    Staff very helpful. Breakfast provided promptly.

    The Hotel is very run down and in desperate need of renovation. Facilities such as shower and toilet are outdated. Door to ensuite could not be closed allowing smells to enter the bedroom. Bedroom door was difficult to lock and unlock due to very old lock - this could have been dangerous in case of a fire as it could have been difficult to get out quickly! There was nobody on reception when I arrived at the hotel and no clear indication of what to do - I eventually asked a member of the bar staff in the pub below who then checked me in.

    "We were going to the v festival so wanted somewhere close to the bus station.The description of the hotel does not match the hotel itself when arrived there is a bar on the ground floor then you have to go upstairs to the hotel reception where we were met by a lady who told us that she didnt normally do the check ins and was swearing in the conversation she had with us. On arrival of the room it was a double we asked for a twin she did offer us two single rooms but neither of us felt safe to do that.The room was very basic that needed upgrading with a bed that was on wheels so every time you leant up against the headboard it moved so unless you like lying down all the time there was no where to get comfy.The shower was stuck on very hot so you could only use it for short bursts plus it didn't have a holder for the shower head so you had to hold it while you showered. We stayed for two nights the room wasnt cleaned while we were there so we had no clean towels and refreshments were not replenished so had to rinse cups out if you wanted a drink. As it is on a main ring road it got very noisy and it was quite warm in the room so the window was open but the blinds kept flapping and in the end we had to shut the window. We were asked if we wanted breakfast but we declined as we were not sure what we were going to get due to the state of the hotel. " (107890027)

    asked for twin room got a double. wash basin not connected to wall shower had only one setting - very hot and you had to hold it all the time

    Free parking on site, town centre location.

    Very poor standard of housekeeping / cleanliness. Sheets didn't fit the bed. Really scruffy fixtures and fittings. Room was tiny. Bathroom light didn't work. Open packet of biscuits left for us along with someone's empty water bottles!

    Some of the staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast wasnt too bad.

    1st room was dirty and had no working shower, 2nd room was marginally cleaner with working shower but no aerial for tv. When we pulled the blinds they were stuck to gether at one end by some kind of horribleness!

    beer was being served at 8.30 in the morning.( not to me)

    Very noisy on ring road,not doulbe glazed. the car park next door used as an impromptu football pitch at 3am when clubs turned out.The blinds did not shut out the lighting .,it was as like the light was on in the room. Amusingly a picture on the wall was screwed on sideways,we had the bestv room in the hotel apparently so I would not have liked one of the cheaper rooms.

    "After i had booked i read the reviews, and was expecting the weekend to be a disaster as the reviews where so bad. But, i had allready booked by credit card, and thought it was too late to cancel.At least it would be somewhere to sleep after a night out. I was pleasantly supprised on my inspection of the Hotel. The room was clean, the staff very friendly, and the bed was comfy. I think the bad reviews where written by people who wanted a cheap Hotel, but expected it to be the Hilton!!" (108206615)

    Very dirty rooms and the hotel in general, No restaurant open, can not close windows, no heating available, the room is not cleaned and the bed is not made every day, the hotel has very bad reputation with the local, I will not recommend to anyone

    This hotel was filthy! No area had been vacuumed for at least a week. Room was dirty. Shower was cold. Shower curtain hung on 4 hooks.If it wasn't for the fact that it was late evening, I would have left and found alternative accomodation. After seeing the state of the place, I gave breakfast a miss and went to the local Waitrose for a bacon roll and cup of tea.

    Lack of Staff, Extreme Traffic Noise, General Cleanliness, Breakfast extremely poor, served by the bar staff who had obviously had a heavy night of drinking.

    The hotel was a good size and within very easy walking distance of the city centre

    The overall cleanliness of the hotel & rooms was not good. The tea/coffee facilities in our room has not been cleaned or replaced from the previous guest. Although I must say the sheets & towells were clean.

    Bed was comfertable

    Room was unclead, had rubish in the draws and dirty curtains. floor was nnclean. Showe curtain was moldy and had not been washed in a while. tiles round shower value where broken. and door to room 10 had been kicked in and had not been repaired very well.

    on appearance of hotel from outside let it down straight away. on walking into reception noticed everything was dirty . carpets were covered in dirt and hadn't obviously been cleaned for a long time.reception not helpful at all. on entering room noticed a stale smell straight away and dust everywhere. stains in toilets and sinks. walked straight out and refused to stay there. reception refused refund.

    "Overall the hotel was scruffy and housekeeping poor. Staff were polite and helpful." (97638310)

    Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Sheets and towels clean and fresh.

    It was not clean. This included the floor, shower, fag end in draw. T.V. did not have a hand set and DVD player did not work. Curtain was off its rail.

    Cold room, hairs in bed, pants on top of wardrobe, no chain lock on door, mouldy shower curtain, one of three bulbs working, corridor smelling of smoke, wardrobe door on one hinge!! We dint actually stay there we left.
