    "I would recommend this hotel not for its updated appearance but for the genuine freindly atmosphere. " (108842230)

    The managment very helpful and had no hestitation in helping us over difficult situation we encountered in the area. The breakfast was very good, the staff freindly. There was a homely feel about the hotel and the management and a more person touch that big hotels fail to give.

    There were no bad points really. the cost of the hotel stay was high but it was in a central position and if you wanted a more upmarket hotel the cost would have been relitive to one need and requirments?

    "Welcoming and professional look and feel. Room was smallish though adequate. Fair location, not too distant from the city centre for those willing to walk. With the breakfast included not bad value for money considering that Edinburgh seems to be an expensive place to stay." (107750800)

    Breakfast very good, though in a small dining room, fairly crowded. Check-in and check-out were fast, friendly and pain free.

    Beds were very soft, narrow and somewhat on a slope. Not good for my spine. Check out should be 12 noon as standard, not 11. Basic 4 TV channels. What about some satellite or at least freeview channels?

    Good clean hotel within easy reach from the train station with a good buffet breakfast.

    "a good hotel, but it could be so much better if it is given a revamp. nothing fancy - just a lick of paint and new lino in the bathroom would improve it by 100%. " (107939966)

    the hotel was well presented on the outside and in public areas.

    the decor in the rooms was very very tired and shabby. It seems that the owner of the hotel does not care about presentation and feels that a lick of paint is too much trouble.

    Receptionists extremely helpful regarding directions and parking issues etc. Clean room, adequately furnished.

    Trouser press unserviceable. Not enough coffee/tea ingredients. Window faced construction site and curtains didnt stay shut (blind would be better). Breakfast very disappointing (self-service poorly stocked, waiting staff unattentive, no direction or greeting received at restaurant). Disappointing choice of TV channels (no cable etc).

    The staff were very nice and we felt welcome and looked after. the shower was good and the sheets cotton,

    Bed very small, room tight for 2 one being 6'3" tv bad reception, no free wireless

    Room was very clean and had everything i.e enough towels/soap/toilet rolls etc. I arrived two hours early at the hotel and asked if I could check in earlier. The staff expedited the cleaning process so I was able to get in shortly after I arrived.

    Shower wasn't very powerful and we had problems opening the windows in the room. Couldn't quite work out if you could open them.

    Good for the price.

    Very small shower - lucky I'm not a big person. Room was not quiet because it was near a stairwell.

    staff were friendly, room was clean.

    For the amount the room cost it was not value for money at all. Very small bathroom with not even a bath! tiny sink. the room decoration was very dated, windows were filthy and walls were very thin. The whole hotel smelt too strongly of cleaning products and was quite overpowering. The scottish breakfast we were promised turned out to be an English breakfast.

    "Apart from spending 15mins outside at 2am one night because the fire alarm got set off we had an enjoyable stay. The breakfast is good and the hotel is in a good location from the city. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for money." (97984497)

    The breakfast was good and the hotel is in a good location to get to the city. Staff, especially staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful.

    We had trouble with the room temperature and at 2am one night we spent 15mins outside after we had to be evacuated because the fire alarm got set off.

    "The staff at the hotel were helpful and accomodating. The rooms were a bit dated and in need of refurbishing. The worst feature was the shower. The water heater provided scalding hot or cold water. Water pressure was practically non-existient." (97597729)

    "Overall I have nothing bad to say about the hotel. I do stay in hotels quite often and I must say comapred to a 2 star hotel this hotel was great. I specially loved the staff for their professionalism and friendliness.I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Edinbrugh for any reason.     Good size single room. clean and everything in good working order. Breakfast was good.Very friendly staff.

    there was construction work going very near the hotel. It disturbed me a little.But I guess that wasn't a fault of the hotel itself.

    "The hotel location was too far walking distance from the general shopping mile street, but it was the perfect locaton for us! The hotel was very easy to find, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They recommended to eat at Zizzi's, which was sooooo good!     The treatment from the staff was really kind. Good relation price-place in comparison with other hotels around.

    I think Internet access should be free. A lot of people select the accomodation by choosing a hotel with free internet.

    Exactly what we were looking for, Budget Hotel accomodating 14 for Stag Party, 24 hour service at Bar, Security & good location, Staff were very helpful with Trains & Taxi's, Would Recommend highly.
