    "For the cost of the weekend at the hotel, it was exremely disapointing and the experience we had at our first time at a Ramada Jarvis Hotel will probably be out last, unless there is no other option available." (107751196)

    The hotel was clean with a welcoming bar area.

    Our room was incredibly small for a double, with a view of a wall and an air conditioning unit just a few feet away that switched on and off all night, resulting in disturbed sleep. We were also disappointed with the evening meal on the Friday evening. As a vegetarian the only option I had from the buffet was pasta with spinnich and tomatoes. It was awful and would be something I would throw away at home rather than eat it. I left the resturant hungry.

    Excellent staff particularly in the restaurant - really happy and helpful - nothing was too much trouble - extremely helpful. Good and varied range at breakfast. Good pool and facilities.

    Room extremely hot the first night - even with supplied fan. No extractor or ventilation in the bathroom. Eating in-house was very expensive.

    Overall very good.

    Fire alarm going off at 5.40am and staying on for an hour!!!!! Fully appreciate that these things happen but some sort of explanation or apology would have been appreciated. No one seemed to know what was going on!!

    Very clean, good food. Restaurant staff were patient and had a sense of humour.

    No biscuits or hot chocolate drink in the room. TV took a long time to get where you wanted. Staff in restaurant sometimes confused, forgetting to give rolls, desert spoons...

    "I had to have my car repaired close by, and chose this hotel for myself and my 10 year old son for convenience purposes. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. I also found the information in the room on other Ramada hotel locations within the UK very useful. The details about the areas to visit gave me several ideas for our next UK holiday." (108060000)

    Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Our remote control had flat batteries upon our arrival in our room and the maintenance staff sorted it out immediately. The room was quiet and comfortable.

    The dining menu was a bit on the pricey side, but overall excellent quality.

    friendly staff

    staff completely ineffective - smile beautifully but unable to sort things out - we had wedding guests making a row under our window until 4am. The guy on reception was polite when telephoned but failed to quieten or move noise makers in any way. we had electrical items not working. Unsure when bathroom floor last washed. Towels only out for one person - reception staff disbelieving about this and had to be shown empty bag where spares should be.

    "There should be a system to hang the bath towels up to dry/air so that one might use them both in the evening and the following morning. Advice about what the facility could offer, and whether this would be at an additional charge should be more readily accessible, both on-line and in the room.     The evening reception/managerial staff were extremely helpful.

    It seemed to have only been set up for one person, in spite of having been booked for two. Therefore such things as only one set of towels had been put out. Some of the food was over-cooked and dried out.

    Duvets provided rather than sheets and blankets. Good standard of food and good choice.

    Room too hot, unable to have window open due to noise from nearby busy road. Air conditioning machine but too near bed.

    The lounge area was cosy, with warm lighting, christmas carols in the background playing softly. Large sofas. I felt quite at home here.

    swimming and sauna is a hotel shortlist item for us along with buffet breakfast. The standard at this hotel was good dispite two weddings scheduled for the saturday. If this performance can be maintained under pressure (?) then its the hotel for us.

    water leaking out of the bath overflow! A novelty though.

    Room was very noisy since it overlooked the busy A31. On a warm night it is necessary to open the window to cool the room thus making the noise worse. This hotel needs airconditioning to solve this problem. Road access was difficult and dangerous.A request to change the room was denied.

    the pool and seb coe centre staff were brilliant

    it took 45 minutes to get a cheese ploughmans form the bar - not acceptable - couldnt find any staff to chase it up either so ended up eating incredibly late once they brought it to our room as we were fed up with waiting in the bar for it

    Spacious -ie not a tiny room- and comfortable bed.

    Out-dated decor. Needs fresh new carpets and neutral colour paint. Breakfast was poor. A bit noisy - better double glazing needed.

    "The leisure pool was lovely but if it hadn't been for that we would have spent most of our stay in the hotel room as there is nothing else to do there. It was a shame that there were no gardens avaliable to the hotel. We were dissappointed that the hotel bar was shut on both evenings one of which was a friday night when we came back from nearby town. We did however manage a drink in there on the Saturday night and found the staff friendly and helpful. just very quiet.. perfect hotel for people that want a quiet break or are stoppng overnight for an event nearby. I will say having a 24 hour garage a few hundred yards away was a big plus as we did request newspapers but didn't get any and room service is extreamly high. We did have a nice stay, but probably could have left a day earlier, 2 nights would have been enough." (99723256)

    large comfortable room

    lack of staff, bar was always shut late in the evening (we were told after the night porter would have served us) and the leisure pub was never open, which was a shame as the weather was lovely. Also having no gardens avaliable.

    "I cannot fault the hotel apart from the tiny opening window in the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel - although it may be quite stuffy and hot in the summer months. The late check out was great and the option of 24hr room service a real bonus. The health club facilities were also much appreciated. Overall, excellent value for money." (99032805)

    The small window did not have sufficient air flow when open. Bar drinks prices inflated.
