    well-decorated room, close to where I needed to be. car park almost empty so no problem with parking (which can sometimes be a problem at this hotel)

    I stay in this hotel 10-12 times a year normally (for several years). I was allocated a recently refurbished room. For the first time I may consider staying somewhere else next time. My room smelled of vomit (clearning staff had obviously left window wide open to remove this smell which meant that it was also cold. I had requested a smoking room but despite very few guests none was available because only part of the hotel was 'open'. The shower tray 'overflowed' but as I was in the shower and needed to leave for a meeting I was unable to ask for help at the time and had to abandon washing my hair. At breakfast tabkes were not laid properly and it seemed I had to request everythng (a spoon, marmalade, sauce)as the buffet was poorly stocked

    Hotel was well placed in new walk

    Very warm despite fan, walls very thin - got woken up by people walking around at 3am because the floorboards were so loud!

    "The stay was adequate for our needs, but the bedroom was tired and needed revamping. The bathroom although very large was furnished with a very cheap bath and shower (something you would pick up at B&Q)We paid £50 through Priceline for room only, breakfast was £10 each and if I'd paid the full price I would have been very disappointed" (108620284)

    All the staff were polite, attentive and helpful, apart from the 5 minute wait at reception before someone arrived. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but did have breakfast which was good. I was given a dble instead of a twin and although a twin wasn't available the receptionist did go out of his way to find a solution for my son and I.

    The wait for service on arrival. Bedroom was huge and adequate but the decor was tired. The hotel itself is like a warren, dark with narrow corridors, numerous stairs and different levels. A nightmare for anyone with any disability - make sure you book a ground floor level.

    A problem occurred on check in, our reservation wasn't found. We had booked an executive double room with BedandBreakfasts.co.uk. The reception staff offered us either a twin room, or a 'smoking' double room. I contacted Bed and Breakfast.co.uk and they assured me that the hotel had the reservation by 9am the morning I made the booking, 4th April. The gentleman then spoke to the reception staff, who then asked us to wait in the bar and they would try to sort something out! Eventually we were given a superior double 'non-smoking' room. The staff were very sorry regarding the 'mix up' The room was adequate.

    On the whole staff were friendly and room was good

    Staff should not assume that when you arrive with someone you are a couple. Arrived with a business colleague.

    Had to ask to be moved as room allocated on arrival was one which had not yet been refurbished to a standard the hotel advertises - very disappointing since our stay was to celebrate my sister's wedding. The room we were moved to was ok but still not up to the standard of other rooms we saw. Would not stay at this hotel again.

    Very comfortable. Also convenient for our purpose - going to De Montfort Hall. Staff extremely pleasant. Breakfast excellent. Good choice of TV programmes -useful to combat noise from party below.

    We were kept awake by a party in the restaurant below. Too late to change rooms.

    Our booking confirmaation was for a DOUBLE room. We even called the hotel to confirm this.We were told that our booking was for a double room. However, when we arrived- it was to a TWIN room with two very small lumpy beds. The wallpaper was hanging off the wall in between the beds. On our first night, we returned to the hotel at around 12.30 am and had to bash on the door for around 5 minutes before it was opened for us. The water pressure was low, as was the shower head- a man of 6ft could not stand underneath it. The photgraphs on the website are not an accurate description of the hotel room we had the misfortune of staying in. Were it not for the fact that the comedy festival was on in the city that wknd- meaning that most hotels were fully booked- we would have checked out and gone elsewhere immediately.

    very nice hotel located in a serene surrounding. The restaurant offers excellent food and the staff are quite efficient. The room is spacious and the bathroom area is very neat. We were pleasantly surprised.

    Smoking room available

    Before booking online range to check that a smoking room would be available, was advised to ring after booking to specify a smoking room. Did so. On arrival was advised no smoking room available. Fortunately it only took about 10 minutes for reception to find one.

    The Staff where brill. Room was nice and clean . with in walking distance of the uni .

    The Hotel was a bit of a maze. But once you found the right set of stairs it was very easy. We had dinner from the bar menu, I had pasta and loved it but my partner did not injoy his as much.

    Good Friday night discounted rate. Good off street parking. Good location, walking to central city.

    Only supplied a single towel to the room, meaning one of us had use a damp towel after showering. High internet cost per day.

    The staff were all friendly and helpful.

    The hot water was luke warm as was the radiator so the room never heated up. The carpet was in need of a clean

    Big room, big bathroom. All the free Freeview channels on TV.

    Breakfast staff were more interested in clearing away than in taking our breakfast order, despite it being an hour before the end of breakfast. Cooked breakfast had clearly been cooked much earlier & kept warm, instead of being freshly cooked. "Double bed" was actually 2 singles made up as one.

    wonderful quaint hotel in lovely area of Leicester

    I requested no feather pillows, and no feather comforter for my own room and room of friend also with allergies. We both were given feathers and so both had bloodshot itchy eyes and sinuses the next day. The hotel clerk did not seem concerned at all, even though my distress was quite visible..and audible.

    The breakfast which was excellent. The location of the hotel was good (quiet)

    The location of the hotel was excellent, as was the standard of the room, food, and helpfullness of the staff.At £50 for a Friday Night Special, I couldn't go wrong !

    The restaurant was the highlight of my stay. Service was excellent with a really well presented meal of delicious fare from a varied menu.
