    good service,good room,good view out of the window,good breakfast.

    the boiler was not clean. I required to change another one but nobody came to do that.

    Lovely bed, pillows not so good.Wonderful breakfeast.

    Pity about parking facilities,using public car park is a pain having to feed the meter two hourly.

    Decent breakfast.

    No remote control for TV in room. Hotel couldn't wouldn't provide another. Couldn't open window in room as there was a massive noisy fan blasting air immediately outside the window. When will bars in this country ever decie to employ staff who know what they're doing. In the packed hotel bar there was one bar man who had two speeds slow and stop. It is not difficult to acknowledge customers and god forbid serve more than one person at a time.

    im glad i only manged to stay one night

    during breakfast on the sunday we were ignored, when trying to order our breakfast also the staff look tired dirty scruffy and un interested. none of the tables had been set for breakfast when i came down mid morning the milk for the cerial was warm and smelt off and all the breakfast juices were were warm too. we also found some of the staff rude and abrupt.

    Very friendly and helpful staff, very quick and easy check in, well stocked bar, very good breakfast with more choice than normal, comfy bed with lots of pillows, lovely location in Cowes near ferry, restaurants and pubs, well appointed room with good toiletries etc.

    More t.v. channels would be nice, but I'm being picky really... No bad points!

    Friendly staff and excellent breakfast.

    The single room was not as good as the double rooms - it is the same at most hotels and B&B's.

    Streets are narrow so some noise in bedrooms, particularly those opposite pubs.

    In the morning we waked up by the fire alarm. Nobody of the staff told us that it was because of toast in the kitchen. This was the only min punt.

    Extremely long wait for breakfast on Sunday morning - 45mins didn't get any toast either. Also, I booked a single room for a colleague and when they arrived were told they didn't have a booking, they were however offered a double room but were going to be charged the double rate of

    excellent food and very friendly staff

    Extremley disapointed in my room we were up three flights of stairs in an attic room with a small window and my view was roof tops if I really streched around I could see the sea! However, I didnot request a sea view room so there for that wasnt the problem. My dissanpointment was the size of the room extremly small and absoluty NO view, I am a most experianced travller and never have I experianced such a small room and NO view! We did complain but was told that we could have changed for one night but not the second night so we declined.

    Room was comforatble and the staff helpful and friendly

    Some of the decor was tired and there were unrepaired patches where water had come through the ceiling. Sash-ropes were broken in the main sash window.

    Check in, young man very helpful, same young man at breakfast in this day and age service given by him an his attitude to service,fantastic. It made our stay

    Room smelt very strongly of smoke, TV not tuned in, and at breakfast, fried eggs overcooked.

    "Overall, a hotel which was perfect for our overnight stay. The room was well appointed and comfortable though a little tired in aspects of the decorative state. The sash window wouldn't shut properly which, given the Friday Night Noise outside, was frustrating. Excellent breakfast and very good restaurant food. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Parking is a problem. The nearest car park is a 5-10 minute walk away which could be a major problem for some." (99862002)

    "This hotel has a very convenient location next door to the West Cowes ferry terminal, but this is also it's downside. There is a lot of traffic around the hotel, which makes it noisy in the rooms. It is a friendly place to stay but has a general air of shabbiness. Some maintenance and redecoration is well overdue."     "the hotel was very conveniently located for the fast net ferry and the staff were welcoming. The bar was lively and the coffe shop good. The hotel looked a bit shabby and I feel it wass quite expensive for the quality." (99984491)

    "I enjoyed my stay.But No drinking water provided in the room .I have satyed many hotels but this is the first hotel without a water Jug and a jug.Why?Do you feel this viital and essential.I feel that is the most important. After my travel in the car and the ferry about 5hrs and cheked in the hotel room I couldn't find any water in the room.Could you please see that drinking water is supplied in a jug to all the rooms."     "The Fountain Inn was a very relaxing place to stay, very clean and comfortable. Abit dissapointed that there was no parking facilities and we was not told at the time of booking. So additional costs in carparking fees." (99433562)

    Very Clean and Confortable rooms, Staff were very friendly, Excellent meals avaliable.

    There was no parking facilities, therefore we had to pay additional costs to park in the pay and display carpark which was situated about a 10 minute walk away.

    "I would only book this hotel again if I was coming to the Island without a car. there is no car park and I was very lucky to find a car parking space a 100yds away, had to return to car by 8.00am as this was a residents only parking area during the day. Nearest car park about half a mile away (Pay & Display. Would recommend but not if travelling by car, its a long walk if you have a few cases." (99940316)

    Excellent location. Lovely spacious room. Bonus to have the DVDs/ books - nice touches.

    Room was noisy (given the hotel's location I did partly expect this). Cigarette smoke from bar downstairs seemed to penetrate into the bedroom.

    "Overall, my stay was enjoyable. The food was of good quality, well presented and reasonably priced. The Fountain Inn possesses a good lively bar which is warm and welcoming and the staff were friendly and attentive. The main drawback was the bedroom. If allocated a room at the top of the building, be prepared to bump your head occasionally on the low sloping ceilings. Also, whilst original Sash windows may look good, they are not very good at keeping out draughts - at least the one in my room wasn't, - my curtains billowed frequently by the strong winds blowing in from the sea. I would recommend this hotel as it is centrally located, has good staff and the food is very good, but if staying again, I would ask for a room maybe on one of the lower flowers." (3304250370)

    The location is great. From our room (nr 21) a nice view over the harbour. Also very easy when arriving by fast ferry the hotel is 50 metres away. Outstanding, but not asked for in the questionnaire, the breakfast. Plenty of choice from the continental buffet and an excellent english breakfast. Overall good value for money.

    "Good except the meagre breakfast which could have been improved by the simple addition of a couple of veggie sausages out of the freezer and into the fryer. The carnivores breakfast looked fine !" (2615165)

    Views of the harbour / river were excellent which made the endless stairs worthwhile. Despite busy and noisy bars on the ground floor the rooms were well insulated from the bar noise

    Breakfast had no vegetarian option to the sausages and bacon & egg that were on the carnivores plates

    Centre of Cowes and was warm and dry (we were sailing at the weekend so were soaked).

    The staff taking the order for breakfast took it 3 times and still got it wrong!
