    "Loved it and would stay there again . Our son lives in Taunton but he is in the armed forces and so we cannot stay overnight with him and would have to have a hotel room." (108172838)

    Very nice room . very friendly staff , very quiet location. All round pleasant environment to be in...

    none really but if I had to be picky a bar for residents could be nice. We travelled down very late a fancied a few drinks but we got the impression that things at the hotel shut down around 11pm. Not really a bad point though.

    Lovely room. Staff pleasant and helpful. Nice breakfast.

    My husband loved the shower but I prefer a bath and missed their not being one. Bread rolls at breakfast would have been appreciated although there was toast.

    Great location for the town centre. Lovely room 11. Breakfast was just right. Will stay again when next on business.

    "The hotel was very comfortable and the staff being very friendly made the stay all that much better. I thought the price was a little high (this has been the most expensive hotel I have had to stay at overnight just to visit friends) but overall with the free internet access and the breakfast included in the price it's well worth it. Being close to the train station as well also is a very big advantage with fast food restaurants very close by (I am unable to comment on the actual quality of the breakfast as I did not attend breakfast)."     Staff were EXTREMELY helpful and friendly when I had called the hotel to make enquiries as well as on the day for check-in. I had requested check-in at a much earlier time and the staff were only too pleased to try and help. The room was nice, good TV reception, very clean shower and a comfortable bed.

    The hotel granted free access (included in the room price) of wireless Internet however, I had some trouble being able to connect both with my laptop and my blackberry. Was not a major issue however.

    The hotel was in very good order and the car park was excellent.

    The breakfast was very dissordered, there was no system for when the tables were all full and if you waited in the lounge other guests took your table. No bar.

    Very clean

    toilet roll ran out and no spare was supplied. The "views over Taunton" were of the hotel car park.

    "Nothing really the hotel was exactly what we needed for a couple of nights stay,as all we wanted was somewhere clean friendly and central." (97170088)

    The hotel is only a few hundred yards out of town & the staff were on hand only if you needed them,very relaxing.

    The lighting in our room was a little poor,our only problem.

    "Hotel has good parking, and is convenient for the centre of Taunton and restaurants etc. Rooms are very comfortable and breakfast is good. However, I would describe this as an upmarket guest house rather than a hotel. Good of its type (although not cheap), but no bar or restaurant, and no hotel atmosphere" (97013950)

    Windows were locked shut: had to ask for heating to be turned down.

    This is a class establishment. I would recomend Salisbury House to anyone.

    Had a fire alarm due to power failure, not the fault of the Hotel, however.

    "Fine. Good value for money and very central for Taunton. Was able to leave my car at hotel whilst at work which was a good plus. Did not like not having a small window I could leave open at night (was on ground floor and by myself so reluctant to leav a large window open). Carpet and soft furnishings a bit old fashioned but everything was comfortable, clean and spacious. Staff were helpful and breakfast service was quick" (99399060)

    No small opening windows on ground floor room so I did not feel it was safe to sleep with window open

    Although close to a busy road, the hotel was quiet and relaxing.

    "A very well appointed hotel, very comfortable and clean. The second time we have been there. Good breakfast and facilities. Could be noisy from traffic on the busy road at the front. We asked specifically for a back facing room and were given one." (99127449)

    Relaxed and efficiently run. Very clean and well presented.

    Nothing. It failed to get top marks in the working order of equipment section because of a faulty switch on a side lamp which flashed alarmingly when switched on. The owners were made aware of it by us.

    It was spotlesssly clean. Full english breakfasts were good. It's very central and within walking distance of the town centre. Good car park.

    We wanted a no smoking room and these seem to be on the top floor. Unfortunately the heating system does not work well up there particularly as they turn it off overnight making the room very cold on a winters morning. However, we were provided with an electric heater. Breakfast finished at 0900 on Sat and 0930 on Sun, far too early for what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend break Hotel in on a very noisy main road and the entire hotel needs triple glazing. Although licenced there is no bar - drinks are served in a lounge We did not see a lift so luggage had to be carried up 3 flights of a narrow staircase to get to the top floor

    very cold in the room, dark and noisy (two tiny windows, one to the street); double bed just fits the room, no space left at all for anything else

    Lovely welcome and the breakfast was very good. Carparking very good.

    I appreciate that it was very cold at the time I stayed but my room never really heated up and not supplementary heating was available on request. Central heating was not turned in bedrooms until 5pm in the evening and only at 6:45 the next morning.

    "My wife said it was overall the best hotel she had stayed in and we have stayed in a lot so that is praise indeed. There was only one other resident when we stayed, it being Christmas night, so we did not have the chance to see the hotel operating under pressure. Still, food, accommodation and facilities all first class and the staff were polite and very helpful." (99579407)

    It was clean, comfortable and well presented and tasteful. It felt as though we were the first couple to use the room.

    Nothing really except the bed was a bit lumpy. We sleep on a quilt so we're spoilt.
