    "Overall we enjoyed our stay, the hotel was very quiet even with a wedding taking place on the Saturday and lots of guests staying over. The setting of the hotel was lovely in 11 acers of park land." (108751671)

    Hotel room was very comfortable, food was good & plentiful. especially liked the late breakfast times Saturday till 11am & Sunday till 12 noon.

    On arrival were given a twin room with disabled shower only (no bath) at the back of the hotel with no outlook. Also room was very warm, think it was next to a boiler house or similar, We complained and were given a much nicer room at the front of the Hotel, got the feeling they were trying to off-load the disabled room.

    Good breakfast

    Room was very noisy due to a generator/kitchen equipment just outside our bedroom window. We asked to change room 4 times and were told there were no more rooms available. As we were checking out, we complained and the lady was suprised and said there was a very nice room which was cancelled last minute that we could have used, we were less than amused... Also a person decided to hit/knock at our door at 4am which woke us up and stopped us from sleeping the rest of the night. Could only use the tiny pool early in the morning as was very packed, jacuzzi was broken and when could use it water was literally boiling and had to be watered with water from the hose...

    Room lovely - very clean and as we expected

    On booking I explained we had an adult with special needs and mobility problems and when we arrived we had been given a room on the 3rd floor with no lift available. We were moved to a room on the 1st floor with about 20 steps to negotiate. OK and just manageable. There was a stair lift but I would have had to leave my daughter and go out of sight to reception to ask someone to come & work the lift for us - not safe to leave her at the top of a flight of steps! A phone link to reception would be useful. Breakfast very disappointing! 1st morning - no orange juice and very little choice on the buffet with quite a few people queuing so felt obliged to take only very small amounts so there was plenty for others - i.e. 1 sausage ½tomato 1 slice bacon. Many other guests complaining. Also had to sort through the plates to find a clean one. 2nd morning - no mushrooms, no eggs no orange juice, had to drain the grapefruit juice by tipping the container. When I asked for more I was told that was all that was available as they were waiting for a delivery! Sainsbury’s is only a short journey away! Again several dirty plates in the pile on the buffet. Receptionist never smiled or said good evening on either evening when we returned to the hotel - we were ignored even though there was no one else in the reception area and I said good evening to her!

    Nice surroundings.

    Mal-informed receptionst, needed help from colleague. Same problems at check-out. Poor service during dinner. Very very annoyed with level of noise overnight: banging doors, etc... Room looked out on brick wall!

    Hotel set in nice surroundings; Staff were pleasant and helpfu; Good breakfasts and evening meal.

    Unpleasant smell in grounds - caused we think by stagnant pond! When a power cut occurred on Sat evening - only a tea light was given when we asked(some guests had none. Flush on loo was wobbly and didn't work well. There were dead flies/wasp on the window sill. We noticed cobwebs in the dining area.

    Nice grounds. Great breakfast and "sleepy sundays" are a fab idea.

    Put into an attic room - no air conditioning and bathroom claustrophobic.

    "We had a relatively short stay and obviously the management were unaware of our purpose, I was interested to find out that other residents had pre booked taxis for transport to the racecourse. I booked a parking permit for the racecourse but it would have been easier to have used a standard fee taxi service as we were unfamiliar with the road systems" (3305490299)

    As a non smoker there was no disguised 'after smells' from other smoking residents, similarly wiyh the lounge area.

    There was no view from the windows which was a pity because of the lovely surroundings.

    1st room offered had a very strong smell of cleaning fluids, 2nd room also smelled but was not so overpowering. We were not impressed with the bed in the 2nd room as it was a foldaway bed and not very comfortable.

    "A very well maintained hotel which appeared to have been recently decorated. This was a pleasant surprise as some older buildings that are turned into hotels, look in need of work.     Pre-dinner, the TV in the lounge was too loud and intrusive, but that's being picky.

    "I think some sort of input on the rooms we were being given would have been nice. I quite understand that the hotel was probably fairly full, especially as there was a wedding there on the night we stayed, but it was a bit difficult dealing with the sink when you have a bad back!! However I do think the standard of room was good and the location is superb." (3305091419)

    The hotel was in a lovely location and the room was very clean with good catering facilities.

    For some reason we were given disabled access rooms which meant the sink in the bathroom was far too low. Also the view from the window was non existent.

The prices of some things were high and I think a bit overcharged.
