    "All was fair and would stay again, the evening meal was very acceptable given the pricing and the wine was spot on. Staff were civil and diligent. A good stay thank you." (108398338)

    All was present and correct facility wise.

    More tea and coffee sundries in room please. (coffee addict!)

    central location, comfort, staff, late check-out option in superior double, parking

    no aircon (would not stay in this hotel in summer- have done before) but presume this adds to lower price; mean on small luxuries like shower gel, tea bags etc

    Hotel is situated in an ideal place near to the shopping centres and musuems.

    Excellent value for money, fantastic location in the heart of Birmingham. Very close to Brindley Place/Broad street/Mailbox and 5-10 mins walk to the Jewellery Quarter & the Bull Ring. Clean & quiet hotel, ok parking facility underneath hotel.

    Expensive Buffet Breakfast.

    Pleasant accommodation.

    Lack of air conditioning and unable to leave window open due to traffice noise - even at 4am.

    Excellent location for the purpose of our visit, near shops and other amenities and car parking facilities at hotel a bonus

    excellent service provided by all levels of staff.

    no hot water in shower mixer valve broke,should have been checked prior to check-in, only stayed one night didnt report fault because didnt want interuption on short stay.Deco dated but clean.

    "Room was clean and over looking a car park. Ordered room service (pizza at 3am + 2 drinks) was told there would be a 20 min wait as there was one order ahead of us. Two phone calls to reception later it took 1 hour for the pizza to arrive, without the drinks, so a further phone call, they took another 10 min. Explanation was that they were busy. For a 4* hotel with over 200 rooms to not cope with more than two orders is very poor. This resulted in not being able to get to sleep until past 4am. It would have been quicker to go to the local fast food place but far more dangerous (Birmingham Broad St = Scene from Booze Britian) We were unable to sleep until 5am due to a party in the room above. Informed staff who did deal with this quickly. My overall experience was close to that of staying in a back packers hostel when I was in my early 20s. Not what I expect for a 4* hotel and certainly not the quality of stay I expect to be paying good money for. There appeared to be a " (107603414)

    Check-in, booking, bar area, facilites in room in good working order and clean

    Room was small, and ensuite and corridors a bit dowdy and run down for a 4 star hotel.

    Breakfast was very nice, good quality Breakfast. Staff very friendly.

    The bedroom was definately not of a 4 star standard. The hairdryer did not work at all. the toilet was dirty on arrival. Standard and comfort of bed was appaulling. Room in definate need of refurbishment. Shower in desperate need of de-scale. Restaurant was extremely hot.

    Staff were very friendly.

    There was a lot of traffic noise due to the position of the hotel and the decor was outdated. One of my pet hates is shower curtains and i would have expected better for a 4* hotel.

    staff in particular. They seemed to go out of their way to be helpful and were always friendly from first thing in the morning to last thing at night.

    room, reception, evening meal were excellent

    breakfast was dire. Bacon like leather (certainly not cooked fresh but warmed up) eggs like bullets, tomatoes cold, sausages far too strong, tea cold and stewed (one of us only got half cup as pot empty) and requested top up did not arrive as waitresses were hoovering and clearing up round us. We were at the end of the service and were told it would be made for us which we thought was good. Restaurant Manage very helpful. However we did not see him again and the food was truly inedible and had certainly not been made fresh for us. One of the waitresses was extremely rude, tutting and rolling her eyes at a colleague (the colleague was absolutely fine). This was reported at the desk and the manager knocked off the price of the breakfast. Sorry do not know name of manager who dealt with but she was very professional and pleasant and dealt with our complaint to our satisfaction. It did rather spoil are impression of what had been a good stay. However, the guy on receiption when left was extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful so he saved the day and we would on balance stay again

    Quiet room with a good view. Hotel was clean and and well-decorated. Staff were efficient and friendly.

    No trouser press in room. Shower head broken in the sense that you could not alter the width of the spray.

    Pleasant, friendly staff. Faulty shower quickly repaired after we reported it. Excellent location.

    The coffee in the bar is dire! And overpriced.

    The Copthorne is a freindly hotel and within easy access to the City Centre.

    Parking is not so good and I think the charges are a little over the top! especially when you have to park on waste ground.

    food of a good standard- rooms large and airy -

    noisy radiator in room. Rooms on the whole need refurbishing as they are looking a little bit shabby - especially the bathroom. Other restaurant has gone. Why? Other eating area was very uninviting -- atmosphere.
