    "I would have spent at least £20:00 at the bar or even more but without staff what are you to do? Meal prices are over priced, good quality and you need to add time on your meals due to the lack of staff; I lost 1/2 an hour at breakfast.I am not sure if I will try it again. " (108175372)

    Good quality food, evening and morning, staff

    With little staff, how can they cover all areas, i spent some 20/25 mins at the bar. it's not the place for guests to go looking for staff who we know are busy serving meals Etc.

    Attractive quiet location; leafy grounds; character of building and locality; excellent ensuite bathroom; friendly staff; price we paid was a good deal

    The hotel room did not appear well maintained with dead wasps in the window bottom, during the night we had another large wasp appeared. But we managed to fight it off, it is now dead like the other 3? This was reported to the hotel. The bathroom sink was badly cracked and appeared to have been like that for some time. The breakfast was not warm

    Bar staff and young waitresses very friendly and helpful

    Receptionist not particularly friendly on arrival and at departure our hotel bill was incorrect as bar bill was paid in full when ordering drinks, receptionist had to get manager and they both seemed offhand when dealing with this query but this was eventually sorted. Restaurant food not particularly good as info on website stated, at breakfast they ran out of eggs in the warmers and the food could have been hotter.

    "The Annual Manchester Old Denstonian dinner I attended at the nearby Romily Golf club was excellent,as was the proximity and quality of the hotel.Your company enabled me to have a room at a competive price and with easy booking. " (107380376)

    The hotel is in a quiet area and thus I was able to have a good nights sleep. The Manager was very helpful as were the receptionist and night porter. There was a variety breakfast menu including my usual Saturday breakfast of kippers.

    The only problem and I mentioned this in the hotel evaluation sheet, was the the shower being part of the bath, should have had a rubber mat available,as the floor of the bath soon became slipppery from the shower gel and shampoo.

    Hotel staff were very dedicated to ensuring our stay was the best. A private party was going on but the hotel kitchen was opened just for the three of us to eat and the food was excellent.

    pleasant, cooperative staff, excellent service. Excellent food, ample car parking lovely spot we loved the restaurant outlook onto the inner courtyard

    no restaurant first evening unfortunately due to wedding, after a long journey en route to a funeral not good. Many minor problems with room (rapidly sorted when pointed out) e.g no hangers, no TV control, only one set of towels, wardrobe handle missing

    nice,clean warm room, friendly staff. Value for money.Very good breakfast.

    Unfortunately due to a wedding taking place there were no facilities for an evening meal.However the manager did give us breakfast at half price to compensate us.

    "The room had recently been refurbished which lulled us into a false sense of security - however the rest of the hotel smelt of stale fags, and the "empty" bar (devoid of any drinks except vile, draught wine & beer) top was sticky. we have the hotels brochure which promised fine quisine & well appointed bar - we suggest that they throw it in the bin - I had booked on-line before, but I'm afraid this experience has put us off. We walked out at 6.30pm ( 3 hours after checking in) and found a magnificent hotel in Manchester for " (97606183)

    No other guests Empty car park - should have gone home then!!!! Only three staff No menu, until 'chef' had a look in freezer to see what was available! Bar disgusting

    Lovely hotel, nice tidy and clean rooms although a little cramped.

    Staff attitude in the bar and serving meals was poor. When going to the bar the staff continued talking to themselves. The food we ordered in the bar was OK. Burnt garlic bread, waitress said sorry it looks burnt but offered nothing else. No dips with wedges until asked for. Ran out of ice and limes for drinks and bar cashed up at 9.30 so we had to pay for more drink on our credit card.

    "The location was ideal and the cost competitive so I would consider using the hotel again although I probably wouldn't choose to eat there due to the poor service and half attempt at doing good cooking. The soup was salty but the salmon and veg lovely - just slightly odd that there was no offer of potatoes to go with it." (97103527)

    the room was lovely and the receptionist very helpful

    The restaurant service was rubbish but I did manage to get a free meal which compensated quite a lot. The bar didn't appear to be open either

    "Room given initially already had a guest in it! The recepionist told me that they had been listed in a publication as the Real Faulty Towers! The bed cover had a rip in it! My colleague's bath ran sludgey water!" (97582736)

    "Have stayed before in updated rooms have been impressed. This time staying in executive room very disappointed. The room had not been updated (contrary to hotel literature). Room was big (which is good), but heated by one radiator that was behind curtains. Bathroom totally unheated and very badly in need of update. (Staff did bring fan heater to room). Also room was above function room and loud disco music was booming out (shaking the room) until 12 midnight. Would recommend the updated rooms, but not the exec ones in winter or a function is on at the hotel." (97349713)

    Location. Friendly staff.

    Superior room had not been upgraded and was freezing cold. No heating at all in (carpeted) bathroom!!

    When we arrived the booking hadn't been sent to the hotel, luckily they had a spare room or we would of had no where to stay!

    "Disorganised Staff. Breakfast was total chaos, tables not laid/cleared. Bedroom & En-suite not clean & in bad need of refurbishment, insufficient towels, stains on carpets, bedspread torn. Overall very poor. Staff blamed being busy was due to Christmas, this was October & Christmas was 8 weeks away. Very disappointed as I use Hotels frequently and have always had pleasant experiences in other Hotels of this group." (97119362)

    Room very small, bed appalling and sagged in the middle giving a very bad two nights sleep. Bathroom old and tired but clean. No atmosphere in the public areas and a very bizarre layout.

    Very calm and secluded considering how close it is to a city centre. The evening staff in particular were most helpful and welcoming.

    "The restaurant staff could benefit from some training. Staff stepped over a spoon on the floor six times before a guest picked it up and placed it on a table. Hot meals delivered before first course was completed and had to be instructed what to do about the problem." (99145282)

    Very quiet considering the close proximity of the airport. Staff advice helpful. There were few guests so the car park was relatively empty.

    "Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff. As its a small hotel I felt that the service was more personal. The setting was nice; surrounded by trees.     This is a decent hotel in a pleasant location. The hotel site itself is very attractive with a nice garden and plenty of trees. There is some aircraft noise, but it didn't detract from my stay - it wasn't too loud or too often.

    As has been said before the water pressure is not very strong, but I found it enough to have a shower.
