    Staff were terrific and I was given an upgrade on the room booked.

    No lift and two flights of stairs although I was offered another room. One of the mugs in the room was chipped. (forgot to tell the staff). No in hotel dining room for dinner.

    Asked for a high floor which we got although no lift so lots of creaky stairs and doors to open.

    Water tanks very noisy when neighboor used bathroom. View obscurred by fire escape.

    Very friendly waitress at Breakfast and good quality breakfast. Nice location. Friendly and informative check in. Love the whole Horse racing ambience.

    Shower water pressure. Room a bit cold in the evening and heating only came on during the night.

    The staff were very helpful and friendly, breakfast was good.

    The mugs on the hospitality tray were chipped and the curtains were a little flimsy.

    A wonderful hotel, a lovely warm welcome especially nice to get an upgrade to a fantastic room with a four poster bed.breakfast was delicious & staff very efficient, helpful & friendly.

    "We arrived and the Receptionist was wonderful and ran through everything so we understood. We were also lucky enough to have been upgraded so that was a wonderful surprise and the room was fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was fresh and lots to choose from. I would definitely go again and definitely reccommend friends." (107568104)

    We were given a receipt of the bill that was charged when we checked in. They had taken the amount of our credit card before we had arrived. The beds ( we had two rooms) were very uncomfortable. When booking I received a letter of confirmation when phoning night before to confirm they knew nothing about us, they had different days to me and my letter. We had asked for two rooms together and my husband and I were on the ground floor and my children on the first floor.

    "A really great stay .Excellent room , Breakfast and staff." (97489540)

    Excellent.Lovely room, fantastic grounds and view. We had dinner at the Kings Arms which is in the centre of Prestbury 5 mins walk from the hotel ( the Hotel's Royal Oak Restaurant opposite was full - we forgot to book in advance it is so popular ) which was terrific. Liked the idea of the late ( after 7pm ) hotel bar being opposite in the Royal Oak. That made the hotel so quiet and tranquil. Great stay.

    Large room size, period features.

    Would have preferred a power shower, but you can't expect everything in a building of that age. So no real complaint.

    "We stayed in the Coach House which is next to the main house and found this very old building beautifully converted.The way the hotel is operated is very unique to what I am normally used to as their restaurant ( The Royal Oak ) is opposite together with the main bar.Again a very old building serving first class cuisine with many awards.You do have to book in advance though as it is so popular.     Staff were very good and we were showed to our room There was no English mustard for breakfast other guests asked for mustard as well so it was not only me. Some black pudding would have been nice as well

    We stayed in the coach house rooms a little tired need some love and attention black mould around bath and window rotten

    "We found the hotel ideal for our purpose which was to attend a Christening nearby but did not really spend anytime at the hotel because our stay was so short and most of our time was spent with relatives." (99515269)

    The setting of the hotel and gardens were lovely. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful.

    "A very pleasant, albeit short stay. We would like to return and stay for longer. The hotel is set in pleasant grounds in a quiet area about 25-30 minutes, level walk, from the centre of town. Ideal for the racecourse, which we could see from our room at the front on the second floor. It was relatively easy to find and there was adequate parking. The room was a good size and comfortable. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from in town for an evening meal and there was the pub opposite if we had not wanted to go back into town. The breakfast was first rate. Overall a comfortable, clean and well run hotel" (99007570)

    "this hotel is more a B & B than a hotel, the location is excellent for a racing visit and the staff were friendly but I object to paying 5* prices just because of a good location." (97483283)

    excellent location for cheltenham racecourse. 15 mins walk by the side of the racecourse.close proximity to several good small pubs.excellent breakfasts.

    The website showed four poster rooms, antiques etc but our room in the coachhouse resembled a motorway services type room, no character.Being a Cheltenham weekend we knew the price would be higher, but we paid 5* prices for poor facilities, No bar after 8pm or on sundays, no food or bar snacks available although the helpful waitress did go and hunt down some crisps to have with our drinks.

    "This started off as a one night stay and we ended up staying an extra two nights ,that's how much we enjoyed our stay.A really lovely very clean bedroom , outstanding breakfast and staff who are very caring and friendly.The house has amazing character and charm full of interesting paintings and photographs about it's past.A definate for stay there again ."     "I had a really good feel about Prestbury House when I received their confirmation letter, as well as extra hotel and local area information ,so quickly after booking.No dissapointments either on arrival . Good staff , warm welcome ,lovely old house ,clean and a very nice comfortable room.As the weather was not exactly good I found the manager very helpful with ideas on where to go.I would definately go back .I also want to see more of the surrounding countryside which looked super.A great stay."     "Located in a small village, Prestbury House offered a comfortable and affordable stay. The hotel did not offer evening meals but The Royal Oak opposite did. Excellent pub and restaurant with a range of real ales and excelent meals. Future guests should always book in advance as it's very busy. Breakfast at the hotel was superb. Also, we particularly liked the hotel information sent to us a week before our stay. Overall, a good experience." (3305477338)

    "If you like hotels who still care about customer service , quality and cleanliness then Prestbury House is for you. The hotel is over 300 years old so we expected that there would not be all the mod cons of a purpose built modern hotel.This is more than made up for by the beauty of the Georgian House itself , the magnificant grounds and views from the garden and the tastefull renovation of the 400 year old Coach House - which was where we stayed. There is even a small library for guests use ! The staff are amazing as they are always available to help with ideas on where to visit and help in any way they can. Yet they are unobtrusive and sometimes you do have to ring the bell for Reception or the Bar but personally I hate hotels where you are tripping over staff every where and not getting any privacy.Breakfasts were a delight and something to definately look forward to. As the web site states there is no restaurant in the evenings and it is obvious that the owners have gone to a lot of trouble in preparing a restaurant list - 23 within 1.5 miles of the hotel! We used The Royal Oak Restaurant which is excellent and opposite the hotel.I think that the Restaurant is part of the Hotel because of the ease of booking a table and our priority treatment and the way the staff of both restaurant and hotel spoke to one another. The hotel also has a system of closing it's bar at around 9.30 and we moved to the Royal Oak lounge bar. This is not a problem as it is as far to walk to the Royal Oak from the hotel bar as it was to walk from our bedroom to the hotel bar . The Royal Oak lounge was great with real ale , really a character place with low beams etc., (they say it is just on 400 years old ! )Would I stay at Prestbury House again - definately YES."     "The hotel was very old fashioned, couldn't understand why we were given a copy of our booking confirmation and directions to the hotel when we arrived! Staff were very helpful especially at breakfast, they laid a table up for us in the garden as it was a sunny day but the sausages were practically raw and the rest had been kept warm for some time."     The gardens were beautifull and the staff helpfull

    very old fashioned, Bar closes at 9pm would have prefered to stay have have a drink in the lovely gardens than go to the pub. however the food in the pub was first class
