    Very Clean, Value for Money, Good Service

    The room i had 1212 had problems with the key card and after a couple to drink it takes a while to get in, this is no issue though really

    Hotel was excellent and staff very polite and helpful without going over the top to try to be pleasant.

    No bad points really but I was disappointed that I could not access the internet during my stay, either in my room or the lounge. This I am afraid would deter me from stopping again in the future, though if this problem was rectified I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends.

    room smallish with poor lighting and too many pamphlets that kept falling everywhere.

    "The Kimberley sits amongst a throng of other hotels near the International Centre but it's peaceful, close to the town centre and a very good public transport hub. We stayed for my wife's birthday weekend and had an enjoyable and memorable time." (108103475)

    All staff were courteous and friendly. The room service was very timely. The bed was massive and very comfortable. We stayed in the New England character room for a slightly higher cost. The room was refreshing and pleasant - and it's nice to know your room is special.

    Noise from corridors and other rooms was intrusive at times. Some signs asking folk to be considerate and pipe down, especially after hours, would be a worthwhile addition.

    Excellent room, well furnished. Good bathroom with good towels. Excellent breakfast - good choice, quality stuff, constantly monitored to ensure availability, plenty of attentive waiting staff.

    Shower wasn't very powerful but was noisy!

    "As a single woman I felt quite at ease in the hotel. Recent refurbishment makes it a comfortable and very pleasant place to stay. It is situated on the main road which makes it feel safe to walk back to after an evening out. Convenient for the centre of Harrogate and the exhibition centre." (108730689)

    Excellent Room, Quiet, Great Location

    Check In was difficult eventually settled in 3rd room, refurbishment had "snagging" faults ie door would not lock, shower held on by gaffa tape

    Staff thoughtful and polite Hotel warm and welcoming Vey nice breakfast Bistro good Room service fine Within easy reach of the Conference Centre.

    One of the 'best rooms in the hotel' and all staff very proud of that fact. 1. No skirt hangers in the wardrobe. 2. No drawers for clothing. 3. Bedside shelf barely adequate to hold a book and my glasses 4. Over-ornate at the expense of practicality 5. Finally and to my great discomfort, the mattress sagged woefully.

    Everything about the hotel except the initial booking in was excellent. The food in the Bistro was some of the finest we have had and what the Maitre d' lacked in knowledge about certain vegetables was more than made up for by his enthusiastic endorsement of the menu

    When we arrived there was a group booking in and there had been a mix up over the rooms. One of the receptionists was trying to sort it out but was just not communicating with her colleague,nor were either of them listening to the guests who understood exactly what the mix-up was. By the time it was my turn they were both flustered and abrupt and did not give clear directions to our room. In the half hour it took to book in neither receptionist smiled once. The following morning when we booked out however only one receptionist was on duty and she was very pleasant and smiled often. It's a pity because their unfriendly welcome made us wonder about what we were in store for.

    "The Kimberley is very convenient when visiting any exhibitions at Harrogate. The staff are pleasant and courteous and the hotel looks very nice with its new interior colour scheme. However, the bedroom was a little bit 'plain' and did not have a bedspread, just a white duvet. As mentioned previously the bed itself was not very comfortable." (108699549)

    Very attentive and helpful staff at breakfast time. Choice of breakfast buffet was very good. Hotel has been refurbished very nicely. We have stayed here twice previously and were impressed with the new colour scheme.

    Parking is limited and very hit or miss. The bed in our room (1205) was as hard as a rock and we didn't sleep particularly well.

    The hotel was lovely, the newly decorated restaurant, reception area and rooms were lovely. The staff were polite, welcoming, friendly and professional.

    The only negative to the hotel was the hostess at the breakfast in the morning, she was quite rude and abrupt to our party, and we had to wait 45minutes for a table, however when we did get a table, the food was lovely and worth the wait.

    Staff, service, convienience to town center, spotless, excellent breakfast, bar prices, comfort. One of the best independently run hotels we have stayed at and would definately stay there again.

    The room service was particularly good. I'm not always fond of eating alone in restaurants so this was a delicious surprise! The newly refurbished areas of the hotel are lovely

    The breakfast service in the restaurant seemed quite chaotic and slow. The food was lovely but the staff were slow to offer tea and coffee and didn't seem to be keeping track of who had they had seated first

    Excellent rate and location. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was delicious! Quirky rooms.

    Carpet was stained. Peaceful stay but could hear other guests quite easily.

    Accomodation was superb. We had a reunion and booked 4 executive doubles and the other three couples were just as pleased as we were.

    Only slight problem was that the hotel was obviously fully booked and everybody seemed to want to eat breakfast at the same time which meant some of the party had to eat in another room.

    unfortunately a fire alarm went off at 1am during our one night stay (3rd oct) and there was no information re assembly point in our room (2001). Consequently like many other guests we went to the rear car park, only to be moved back through the potentially unsafe hotel to the front of the building. I thought it was a legal requirement to have fire information in a hotel room.

    bathroom superb, executive room deal very appealing (robe, toiletries and wine), good value for money, a competitor for the Hotel du Vin

    One of the receptionists at check-in started to deal with us then with the (6person) party behind us before we'd finished - rather rude. Only a minor point though,overall very good, and less pompous than,say,HdV/Malmaison

    We stayed at the Kimberley last year (3 rooms) and returned this year (again 3 rooms) because we were impressed with the efficient & friendly staff, the overall quality of accommodation and the excellent location. As a result of the recent refurbishment the overall quality of the facilities has improved significantly (the new rooms are truly excellent) and the quality of the staff remains high.

    Beautifully finished rooms and en-suites, very comfortable.

    Very confusing layout as there are 2 seperate parts to the hotel, which are not logical. We got lost trying to find our room, and this was very frustrating. Poorly signposted.

    The Kimberley hotel was very nice and my stay in the delux suite in the hotel was very nice, the room was spec'd out to a very high quality. Nice to see the hotel busy and progressing from my stay 1 year ago

    bad points 1)No parking!! front now a table area, rear had no organisational lines so people were parked a good 1-2 metres apart just because they could making the parking very annoying as you could have got alot more cars within the parking area......2)the sheets and pillows smelt awful of cholorine making it unpleasent to relax due to the smell....3)tried calling '5000' to get to front desk after trying for 20mins finally answered....4)no instructions or number to call for room service so i had to make the '5000' call again to no avail....5) luxury suite door was glass see through, no matter how much you are a couple some things you dont want to share!..7) no clear signs for breakfast/dinner room, no clear signs for suites in the luxury part of the hotel....all in all not a very happy stay....not what you expect for paying that price!!!
