    "A family-run bed and breakfast, with 5-star hospitality. Our room was clean and decor was very pleasing. A well-equipped bathroom with modern fittings (no bath - but not a problem) with shower gel, shampoo and hand-wash and lotion provided. Fresh milk and filtered water were provided daily, the former being kept in a fridge which could also be used for personal food or drink. The buffet breakfast was delightful, with a wide choice of food, including fresh fruit and boiled eggs. Oaklands House is ideally situated on the outskirts of Brading with easy access to all parts of East Wight by car, bus or train. There are easy walks to St Helens, Bembridge and Yaverland.     Room and Bathroom a little on the small side but this didn't inconvenience us.

    The owner was good, she was helpful and informative. The facility was well decorated, clean and tidy.

    We felt a few corners had been cut. The room was only on the borderline for being adequate for two people. The towels were not bath robe size. The range of breakfast cereals was very limited. Only butter was provided, no low fat alternative.

    The "Landlady" was very helpful. The accommodation was comfortable with some nice touches in the bedroom and bathroom.

    The lounge was not open 'till just before breakfast. I can't think of any reason why this should be the case. The jacuzzi shower was fine as a shower although getting a comfortable temperature was a pain. However, as a jacuzzi it was feeble - a complete non-event.

    "Oaklands was modern with pin number keypads for entry to the hotel and room instead of keys, the rooms have wireless internet access and ours was newly renovated with a nice shower. There was a fridge and air-con in our room. The self-serve breakfast buffet had enough variety. The staff were friendly and helpful e.g. dried our clothes from when we got caught in the rain. Nice pub just over the road with delicious pizzas (including takeaway) and real ales / cider. We recommend this hotel." (99416815)

    "We enjoyed our stay. The bed & breakfast was well run and the staff were friendly. We felt very much at ease there but felt it would have been nice to have a little more choice at breakfast (i.e. a cooked breakfast would have been nice) but overall we felt that the hotel offered extremely good value for the rates it was charging.     Good central location for exploring the island

    The hotel was an ideal base for our holiday,everywhere was easy to reach.The hotel itself was a good quality,the self service buffet breakfast was a very good idea,how many people want to eat a fry-up EVERY morning?!The heated swimming pool was a nice extra.

    "There is not english breakfast included, and parking space is limited. But overall it is a very desirable position with nice pubs and Sandown around the corner.
