    clean and tidy room

    having to pay for the room upfront before viewing it also having to pay ten pounds deposit for the television remote control

    Friendly and helpful staff,good sized room

    very run down,bathroom was mouldy,dirty marks on the walls,bed was hard and the duvet was lumpy,floor under the window was on a slant which in turn caused the bedside cabinet to sit on a slope,the bathroom tap dripped all night,the toilet roll provided was all bashed and covered in dust,there was a crack between the wall and the door surround going into the bathroom,there was a mark on the bathroom roof where something used to be,the window surround was dirty and rotten and the paint was cracked and chipped,the heated towel rail in the bathroom was thick with dust,the hotel smelt of stale smoke

    Clean, en suite, sat tv, cheap parking, 25 mins walk to SECC and £36 a night. Very hard to fault. Oh yeah and English breakfast included as well!

    There were none. We could see daylight between the window and the window frame, the beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable, the bathroom had mold in the grout, the shower dripped all night. the room smelled so bad that we bought air freshener to make it better. The checkin lady was very unfriendly and unwelcoming.

    see above!!! oh and it is in a sketchy part of town and not as "close to the central part of the city" as advertised!

    "hey...I'm keeping the address so we can come back..it's centerally located for the things we wanted to see....bonus,it's near all the museums and the bus was right at the bottom of Garnet Street hill...just around the corner. Nice place. Clean and efficent. Nice breakfast too...not a steamtable..but breakfast as you like it. Nice." (107687414)

    "We were only there for one night to see Bruce Springsteen which is why we tolerated it.If we were staying for any longer then we wouldnt have stayed there." (107363683)

    There was dirt all over the bedroom walls,toilet was soiled with no toilet brush to clean it (and the room had only just been cleaned by the maid),there was no shampoo and only a hand wash,could not keep open the window in the bedroom,musky smell throughout the hotel(due to being fully carpeted),too many stairs,cooked beakfast was very,very,very basic with no sausages,mushrooms or choice of having them.

    Shower was good, tea and coffee was drinkable

    Bad manners. Not helpful at all. Room had not been cleaned for my friend and I to go into. My friend stood on a piece of wood coming out from the shower and could have ended up with a poison foot. We were not told what time breakfast was so we assumed it would be between 8am and 10.30.we went down at 9.15 only to be told we had missed it. When we queried the male receptionist he shrugged his shoulders and said the times were 7am til 9am and was stated on the back of our receipt. Sorry but who on earth is going to look there? We were not the only ones to miss out and it was paid for, so we had to go find somewhere to eat before returning home, so they got paid for breaksfasts no-one had.

    good location

    rooms could've been cleaner, breakfast poor was never offered tea only coffee available, full scottish breakfast advertised but was limited in items only bacon tomato egg and potato scone, hardly a 'FULL' breakfast

    "The room itself was clean, as was the bedding and as we were only staying for one night for a concert and not spending much time in the hotel it served our needs as it was cheap. THe breakfast was good. WOuld stay again if nothing else available" (107685400)

    Lights not working in the bathroom. Was reported to reception but not fixed. Badly needs redecorationg

    Staff were not very helpful, the room was dirty and very poorly decorated (wallpaper off the wall, loose tiles in bathroom etc), breakfast was limited in both times and choice (especially if vegetarian).

    "Bad. Apart from the original receptionist, the others were surly, churlish and unhelpful. Poor television. Only one tooth glass, small. Heating in room inedequate. Nylon lower sheet. Cotton upper sheet under duvet: replace only this and not duvet cover? Toilet roll sitting on holder - no pin on which to affix toilet roll. Toilet rool was part used - no attempt made to disguise this. Ugh, not happy." (107459307)

    Pleasant breakfast staff.

    Dingy, tired accommodation. Very poor instructions on how to get to the guest house. No explanation given about one-way streets. The receptionist from whom we requsted further information was unhelpful as she wasn't a driver.

    "I have stayed at the hotel several times, both alone, and with children, and we keep coming back!!! It's not the fanciest and trendiest, but it's cheep, homely and centrally lokated, and the staff are wonderful!!!" (107815372)

    the hotel has the best staff in the reception! They are so nice, helpful and friendly. If you stay more than once there they remember you _especcially Anne -She's marvelous!!! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and if you're on a "shared bathroom"basis, the shared bathrooms are very clean and fresh. The hotell is very cheap and close to shopping and bus/trainstation.

    The breakfast is a bit smallfor a "full scottish", but it's tasty.

    "From arrival I was treated with respect. I was allowed to leave my bag in a secure area until it was time to check in. The staff were very helpful all the time. The room was very clean and fresh and the bed and bedding were perfect. Breakfast was excellent, very fresh and very tasty. the dining area was clean to a high standard.     "I believe that you get what you pay for and although the accommodation was reasonable priced I think a few of the things metioned above could be dealt with. " (107928047)

    1.Bed in poor conditiion, lumpy and not comfortable at all. 2.Although room was warm, duvet was not adequate to keep you warm during the night (too small)and there were no other blankets to accommodate. 3.Door into room in very poor condition, wood chipped and broken. 4.Key fob heavier than key therefore kept falling out of keyhole when trying to lock the door and when you have athritic hands not very comfortable. 5. Cheap products used for breakfast and not very tasty i.e. bacon and potato scones.
