    Some members of staff were very good.

    no manager available, although signs said no smoking room room did smell of stale cigarettes. Paint smells throughout but a refurbishment was underway. No toast at breakfast and when waiting for service at the breakfast area three members of staff just stood around.... I work in the customer service industry and a lot of the failings of the hotel could be overcome by the things that are free (people skills) attend to people, smile, if you dont know the answer say so and go and ask.

    Fairly nice hotel with good location.

    What we reacted against was the performance of the staff. Nobody was interested in helping us, the reception staff acted as if they wanted to get rid of us as fast as possible. We had really bad reception on the TV and we couldn´t find any news channels so we called the reception and asked about that. We got an uninterested answer that you had only old TV´s and that you were going to renew the system so we would have to put up with it, period. There was a big spider in one og the beds and the room had only towels for one person, so we had to call about that too.

    the staff on check in were excellent and couldnt have been more helpful

    there was only one larger on draft all others were not available, when sitting with family in the lounge area it was full of young people with laptops bags and their belongings all over with no shoes or socks on and feet up on the tables and chairs this wasnt a nice environment to sit in. there was no bacon eggs yogurts or fruit available at breakfast and we had to wait some time for these

    My wife and I have stayed at this hotel many times. We have always found the the standards to be very high. The staff are excellent and they are always ready to help.

    "Moderate to poor. We often stay in cheap local hotels - where the service is personal, better - fresh cooked breakfast, etc. This so called Quality hotel lacked the Quality available in lower class hotels and in Travel-lodge type chains. Overall = below par. " (107947578)

    Quality Hotel Clubcard didn't produce any perks - Why have a clubcard?

    "The hotel was great for accessing Wigan however we found the level of cleanliness not acceptable the bathroom smelt of mill dew and there was dust on the skirting boards Breakfast would have been fine had some one been on duty all the time cleaning up as people took their food the whole area resembled a bun fight there was staff on hand but they kept comming and going from the kitchen more going than actually spening time in the food area" (107291409)

    Central to Wigan Car was secure The night porter was a lovely chap who arranged some pizza and drinks he was the only memeber of staff who we could say was polite and went out of his way

    While boking in the receptionist was not very polite We were put on the 1st floor at the very end of the corridor and there were rooms nearer The bathroom smelt of mill dew and had not ben cleaned correctly There was dust on the skirting boards The interior of the room was very old hat we expected a more up todate interior compared with other hotels we stay in - we have paid

    "adequate if that is the market you are aiming for, the service particularly over breakfast needs attention e.g no welcome, no tables free of clutter(whilst staff read the news paper!) I have stayed a lot in the USA and the sevice there is to be admired you feel like you matter !     "Provided a comfy bed for the night & a bit of food in morning which was all we needed. From what we saw it was easily the best Wigan had to offer on the hotel front. Can't expect top quality for " (97986171)

    Buffet breakfast was good. Room was comfy enough with the usual selection of coffee/tea, TV etc.

    Bar was shut when we returned at midnight - might have expected this 10 years ago but not today. Lack of information on hotel facilities & locality in room. Staff, particularly at breakfast were not the cheeriest of souls.

    "Booked it for it's proximity to the JJB stadium, which was within 20 minutes' walking distance. The hotel is easy to find, the rooms are clean, if basic, the staff are friendly and it was reasonably priced. Good breakfast!" (97659911)

    Too near to a lift that made permanent grinding noise on arrival on floor, this was particularly noticeable during early hours as people returned to the hotel. It made sleeping difficult

    "Not informed that there were no restaraunt/bar facilities prior to checking in. After a long and tiresome drive we were dismayed that we had no refreshments apart from tea/coffee in the room.     "The first room we were put into was freezing cold, (it had been snowing and raining outside and we had traveled 100 miles by motorcycle)as the radiator / heating was not working.This was not able to be rectified so we were moved to another room after about an hour.
