    "An enjoyable experience especially as we were upgraded to a sea view suite. It was recommened that we stay on half board instead of B&B because it was only £10 extra each per night. A bargain!" (108888849)

    Bathroom

    bedroom full of old dated furniture and equipment. TV poor picture. No LUXURY element in room. Window dirty, noise from ajoining room. Food in restuarant adequate but 2nd meal poor quality and not cooked. Difficult to get someone to take order for drink. Cream tea - microwaved supermarket scones. Treatment room not open Wed and left message at 9am thurs did not get reponse til I was on train home at 3.30pm

    "The choice of rooms I could opt for as a solo business traveller. There should be some way of assessing the quality of the room you are booking (by visual information or otherwise). this is a recurring problem with internet bookings although I must admit I am usually pleasantly surprised. Supper - food was good. Wine list disappointing." (97859257)

    Not much. I booked having taken the recommendation of operators on room type but found the room to be disappointing and asked for an upgrade (which I was prepared to pay for). I was told you were full but you were not full at the time of booking.

    "This hotel is over priced for what purports to be a nice hotel also they failed at any point on the web or on the phone to advise us that the hotel would be busy with a wedding" (97222304)

    The Duty Manager Mike went some way to try and make our stay better but could have done more.

    First impressions a full car park - a cramped reception area which doesn,t allow people space to get through with bags - a lift that goes to the second floor - a loud extractor outside the second room which kept me awake - silverfish found on the bedding

    Location of hotel next to beach, adequate parking, nice bar, were given a large family room.

    Way too expensive for the quality of the hotel. Decor in need of upgrading.

    "Overall we had a good time and our son was well entertained. However, thought the prices were very expensive. Forced to dine in the restaurant on the set menu when the brasserie was closed for a function. The hotel should have some flexibility when this is the case.     lovely spacious room, confortable big bed and beautiful views of the coastline and generous size flat tv.

    The old fashion hair-dryer belongs to a lower rate hotel!

    The facilities were clean and comfortable although boardering on basic for a four star hotel. The linen, towels and room were clean and the room adaquate for our needs. Food was at a good standard and the staff were friendly and professional.

    "The family room was well above expectation. Spacious and clean. Would be able to fit older children as well. The hotel restaurant looked a bit too formal for families with small children at dinner time. The reception was kind enough to say it was OK but we went to a cafe next door(Kids were wearing wellies!). Definitely bringing more NEAT apparel next time." (97179993)

    An idyllic location adjacent to the beach. My room and bathroom were very clean.

    The trymnaium could have been bigger and have had more equipment. The indoor pool looked a little shabby.

    "Perhaps more ability to choose which part of the hotel to stay in. Quiet area ... which floor etc. We have holidayed many times in the area over the last 12 years and never stayed at the Sandbanks. In comparison to the others I wouldn't particularly rate it 4* .. more like 3*. Overall I was pretty disappointed." (99392141)

    The evening meal was OK.

    We were in a room in an awkward part of the hotel. As there was a function that evening we were told a crazy route of how to get to/from our room without having to walk through a function suite (apparently the main way to the 'new block'), which was being used that evening. This encompassed having to go up one floor in a lift, across a landing, and down to the ground floor in another lift. We got completely lost. When addressing this with the Receptionist the following morning they said there was another route! The room was OK but I wouldn't want to stay in it during a busy period as it was facing directly on to the childrens play area. This seemed to me to be a family block of rooms.

    "Our stay was fantastic, I would have prefered the beach view rather than the harbour view but this did not spoil our experience. The hotel was clean, organised and very well run.     The location is the main reason why you would stay at this hotel - its right on the beach. Childrens facilities good also

    Its not a pretty hotel, but the front terrace is lovely and looks over the beach, the main rooms are modern and are in fact fine. The location is fantastic

    Peach of a location with hotel fronting onto the beach. Stayed on business, will defintley return for a family weekend stay.

    "We were recommended this hotel by our relatives. It lived up to our expectations being very efficient,friendly and welcoming. Our only problem was with the heating in our room. This would seem to be because it was at the end of an extension ? and as the heating was not on during the day when it came on at 6.30 pm it was too late to warm the room. The staff were very helpful in rapidly bringing us a separate convection heater. But a cold room in winter is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel !!" (3304283198)

    Friendliness and efficiency of the staff. We had asked for and were given a quiet room.

    Maintenance of facilities in room. Nice large room but only 1 heating radiator which was inadequate. Bathroom also lacking in heat. The heating in the room was inadequate for the cold winter afternoon and evening. But on request for an additional heater we received it within 5 minutes.

    check that everything works properly i.e. TV and for a 4 star hotel there were no bath robes, air conditioning etc.. We normally stay at the Harbour Heights for about the same money but the Sandbanks doesn't even come close.

    Sea view was excellent

    Room service. The food ordered had been reheated, but not completely. On the plus side when I commented (note not complained)on it at reception when checking out they cancelled the cost of the meal.
