    "Overall, just average." (97141002)

    The staff, especially the guy at the check-in counter upon my arrival, were very friendly and helpful.

    It was like a maze to get to my room. The curtains were extremely thin, letting a lot of light into the room at night and possibly allowing viewing into the room at night when the room light was on. Room was very small, too, and one of the outlets did not work.

    The accomodation was good,room was a good size,and bed was good.

    The room did smell off stale smoke,the tv was too high, and only one chair.otherwise very comfortable.

    A comfortable bed, clean towels. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

    A part of the flagging in the bathroom was absent.

    Nice and central and close to the railway station.

    Seemed a bit run down and grubby, The member of staff who checked me in was also unhelpful.

    the pub sells meals until 9pm so we could have a drink and some dinner after arrival

    the reception for the hotel is in a busy pub, and we had to wait a while until we were served by staff

    The staff were really friendly and let us check in early. They also booked a taxi for us to take us to the airport the following morning (however did not show up)

    The rooms are basic pub style. The rooms appear to be well used and the double bed had one side higher than the other. There is tea/coffee facilities but it was filthy. The locks on the door appeared to have been broken and not fixed properly. Not a safe feeling.

    "When we checked in we may have been a little early but we were given rooms that were still being cleaned. There were others available but they didn't check at check in desk which were ready. I was very disappointed with the shower as they have no pressure and a luke warm dribble is all you get. Also, the soap dish fell off the wall while I was in the shower and lots of muck (probably rotted glue) fell into the bath with it! The bed was comfortable though, the room was a good size and it's a very convenient location for town; Although you do have to walk through all the smokers to get to the accomodation." (97275736)

    Very convenient for town, decent size rooms.

    Staff were adequate, not particularly friendly or helpful. Bathroom needs refurbishing as soap dish fell off while taking a shower and the shower is a mere dribble of water.

    ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE GROUND IS WORTH AT LEAST 10.000.000 POINTS!!! NICE BAR, FRIENDLY STAFF, GOOD FOOD (THE BEST CHILLI CON CARNE I HAD FOR A LONG TIME)!!!!

    ANYTHING ABOVE THE GROUND IS AN EXPERIENCE, TOTAL MAZE GOING TO YOUR ROOM. THE BED AND THE INSIDE OF MY SINGLE ROOM A DICKENSIAN EXPERIENCE. TOILET DID NOT FLUSH, SIZE OF THE BED.. SMALL, IS NOT A FAIR WORD.

    Room was a little dated, main entrance door wasn't particularly safe (looks like signs of a previous attempted break-in..maybe.

    "Pub, where you book in, seems to be THE place to be for loud and lively drinking until the early hours, so registering was a bit slow and chaotic. I was concerned I'd be disturbed by noise from the bar but this wasn't a problem; it WAS midweek - weekends may be different? Lots of stairs up & down to my room, some narrow & difficult to carry my heavy suitcase round. Overall the hotel did feel a bit run down, BUT, my room was absolutely clean and supplied with all usual facilities which all worked. If you like the sterile predictability of Travelodge et al, this might not be for you, however, I'd be more than happy to return. ps note for hotel (not a complaint): the shower head works fine for customers but loses half the water backwards: needs repairing before the spray out of the back causes damp problems."     Town centre Location - 10 minutes easy walk to station, £6 taxi from airport. Cheap optional breakfast. Pub has historic, old fashioned feel about it and was still open when I arrived (very thirsty) at midnight.

    Town centre location - attracts late night loud drinkers until 2am. Pub has old, worn down, shabby feel.....

    This is our third stay here as we visit family and it is very central. The rooms are always clean and the room attendants are very friendly. Also when you are in your room you cant hear the noise from downstairs, always a pleasure to stay here and we will be staying again very soon.

    "Good location. Good pub onsite. One member of staff told us food had stopped being served at nine, we arrived at ten past nine,very hungry! The hotel is combined with a pub and the decor and furnishings of the public bars struck me as being of a somewhat higher standard than those of the private bedrooms and bathrooms.     Somewhat inconvenient to have check-in system operated from the bar of a busy pub if trying to check in on a Saturday night.

    "The hotel car park was out of use and we had to park over the road in a municipal car park. Before we arrived they could have let us know about the parking problem - especially as they knew we would be arriving late at night.The next morning we discovered that we should have been given a pass for the parking. There should be a Night bell for late arrivals.We nearly gave up knocking on the windows!" (97666358)

    Excellent breakfast - but it would have been better with some fruit juice to start.

    No heating in the middle of winter! Room was cramped.Having to go via first floor to avoid going outside in the cold - a long trek to breakfast!

    "When checking in we waited for 5 mins before anyone offerred help, at which point we were told to press the buzzer on the desk. We waited a further 5 mins for someone to arrive(after pressing the buzzer for a second time. It then took them some time to find the check - in book, with no appolgy for the delay.     The noise from the Fun Fair rides outside the buliding as they stayed open quite late. Also the venue below created a lot of noise at closing time
