.     "This is geared around self-catering in a separate part of the building with two bedrooms in the main house for B&B. One bathroom serves both B&B bedrooms and the owners. No shower just a wonderful old steel bath. One communal TV and no FM radio reception. Very clean and well maintained with good-sized bedrooms. The welcome was excellent, we felt very comfortable. Only problem might be getting dinner if the weather is bad. We would definitely stay there again." (3305204575)

    Beautiful situation, and a wonderful welcome. The place was all we expected and more. We felt very well looked after and the owners were a so helpful and kind. The room was very tidy and well furnished, with a beautiful view down the river valley.

    Would have liked our own shower but the big bath was wonderful!

    "I found the place quite easily with Sat Nav, although couldn't see any sign from the road that the cottages were there. A long drive past other cottages to get to the end of the road. Very nice aspect, with views back down the valley. A little kitchen with Fridge Freezer, sink and electric cooker. Satelite television. No need to lock the door, parking right outside too. Bed was very comfortable, and the room incredibly quiet.I wish I had known about the lack of signal, as it made communicating with work very hard. Won't be an issue if you are on holiday. The owner was friendly and made excellent breakfast(I loved the scrambled eggs!) The two dogs were very friendly, (Samba and Poppy (or poppet) a black lab and a terrier) and there was plenty to do walking wise from right outside the door. Duns, not far away, has a co-op and a fantastic award winning butchers which does Kangeroo, Ostrich, Wild Boar and Pork and mango chutney sausages and burgers. Altogether a very pleasant stay! I almost felt like I was on holiday rather than working!" (3304719075)

    It was nice to have a kitchen to cook my own choice of food. The bed was very comfortable, french doors onto the garden a lovely touch. Pheasants and white doves in the garden, a beautiful view down the valley. Peace. Owner is very pleasant, and so are the dogs.

    No telephone, and no reception for mobiles. Hang on! Is that such a bad thing? As long as you know before you book I suppose. :-)

    The grounds cannot be beaten.

    Make sure you rent a car - it is not accessible by any form of public transportation and the taxi company is not reliable.
