    I booked through agent. I was subsequently charged substantially more for the room and the requirement to take meals was not notified to me beforehand although I made it clear I would be eating out. I was promised a phone call but nobody rang my office.

    Lovely atmosphere, in an enchanting, family run hotel. We felt as if it was a real home for the night,and we loved the dog, who completed the homely surroundings. Although we turned up late, we felt like we were very much looked after. I would definitely come again and recommend it to anyone who was in need of a hotel for the night.

    Took a while to check out in the morning, as no-one was on the desk for quite a long time.

    "A delightful experience. A beautifully-presented small country house hotel, with pleasant and helpful young staff. We were only there overnight while attending a family event but the hotel experience could not have been bettered." (108200020)

    Locally-sourced food. Clean, comfortable, well-appointed and characterful room. Pleasant, helpful young staff. Fresh milk for tea kept in a fridge on the landing.

    Very friendly and welcoming staff. Pleasant atmosphere. Food Extensive grounds with chickens, ducks etc.

    Very friendly and motivated staff if all a bit young apart from the owners. Extremely comfortable sitting area, and well-stocked bar. Lovely rural location. Superb food with large choice. Nice to have flat-screen TV in room and illuninated digital clock.

    None really except the swivelling mirror in the bathroom swivelled of its own accord.

    Attractive hotel with lovely grounds. Very pleasant bedroom. More akin to staying in a grand and beautiful house than an hotel.

    Very expensive dinner menu. More pricey than London restaurants. Although the food was delicious.

    "Great country hotel, nice and quiet with a good garden and relaxing surroundings. Food is excellent and breakfast is served with fresh eggs from the hotels hens at £14 breakfast is a bit pricey but this was on a deal with reduced room rate so no complaint really. Bar and lounge very nice with country furnishing. Staff very helpful and polite. Why stay in a one of the big hotel chains when you can stay here?" (107930080)

    very relaxing quite and wonderful scenery we enjoyed the weekend very much staff were very helpfull and polite and were very infomative food excelent possible extension of menu.

    "This is a comfortable hotel and I will go back. The rooms are all to a good standard and the food is also well prepared. All guests to whom I spoke commented on the comfort of the beds. The bad points are minor irritants which could easily be rectified. Overall, this is a hotel I would recommend for a relaxing stay." (107311226)

    Rooms are comfortable, as are the beds. Food is very good (maybe a little expensive). The Sea Bass and the Fillet steak were particulalry good. Lounge area with fires is welcoming, especially on cold winter evenings. Staff are friendly and courteous.

    Bedrooms seem not to have heating on when you arrive, so they are cold when you arrive. Breakfast in room is poor and expensive for what you get. (I was given a bowl of cereal and a satsuma and this cost £8.00 and you are expected to make your own tea/coffee) Breakfast is not served until 8.00 a.m. which is a little late if you have to get away for a meeting. 7.30 a.m. would be so much better. Got snowed in when I stayed - had to dig ourselves out of car park. Minimal help from staff, other than supplying shovel.

    Fantastic location - 5 minuts to M5, but in midst of countryside. Very clean, tidy beedroom, and friendly welcome even though just staying B&B.

    Very welcoming young staff. Pleasant room with fresh fruit, tea, coffee available plus bottled water.Excellent beds, crisp sheets and good towels/robes. Nice setting.Loan of an umbrella

    Heating went off in our room -we were cold until a member of staff corrected this.We had been persuaded to upgrade to a larger more expensive room to give ourselves more space but were not aware until arrival that we had to take dinner in the hotel to take advantage of the special room rate.We were the only people dining in the hotel that evening a bizarre and not very agreeable experience when we would have preferred to have had supper at a local pub with other friends in the locality.Dinner not offer value for money and the plastic bread was a disappointment at breakfast

    Excellent service,very nice room.Clean and tidy.

    Slight misunderstanding with breakfast not being delivered in the evening as agreed due to not being available in time before an early departure the next day. Staff very apologetic.

    The hotel was excellent but expensive for a business traveller. Nine pounds for a bottle of beer and a glass of red Portugese was too much.

    High prices will put me off. It is also rathere austere.

    The staff were very well mannered, helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The room was well presented, comfortable and homely. Excellent shower. Plenty of parking.

    There was a DVD player in our room, but unfortunately the hotel could not lend us any DVDs to watch which was a shame because it was pouring down with rain outside.

    Quality of accomodation and breakfast

    Staff made you feel uneasy, unable to talk. Lovely evening meal but not very large portions especially the vegetables, priced too high for what it was. Drinks very expensive.

    The room design and decor was very tastefull, nice furniture and a very comfortable bed, great Garden and very peacefull surroundings.

    The window in our room would not open. The cost for Breakfast was quite high, no table set for us at Breakfast.

    "We stayed here whilst on business but would like to return for leisure. There is nothing about this hotel I could find fault with and I stay in many hotels through the course of a year. The building is beautiful and welcoming inside and out, the location is idyllic, the food is divine and the people who own it and work there have really got it right. Well done. Faultless.     Being met outside the hotel by a member of staff who came to our car to take our bags, being personally welcomed by the proprietor at check-in. The food was fantastic, the building was beautiful, the room was the nicest I can remember staying in, everything was very clean, everyone was very friendly. A lot of thought has gone into this hotel.

    "Very nice staff .Good Breakfast, but quite expensive. We had dinner the first night of our stay , but ate out the second night as my main course was poor. The leg of lamb tasted strange and I believe had been cooked, and then frozen, and reheated. This was a shame as the starter and the veg was very good." (97289084)

    Very comfortable bed,nice warm room.

    Bathroom in need of update. Also overlooked garden which was nice but a great deal of the time members of staff were outside our window having cigarette breaks.

    This hotel is very much like home well furnished in gentile mode. It was a pleasant stay though short as we were in transit.
