    Overall I found the hotel to be friendly and comfortable.The staff were friendly and helpfull.The room I stayed in was clean and tasteful;

    I did not like the ecurity swipe keys to get into the hotel at night.I found it very difficult to use the security swipe key as i had been out celebrating and was a little drunk.

    Food was tasty but portions were small

    Hotel needs an upgrade as it is tired looking inside and out. My main gripe was the fact that the fire extinguishers in the hallways were all obsolete and do not comply with eec regulations in spite of the fact that they had been serviced by a "competent" service company.and at least one of the units was in a condemned condition.

    "It was fine as a bed and breakfast but due to the bar being closed early we felt that as a hotel we expected to get a drink before going to bed. The staff were very pleasant and chatty." (107644823)

    The hotel was clean and tidy.

    The doors and woodwork were very chipped and in need of a coat of paint. The bar was closed when we returned to the hotel at 10.15pm.

    Staff all very friendly and helpful. Room really spacious, well furnished, clean and comfortable. Good-sized shower room/toilet. Catering excellent. 15 minutes walk from city centre, and good bus service. Good on-site parking.

    Toilet seat was requiring to be replaced. Earliest breakfast time on Sunday (8.30am) was awkward when several of us were due at the event we had come for at 9am, though I can see that might well be fine for most other guests.

    Was late coming in on first day and receptionist called to find out what the problem was. Easy check in and out.

    Not very clean. Noisy guests who even knocked on my door 3.00 am first night. Inadequate wifi internet range, it was not specified- could have used a different room as i needed to use internet. The instructions say you call 0 or another number for help and no one ever answered!

    "We would have liked to know if there were any restrictions on eating in the restaurant. The room was adequate and the location was within walking distance of the town centre and on a bus route. There did not seem to be any permanent bar staff as we always had to search for him or her. Perhaps covering two jobs at once? The stay at the hotel could have been happier if the all the facilities had been available. Fully expected some apology and perhaps a reduction in room cost, but this did not happen." (99156053)

    The breakfast was very well cooked and hot with a good choice. We could not try the restaurant as you will see with the comments below.

    Unable to eat in the restaurant in the evening due to a wedding planned for the weekend. There was no notification of this. We were offered food in the bar but it just isn't the same as the bar area was very small and the lounge area did not lend itself to meals with a pool table stuck in the middle of it.On one evening the rooms was not serviced and we had to ask for toilet rolls and teabags.

    Location

    the little things like the toilet roll on the floor(No Toilet Roll Holder,At Breakfast having to fetch your own Cup + knife & Fork Waitress would bring your coffee in a pot But you have to go get your own cup and same with the food waitress would bring the plate with food but again you had to go fetch your own Knife/Fork, as I said the little things that would make a differance

    "The Craigtay is in urgent need of refurbishment. The overall appearance of the interior (and exterior) is tired and scruffy. Food in the bar was adequate but a bit pricey and breakfast was the usual greasy hotel fry up; overcooked one day undercooked the next. The Hotel is situated in the heavily industrialised eastern side of Dundee and is only just within walking distance of the city centre. A taxi is a more realistic option if you don't want to drive. On the positive side my room was spacious and the bed linen and towels were very clean and fresh. Parking is secure and particularly good for motorcycles, which is why I chose to stay there."     "The hotel is in the less popular east side of Dundee which I would not like to walk through late at night but is fine during the daytime. There is good parking with cctv security cameras. The rooms although old fashiioned in decor are clean and fresh. We had a clear view of Tay Bridge and although the gas works is directly behind the hotel this didn" (99260261)

    "My only problem was finding the hotel even with the given information. I found myself in Broughty Ferry at one point and had to ask directions several times. I don't know Dundee at all and would never have found Market Street without help." (3305170358)

    "I would say that this is very much a business mans hotel, with no frills around the hotel. It would also be a good place for the budget traveller to stay as it is clean and the staff are all friendly. It is a 10 minute walk from the city centre and for those not wanting to walk a taxi will cost around £4. Food was good at the hotel and there are a few nice places a short walk away too.     Handy to the city centre and to the train station, nice clean room.

    Would have been nice to get salelite tv in my room i think it would improve the value for money.

    "The hotel was a little difficult to locate, as this was my first visit to Dundee, but this was due mainly to the extensive roadworks near the city centre which confused me. The hotel itself was clean, warm and was attractively decorated. The hotel is 5 minutes drive from the city centre which was handy for me." (2718163)

    The room temperature was pleasantly cool; the bed was very comfortable; tea & coffee facilities in the room were nice.

    There was no information about breakfast availability in the room.

    Friendly

    Bathroom upgrade. Decor. Most importantly it has a poor location, overlooking a gas storage facility which you can smell in the hotel.
