    Beautiful setting

    Too many to mention. On the whole I was very disappointed as it was my partner's birthday - he proposed to me that evening and we wanted it to be very special. I asked for a sea view when booking online and when we got to the hotel was told we didn't have a sea view but could have one if we paid another £40! I find this totally unacceptable.

    Lovely Position, Exellent reception and facilities, Staff were very helpful and made us feel very welcome and the food was of the highest standard and served with a smile.

    A slight misunderstanding over the booking of one evening meal which left us in an embarassing situation of having to go elsewhere for our evening dinner. This was sorted next day by very good management action. The room, whilst perfectly adequate, seemed a little 'Tired' decore wise. Wine a little pricey for what was on offer.

    Good location Good sized room

    Bed was extremely uncomfortable-the worst I ever slept in - the floor was softer! The self service breakfast-the cooked food was hardly warm!

    Great location, great in-room facilities (tv & iron especially handy), restaurant was great - well priced and service was excellent. I was grateful for the free wireless access - a nice touch that hotels often forget.

    "I booked this hotel on recommendation. It was my 35th Wedding Anniversary and this was a surprise for my lady wife. I had arranged for: Flowers in room on arrival - not there! Chocolates in room on arrival - arrived later! Asked to be contacted by the chef to arrange something special for dinner - did not happen! Was advised on booking that treatments at the spa could be done on the day - fully booked on arrival! As my Coral Anniversary only comes around every 35yrs I tried to make it special by choosing a sea side hotel and spa. What a mistake!" (99616321)

    The room, view , comfort and facilities was very good

    No instruction in room as to how to work TV control ; unable to view SKY facility for 40 mins after arrival . Terrible night's sleep due to loud function music below bedroom going on until midnight ; unable to sleep from 10.30pm . Drunken guests then accessed bedroom on our corridoor keeping us awake until approx. 12.45am

    Lovely room with great view over the harbour, including a balcony with deck chairs. The room itself was modern but cosy, nice bathroom and modern flat screen tv.

    "We stayed one night only and attended a wedding reception at the hotel.We did not have the opportunity to use all of the leisure facilities of the hotel. Had we thought about our stay beforehand we would have liked to have extended our visit to a couple of nights at least to take advantage of the many facilities on offer.It would have made the break more enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent and I would have liked the opportunity to sample the cuisine in the restaurants." (3305283149)

    All staff we encountered were geuinely pleasant and helpful. Terrific location with sea views.Our room was automatically upgraded to a room with a sea view but still at the standard tariff.

    No instructions for the operation of the state of the art plasma. We could not even activate it.

    "Overall the hotel was satisfactory but felt the room was over priced considering its location at the back of the hotel and on the top floor with no lift to that floor. Food in the main dining room was acceptable in the main but some vegetables not cooked sufficiently. In the other restaurant the food was excellent as was the service and attention to detail. When a mistake was made with one order the matter was dealt with immediately with apologies and rectified.The most enjoyable meal of our stay." (3305477180)

    Bathroom facilities

    Room pn top floor and not up to the top of the range price charged. Noise from adjacent room. Poor lighting in bedroom.Breakfast self service and hot food had been on display for some time. Would have preferred to have cooked part of breakfast cooked to order.

    Very clean and comfortable, staff very helpful.

    View, we accepted that we did not have a sea view, but did not expect to be overlooking a blue corrugated roof.

    "The information provided on the web site was pretty informative and the staff were very helpful providing us with any other information and directions when asked." (3304976196)

    It was right by the sea and there were lots of facilities. We were treated with courtesy and friendliness. Food was good too.

    Nothing really but we were there in very hot waether - the room was pretty warm - could do with air con. Having said that when I asked about a room with air con and there werent any available we were provided with a fan!!!

    "This is a really nice hotel in a lovely location. The staff were polite and helpful. The room was pretty standard and you are paying for the view, which predictably costs extra, which in summer when the days are longer is worth it.     "The rooms vary in size, but even the smaller of the 2 rooms was adequate for our needs, and both had balconies. The hotel staff were generally helpful. The reception staff were very helpful and advised us in advance of potential noise from one of the function rooms due to a wedding reception. In the event we didn't hear any noise - the function ended before midnight, and there was no noise from other rooms that I've experienced in other hotels. The service at the 2 bars didn't quite match the service elsewhere in the hotel, particularly the club lounge bar, they just didn't seem quite as organised as elsewhere in the hotel. One particular problem trying to order a sandwich, but after a 45 minute wait we gave up. The main restaurant seems to close at 9.00pm so we ate in La Roche on 2 occassions. (The menu in La Roche was basically the same on the two consecutive nights, although the menu in the main restaurant did appear to be different on the 2 nights.) The food in La Roche was excellent and the restaurant staff, particularly Claude and Delphine were very helpful. It is somewhere that we would definitely return to." (3305077055)

    The position and location were excellent,over looking the entrance to pool harbour. Our non sea view room had a sea view.

    The heated towel rail in the bath room wouldn't turn off, which wouldn't normally be too bad, except the weather was particularly hot during our stay.

    The location and excellent restaurants

    The bedroom door had to be wedged as the door was too small for the frame so rattled all the time when the windows were open. The staf are very friendly but quite a few of the male waitors did not understand basic english.

    "The difficulty in accessing a space in the car park was apparent on my arrival at 2pm on Thursday. I was using the hotel as base to visit my brother in a local nursing home a short car journey away, so this was a continual nuisance. I found myself planning my day around when I could get back into the car park rather than fulfilling my personal choice of timing. This meant I only ate once in the hotel having expected to take all my meals there." (3305000330)

    "Location of The Havan and the accommodation are superb.Facilities within the Hotel are also of a very high standard apart from the resteraunt. Aside from the fact that we had a fire drill in the middle of the 2 course meal on the Sunday evening that I was there I did not feel that it was value for money. The menu mentioned 'crab cakes' although when the course arrived there was only 1 cake! The quality of that cake was very good however I think it is stretching things a bit to present one. Even with the fire drill the interval between courses was too long.I can't understand either why the Brasserie was closed on a Sunday and also on the Monday in high season. I would much rather have preferred to order something from their menu rather than have to have a set 2/3 couse meal in the resteraunt.I also think the service, in the past, has been much higher in the Brasserie."     The rooms are always well set out with lots of convenience items; i.e TV,ironing facilities, hairdryer,etc.Power shower is the best that I've come across in a hotel bathroom.

    "The most outstanding feature was the staff. They were wonderful from the moment we checked in to the time we left. The room was nice, but for a 4 star not quite up to scratch with no fridge and that awful ceiling. However, nit picking aside, I woudl visit again, the overall position and ambience was wonderful.     Clean, fairly comfortable, nice bathroom and balcony.

    Ceiling tiles looked cheap. No blackout over second door by wardrobe (room 122). Balcony in need of a little cleaning/painting
