    easy chek in, homely feel...Lovely room

    Lighting over the sink and in the bathroom kept flickering and at one point the sink light stopped altogether

    Very convenient location for trains, buses, restaurants, and cinema. Quiet location. Good food. Plenty of hot water and comfortable bed.

    Excellent for single traveller but space is at a premium. Probably a little cramped for two people (at least my room was).

    Cheap compared to many Cambridge B&Bs, beds comfortable, general cleanliness good.

    Room left unlocked, and with street-level windows wide open after cleaning (discovered upon return to room at midnight!), using kettle whilst TV on caused sparks from socket, very bad smell from shower.

    Room was clean

    20 minute wait to get into building, ceiling too low - I'm only 5'11, but kept banging my head on the ceiling - all the furniture was rickety, heating was inadequate, the kettle was broken, the cold water tap was broken, the shower trickled rather than ran, the car park was impossible to find, the bed was uncomfortable - I can't be bothered going on

    A quiet hotel,even though it's on a main bus route into the city, with stops only a few yards from the hotel. A leisure centre with multiplex cinema, several restaurants etc is only about 15 minutes walk away. Rooms are clean, water is hot and breakfasts are good. Staff are friendly.

    Although my room had a double bed (very comfortable) the room was really only big enough for a single person. The main lights in the shower cubicle and also in the toilet/washroom were not working(though the light over the wash basin was O.K.). As I only stayed for two nights, this didn't inconvenience me, though I did mention it when I left.

    Clean. Pleasant staff. Quiet.

    Inadequate shower - very low pressure and variable temperature. Most of the electrical devices including a room heater were connected via extension leads trailing round the room from a socket - would have been more reassured with more wall sockets in the room. Limited breakfast menu.

    Hot5el was clean and so were the rooms. Breakfast excellent

    I had booked the room with a four poster bed and jaccuzzi. When we arrived I was told I was not allocated that room. When I pointed out I had booked this and had it confirmed on the internet the young man said I would have to speak to the owner as he had allocated someone else to that room. However afetr my persistance he rang the owner who agreed tht I should occupy the Four Poster Bed room. I understood from the young man looking after the place that at least two couples had been booked into the room, he didn`t really know what was going on as his wife ran the Guest House and she was away that day. However we eventually had the room we booked for . Later I was to be dissapointed becuse the jaccuzzi wasn`t infact working.

    Clean and well maintained. Location convenient to public transport. Car parking available.

    Distance and security of car parking. Approximately 40minutes walk to city centre.

    Very good location and landlady was very flexible and friendly. The room was clean and had the basics expected

    Continental breakfast was a bit poor for the price and my partner complains that the food was reheated when he ordered an English breakfast. Room was very small and mattress was noisy , decoration was not my taste.

    Shower blocked, not resolved whilst we were there. Toilet limescale stained. Television quality poor and no instructions for use. Bedroom far too small for a four poster (and squeaking) bed. Room hired as a double but in reality only a single. Curtains too small for windows. Limited breakfast choice offered

    Very clean, new facilities, reasonable breakfast, helpful staff.

    Very cramped room. I was put into the uppermost room, a tiny converted loft, with extremely limited head height (I could only stand up in the centre of the room), and short beds (uncomfortable for me, at 6 foot 1 tall). Surprising that these hobbit's quarters are sold at the same rate as other rooms.

    Our room was lovely, it was very pretty and felt very cosy.

    Breakfast is 7.30 - 8.30 and we slept through it, think it would be better if it was 8-9.30.

    "The hotel is located near the centre of town and to the Cambridge train station. I'm an active person so didn't mind the 30 mins or so it took to walk to the city centre. But there's a bus service right outside the front door running every 10 mins for those who don't need the exercise. There's a new deli next door with very friendly staff and a phone booth across the street - I couldn't figure out how to dial out on the room phone. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay there and would definitely stay there again if I get the opportunity to return to Cambridge." (97145115)

    Everything was very neat and tidy and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

    Some stranger trying to open my door at 3am in the morning!! Not hotel's fault.

    The internet didn´t work most of the time, twin room was too small, no hair drier, no soap, a bit too far from the location of my conference.

    it was ok.

    the breakfast was not very good, the mushrooms were not cooked and the bacon was overcooked, infact it was creamated.

    "The accommodation is on a busy road but you don't realise how busy until you try to get to sleep! The car park is down a badly lit lane which was a bit scary in the dark. Lots of character in the hotel. Hosts were very pleasant." (97501000)

    Excellent breakfast and very good location near to our daughters college.

    The room was very hot and there was no way of turning down the radiators as the controls were missing. We had to open the window wide all night and have the fan on to help us sleep.

    Nice and warm and quiet.

    Grumpy staff. Wasnt given any choice at breakfast so hadnt a clue what was on offer. Staff had a very dishevelled look at breakfast,not even bothered to comb hair, very off putting.

    The bed was comfortable and the room clean and tidy

    The breakfast was not as we had thought from other reviews. We asked for sausages and were told by the owner don't do sausages. Otherwise it was o.k.

    Room was very nice, four poster bed and nice decor.

    Breakfast was only served for an hour between 7.30 and 8.30 a.m.

    "We have stayed in this hotel twice in recent weeks. The first time we had a ground floor room which, although comfortable and nicely decorated, was quite small with very little room to move around. The second time we had a first floor room with a four-poster bed which was much larger and lighter. On both occasions we had tea and coffee making facilities in the room which we found very useful. Staff were helpful and courteous and the breakfasts were good with a full English if wanted. It is a long way into Cambridge by foot (about 2 miles) but the number 3 bus stops just outside the hotel. (every 10 minutes during the day and 30 minutes in the evening)so that was not really a problem. There is off-street parking very close by and a pull-in outside to unload. All-in-all a good cosy place to stay and explore Cambridge from." (99358498)
