    Good supply of hot water for bath. One of the few chains who still provide smoking rooms. Very convenient to railway and bus stations.

    Bacon at breakfast rather dry.

    Central Location,Train and Bus station both opposite Hotel ,very short walk into town centre .

    Bus station opposite hotel !,single glazed window so every Bus could be heard pulling in and out of station (only quiet spell was between midnight and 6 am )

    the price and distance from the railway station.

    After booking in i went to try and find the bar for a drink before going out for the evening, there were people eating and there was a small bar in this area which was closed.I then went through a door which said entry to hotel bar, the bar had wooden floor and chairs and very poorly maintained.It had access to the street which meant non hotel residents were able to use it no food was served which meant i was unable to have a snack before going out,spit and polish saloon comes to mind.It seems that this bar was not run by the hotel but possibly has an arrangement with the hotel I saw no residents sitting in the bar only a number of very drunk individuals which was very off puting.when going to a hotel a clean room,good bar with sky tv and alternative food facilities other then the hotel set meals are what i feel make a good stay in a hotel. Only the clean room was available at this hotel during my stay.

    "Nice, clean budget hotel with friendly staff. Recommended!" (108999501)

    Excellent dealing with our booking as the booking on the internet went through even though there was no double room available, but the reception staff sorted it out and we got two single bed-ensuite rooms for the same price. Rooms are clean and contain everything needed. Quick and easy checkout and helpful staff for parking suggestion.

    Internet booking gave availability that was actually not available.

    "good overnight stay, clean and tidy room, myself and my daughter were staying in the hotel while we were enrolling her in the University, we came all the way from Cyprus no doubt we will stay again. " (108699635)

    adequate supply of towels etc, tea and coffee in the room and an excellent breakfast

    lack of staff contact, apart from the restaurant staff that seated us for breakfast, we saw no one from the hotel from booking in to booking out...

    For attending the event we were going to this hotel was a great location. Very close to bus and train station. The gentleman who served breakfast was very friendly and the breakfast was lovely

    I booked the hotel via the website in March, I rang the hotel a couple of days before my stay to pay the balance only to be told that they had no booking for me, resulting in me having to ring the website resulting in a high charge call from my mobile. Had I not rang to pay off the balance I would have turned up to the hotel with no booking and dread to think how this may have ruined my weekend

    "Hotel is in good position for station and town. Rooms on the main road must have double glazing/secondary glazing for the noise to protect against the unbelievable noise coming from the street at night. Ours didn't and we didn't sleep. The hotel reacted positively to changing it but the excuse that it is listed so can't do anything with the noise doesn't wash. Staff could smile more. They just didn't seem happy." (107752747)

    Responsive to our need to change rooms. Breakfast was good and kept serving even though past 10am. Good position

    Room on the first night is not fit as a hotel room. Windows do not block any noise and it is impossible to sleep naturally. These rooms should either not be used or come with a warning. Toilet fan didn't work in this room and the fold up beds were very uncomfortable. The first one kept collapsing.

    clean room

    woken with wedding guests shouting and argueing in the early hours of the morning. running up and down the corridor banging doors. woken again by house keeper vaccuming outside the room around 7am, then woken again by house keeper trying to gain entry to our room at 9am. overall a very restless night. very disappointed with the whole stay!

    Staff were very helpful and pleasant

    hotel was shabby, cobwebs in the room, holes in the wall marks where pictures had been removed. room felt tired and unclean due to overall decor. Not what you would expect for a 4 star hotel.

    Located within walking distance to town center.

    The only window in the room would only open 4 inches and would only stay open when propped up with an object. Room was located next to busy road with lots of traffic/noise. Thin walls made sleep difficult due to hallway noise. Bed was completely uncomfortable due to very poor mattress quality.

    we booked a twin room and got a single with a camp bed the bathroom was small enough to swing a cat and was dirty we will never go back there again

    The hotel is next door to the Theatre which was the reason for my visit so was ideal, the bedroom was nice and breakfast was good as there was plenty choice.

    I phoned the 'Active Hotels' helpline to query my booking. The lady I spoke to did not speak english very well and couldnt help me with my enquiry. I found this to be an appalling display of customer service.

    Staff were very friendly and effeciant. Help was at hand when needed.

    Noting to be honest, apart from tv remote's battery was rasty but i did get it changed.
