    Cleanliness, comfortable bed/bedroom, good food. Friendly, efficient reception staff

    Dreadfully slow restaurant service, cramped bathroom in room, no shower over bath (only handheld and on too short a hose to stand up). TV only got BBC 1 and 2

    "Maybe if I had a different room I would've thought this hotel was great. Maybe if I had noticed the issues with the bathroom before I'd unpacked and before I was standing (naked) in the shower I might have asked for a different room and had a better experience. But then again, maybe if the hotel staff had tried out the room for themselves, then I wouldn't have had to." (108764142)

    Room and bathroom were recently decorated and well equipped. The decorative touches made for a step up from the usual identikit hotel rooms. Breakfast was good quality and well presented.

    Though the bathroom looked great it was completely impractical to use. E.g. despite a huge shower screen, the shower head didn't attach to the wall - so hold it yourself or have a bath. The mixer tap on the basin was so close to the wall, that you couldn't get your hand behind it operate the plug mechanism. I could go on...

    Booking ok apart from a phone call the following day informing me that my debit card was not recognised! It was an HSBC debit card. Their new debit cards are no longer switch or maestro but are now called Visa. You should update your booking system.

    Bedroom decor needs updating in line with downstairs. Bathroom had very worn and dirty paintwork and needs overhauling. Room smelt very strongly of "shake n vac" or similar and was too overpowering for me. Staff do not have a good command of English and there was not one English person on duty. Waitress on duty for breakfast did not understand when asked for cutlery and hand gestures had to be used! Also, breakfast buffet was not replenished promptly causing some people to go without juice etc and even the crockery was missing and someone on another table constantly asked for a cereal bowl.

    Both the rooms I stayed in you couldn't open the window and it was really hot. I did get a fan thing on the last couple of days in one room and there was a perminant one in the 2nd room but they were noisey and I didn't want them on at night. Plus they wern't that good! Just let me open the window and your problem will be solved! Everyday I got a new soap and I had only used the old one once - what a waste of money, plus its bad for the environment! The matresses were like sleeping on pebbles in the 1st room, please get new matresses.

    Large room, clean, well equipped. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff.

    Layout of bathroom was unconvenient and compared to the bedroom very small (room 10). Some parts of the bathroom looked new, some parts are old and damaged (bath and light). For me the matrass was a bit too hard. My husband didn't sleep well because of all the noises of other people in the hotel.

    Overall the hotel was very good and had excellent facitlities and a very clean room. This along with a very friendly staff really made it all a very nice experience.

    There were'nt any in particular. My bed as a bit shakey but not bothersome. While check out when I told them they immediately made note to have it checked out.

    the room was lovely and decorated to a high standard. Staff were very polite, and helpful. Couldn't do enough for us.

    Breakfast was good, but scambled eggs was not cooked very well, looked like it was a boiled egg mashed up look like scambled egg. Above all we had a lovely breakfast, service second to none.

    We arrived early from the Airport after flying all night from the USA. We were tired, Your staff went out of there way to find a room for us so we did not have to wait.

    Room was extremeley hot. Sorry to say the shower was rubbish, it was either scalding hot or cold.

    "Pleasant. friendly staff and general feel of the hotel made this a pleasant stay overall. If you are used to big modern bright hotels this may not be for you. If you like a laid back and old fashioned kind of feel then give this a go. Rooms come up a little small but we had ample storage and the toiletries were fine. very clean. Noise from the nearby airport no problem for us as we stayed at the weekend and we only had two flights come over whilst we were there. You may find this a problem at busier times and stay towards the back of the hotel to avoid the noise from the street if you think that may affect your stay. We were down visiting family and for a place to crash after a busy day, this was just fine. We didn't have the full English breakfast and made do with the newspaper supplied so do not know if they still charge you an additional amount if you request another paper or the breakfast."     Position. Staff friendly, if a little slow at breakfast. That is not a complaint as she was busy at the time I guess. problems dealt with straight away.

    Unable to controll shower heat. No hairdryer in room (put right at the front desk).

    "The food in the restaurant was of a good standard and the staff were excellent.The room was small oppressive (dark blue wallpaper) and extremly hot would not like to stop there on a hot summer day. The bedding was old fashion blankets and sheets with a very hard bed." (97303382)

    "My radiator didn't work and I was immediately moved to another room, I'd have prefered it if they'd tried to fix the radiator as I had to lug my stuff to the other room. Breakfast was lovely but the portions were small. Good choice of newspaper for guests, The Times." (97599542)

    the shower was not good: I could not completely stand under the shower (shower at a too low position), the water temperature was not constant (sometimes very hot and a few seconds later cold) and the water pressure was low. furthermore, at the second day there was not enough staff at the breakfast causing a too long witing time

    "Both my wife and I have some disabilities but did not encounter any difficulties during our stay, The staff were sociable and helpful when approached we have no complaints" (99373577)

    The accomodation was to my wife and I's satisfaction.

    The only negative point for me was the bed was a little too soft for me as I suffer from arthritis in the spine and use a firmer bed at home.
