    Room fine, comfortable and quiet, good views of city and next to river.

    Position could be better. Not in most attractive area and needed taxi to centre. Foyer a bit small and unimpressive.

    The staff were so accommodating, our booking arrangements were a bit complicated but the reception staff were very patient and happy to help. The facilities were clean and tidy, and anything we needed (extra milk or beverages) were provided wwith a smile, which has not been my experience in other chains of hotel! The bar staff were equally helpful and friendly, lending us any equipment (such as a bottle opener) that we needed. The service was excellent and I would definately stay again when in Sheffield, and on this experience I would not only recommend it to friends but will try others in the chain in other locations. This was a very high standard for a budget price.

    When we got to our room, we found that the kettle had something which seemed to be a food substance stuck in it! We took it down to reception and a new one was brought up immediately though, but it does indicate that the not all of the amenities provided in each room are checked when the rooms are turned down between stays. Also, there is no option for a late check out, even at an extra cost, which would have been very useful as we were only staying one night.

    Lots of minor points:We arrived at 8pm on Sunday but the call box to reception for entry to locked car park is confusingly labelled Hotel Bristol still. Hot coffee not out at breakfast. Why use slotted spoon for grapefruit so cannot have juice? Plug in bathroom needed attention-I fixed. Can't buy Daily Telegraph with suscriber vouchers. etc

    Excellent location. Clean, spacious, very well-equipped room. Courteous staff.

    Morning paper ordered but not delivered to room. Cooked breakfast could have been more freshly cooked. Electronic room key failed. Cost of TV and internet services not clear, but it appeared that even to watch TV only would cost £15.

    Friendly Staff, comfortable bed (unusual for a hotel!) parking nearby with access directly into hotel, modern clean style of hotel, friendly staff, good location for town, lovely room but lets not forget, friendly staff!

    trouser press didn't work (sorry forgot to report it), my egg was more cooked than I like (sorry - big deal). Outside appearance - fenced off, old petrol station site to front/left of hotel, very unwelcoming. Driveway to NCP car park at rear of hotel - potholed not very clean, but realise its not your site.

    "Congratulations on whoever chose the photos for the website - made the hotel look far better than it was, general feeling of decay in decor, fixtures and resturant/breakfast has to be amongst the worst I have ever had. Marooned in the middle of a derelict garage yet surrounded by far more attractive accomodation, I would hope that the general standard could be improved enough to give a reasonable stay to reflect the pricing. Being part of a big group with some very good hotels - Edwardian Manchester etc I would hope the higher standards in these would have some influence." (107660277)

    Staff attentive, helpful - especially in restaurant and when we had a problem The food and wine was excellent (the staff were most concerned that we had rather a long wait for it!)

    On arrival - rather tired - we had to wait for the receptionist to finish a long phone call before we could check in!

    "I found the attitude of your bar/restaurant staff appalling I have never been spoken to in the way that I was spoken to by the staff on the evening of Friday 12/12/08 whilst our party was in the bar/restaurant. As a result of the attitude of these workers, my friends and I checked out before 9pm as we were not prepared to be treated in the manner that we were treated in. This made our trip not pleasant and enjoyable as it should have been, and it ended 14 hours earlier than it should have. This is a great shame as up to this point we were enjoying the hotel, and as a result of what happened we would not be using this hotel again, and would not be recommending this hotel to people in the future.     Room was clean, check in was smooth & efficient. Staff extremely helpful & friendly. Good location, close to everything.

    Lighting in main room was inadequate. Could have done with a large main light as well as the small lamps that were available.

    Guest Service was excellent - only needed to ask and it was done.

    Hotel not in a very good area of Sheffield (if there are any good areas) and it was difficult to find somewhere suitable (ie pub) to have our evening meal away from the hotel.

    grim surroundings, car-park looks like a post-apocalyptic nightmare, views grim too! our room was not available when we arrived at 3pm. had to wait 20 minutes

    The location. It was ideal for visiting The Crucible.

    Trouser press was pretty rubbish and the TV was ancient...with a video??? Who uses videos these days?

    Good location, good sized room, comfortable bed. Great breakfast.

    Doors noisy, curtains did not exclude external light well enough. Hard to get to entrance because of roadworks.
