    "We loved it - we wanted a peaceful getaway from having 3 children with us - it was really friendly - waitresses were fantastic at all times - check in was easy, check out would have been easier if I'd have found the bell alot easier (stood for 15 mins waiting for someone to sign us out and pay). Overall 8.5 out of 10." (108922308)

    The food was excellent - fantastic evening meal - lovely and quiet which is exactly what we wanted. Breakfast was excellent too.

    Shower was very noisy, as was ALL the "waterworks" surrounding the bedroom (no 1) - to the point where when the next room flushed their toilet (I think) it sounded like it was refilling in about 5 rooms.

    Nice to have kettle for hot drinks, and a hairdryer.

    Only one bath towel supplied in bathroom for two guests.

    "Overpriced and filthy in terms of accomodation. Even with the wedding rate of £89 for a twin room, it was worse quality than a cheap B&B where you would pay for example £30 per night. I would only stay in future if it was seriously overhauled though the main areas of the hotel were lovely." (108818157)

    The actual hotel areas - bars, restaurant areas - were lovely and homely.

    Room had clearly not been cleaned for some time - thick dust on furniture, lighting and even the carpet was covered in dust !! Some members of staff completey failed to raise a smile during our time at the hotel which was over a 24 hour period.

    The general good quality throughout.

    The TV picture was not as clear as it should have been. The main problem was the fact that our booking was lost and when we called to confirm our arrrival time on the day the hotel had no record of us. Luckily the staff were very helpful and there was still space at the hotel.

    Staff were helpful and very pleasant. Bed was comfortable and facilities were adequate, for our stay. Breakfast was delicious! It was also a nice surprise to find that we'd been given a four-poster room...

    Nothing about the stay could have been referred to as being 'bad'.

    Price was good,as it was on special offer. Very pleased with that.

    One bad point..... no toilet roll holder attached, just the fitment on bathroom wall, which was odd.

    Staff very welcoming, service overall very good. Wine at £14+ odd was good value and delicious. Cooked breakfast good, buffet breakfast poor and limited. Would stay again at the £75 a room rate.

    Dinner: tries to be what it cannot deliver, too many dishes on offer which leads me to believe that there may have been a bit of a Brakes element. Would probably not take dinner there again.

    staff attitude brilliant. Breakfast very good with local food in evidence, well cooked

    carpet in dining room smelt like it needed a good clean. Bathroom taps badly set in sink and unpredictable (no water then a soaking) and shower barely a dribble

    the staff were very nice,breakfast on first morning was everything we asked for.

    the shower was terrible i was lucky that i got some water coming out after about five minutes and the noise it made was terrible, also breakfast the second day my husband asked for 2 eggs and was told he could only have one as there was only enough for 1 per guest which i thought was bad for a hotel of this size.

    A nice large room with plenty of good towels (not always the case in other hotels). Very comfortable. Tasty food served in bar (evening) and nicely cooked breakfast (other than coffee - see below)

    Coffee at breakfast not very nice - would be nice if it was Douwe Egberts or similar good brand. Due to position of window it was not advisable to leave it open for security reasons which could be a problem in the summer.

    The hotel was flexible over our early arrival and had our room ready even though there had been a weeding the night before with some late departures

    The evening meal was only average and not up to the superlatives of the advertising.
