    near from bus station and railway station. near from city center. friendly atomosphere

    disablity of internet connection one electric plug without work, bus stop locates 50m far from the road across place. Receptionist didn't tell the exact location so I had to wait another 15min. in windy cold morning.

    Very friendly helpfull staff, kippers on the menu for breakfast

    It never looks good to ses bar staff measuring wine before pouring into glasses better to have a measurement line on glass otherwise it gives a sense of tight fistedness.Provide coffee pots for breakfast dont dish out one cup at a time, again a touch of the o'l Scottish reputation is rearing it's head!!

    I actually booked this for a present for my parents to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. There were lots of instructions and I had complete faith in the staff in executing these. My parents returned having had the most fantastic stay ever. They said the bed was massive and they could have lived in it but the best bit overall was the food and the fact that it was served on HOT plates.

    "Generally we stay in larger chain hotels on trips to Edinburgh, howerver on this occasion we decided to try a smaller one with a homely appeal. We were not disappointed. Our stay was most enjoyable and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere plus the quality of the service and accommodation will persuade us to return to the Dunstane Hotel." (97960223)

    Good location for access to tourist areas. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Very enjoyable lunch and a hearty Scottish breakfast.

    Our room was small, but had all the amenities. We will use the hotel again but reserve a larger room.

    I requested a bigger room and I was given a very nice size room and I was very happy with the room

    The room that I booked was very small for two people and their luggage.

    Original Victorian ambiance & decor.

    Room slightly small (room 7) but full of character. Breakfast (cooked) was excellent but a bit slow (25 mins) making me late for an office start of 08:00.

    "It was exactly as described and the location was good for walking around Edinburgh and the surrounding local areas. Loads of good eating places within walking distance. We enjoyed the weekend at the hotel and apart from the room (no 7) being a little bit tight for space I would not hesitate to book it again." (99960346)

    Appeared to be very clean. Great staff. Good breakfast. Nice bar area and seats outside were handy.

    Room no. 7 was a bit small for two people.

    "I thought the staff were extremely friendly. The hotel is in an excellent position, walking distants into Edinburgh, Princes Street about 15 minutes (that's ambling along). Five minutes from the Haymarket Station, 5-10 minutes by taxi from Waverley Station. Child friendly!You can eat in the hotel, you wouldn't have to leave it at all if you didn't want to, the hotel has an excellent bar which we frequented on both nights and there was entertainment for St Patricks Night. Lovely walk along the River for the adventureous. Lots of eating place mainly foreign, usual chain of english eating places!I bet it is nice in the summer, picnic tables in the front garden."     I thought the twin room was excellent,it included tea/coffee making equipment, t.v. and en-suite shower, plus all the toiletries needed.

    "Fantastic service, stunning decor, clean and well maintained in all area's. Friendly and caring staff. The Main dining menu is to die for, All the food is well presented, superbly cooked and tasted delicious. Vegetarians are also catered for. The hotel does offer a childrens menu there is a choice of options but we found these a bit limited. Saying that though we were told we could mix and match between the bar menu and the full dining menu which make life easier when catering for our 5 year old." (3305160390)

    The staff were fantastic, well presented, friendly and helpful.(nothing was too much trouble) The Hotels decor was perfect for the age of the building, it was clean and tidy and well maintained. The food was well presented with a wide variety of choice, I can safely say I had the best meal I have ever eated at dinner, the waiter was great he even took the trouble to entertain our 5 year old son with napkin animals when he had finished his meal.

    "This is a lovely little hotel in the middle of Edinburgh. The room was very small (I was warned on the website) but it was just lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good.     The room was spotlessly clean, albeit a little on the small side.The food was delicious and service was excellent.Bus stop right outside the hotel also very handy, didn't have to use the car.

    No complaints, although could be doing with a light in the beer garden out front.

    "Hotel is a straight 10 minute walk from the centre of Edinburgh, easy to find and on a main bus route from the airport, with a stop just outside the hotel.     "The location was good. The room was excellent. The service from most of the staff was good and friendly. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel safely after we checked out as our flight was a couple of hours later. The food was very nice also." (3304364203)

    The room was very nice and clean and also the bathroom

    The service could have been better with regard to on check in. It was after 9.30 when we checked in after travelling all day. We requested soup and/or sandwiches and were told that the kitchen was closed. When booking the room the website asked us what time we were to check in so the hotel knew it would be late. Also when we arrived at the airport there were no taxis so we phoned the hotel for a taxi phone number they did not offer to arrange for a taxi to collect us.
