    Central location, good breakfast clean room

    Expensive for the standard of the hotel Similar priced hotels I have visited have a lot more facilities ie bar, evening meals

    Very pleasant owner. I didn't like to disturb her to ask whether TV was digital -- I don't think it was and I would have appreciated that. Friendly breakfast cook.

    Only digital TV -- I had to spend a long time in my room so would have liked the choice..

    A clean and tidy hotel, good central location, very helpful staff. Recommended!

    Would have liked baked beans and fried bread and / or potato cakes with the full english breakfast. (This might have been offered, but I didn't ask.)

    Made very welcome. Room (family room) decent size. Plenty of storage space for clothes. Good breakfasts and service in restaurant. Assistance with carrying cases. Room overlooking back garden, i.e, not much street noise.

    Toilet/shower very cramped. Beds too hard. TV in awkward position.

    Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent.

    Room fairly small. No internet access. Parking is slightly troublesome as there is no hotel car park--only parking is on the street. However, there was plenty of this, albeit with pay machines. Hotel staff did tell me about the availability of a tourist parking ticket, which allows basically unlimited parking. They organised this for me with no trouble. This was most helpful.

    A family run business, owners very pleasant. Gave us a complimemtary glass of wine and crisps on arrival, as the cleaner had left a small wet patch on the carpet. Breakfast yummy! Proper full english.

    Noone at reception, had to wait 10minutes, the room was not ready even tho it was 4pm. But given a glass of red each and crisps. Four poster bed not original klassy kind.. bits of pine nailed together and sheet draped over. NO TOP SHEEET!! And the duvae had seen better days. Also neighbours had a drunken row outside our window, not hotels fault tho.. excellent location, 5min walk to main street.

    Very clean and tidy hotel.

    Our room was adequate but for the bed. It was a four poster. The only thing was it was a bit wobberley to say the least. But overall it was a nice room.There was plenty of coffee and tea to drinkand the bathroom was very clean.

    overall excellant.

    if there had to be a bad point it would be the lack of parking at the hotel. Saying that there was a long stay car park a couple of hundred metres away which were adequate for my stay. might be a bit expensive if you stay longer.

    Having breakfast included was great as it saved us from having to look around for a place to eat in the early morning.

    The price was a great deal higher than any other we found in the IOW.

    "The hotel is centrally located and it is ideal as a base from which to explore the whole of the island. It's not far from the ferry points either. The owners of the hotel were nice, friendly people and we wish them well with their enterprise. The hotel is small and homely and you're left to your own devices, which isn't a bad thing. You can come and go as you please. The room was a double room with four-poster bed and an en-suite. It was fine, with a small flat-screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities and provisions for a cot can be made. The bathroom was functional - nothing else. I would urge the owners to keep the rooms and bathrooms a little cleaner. Olde-worlde is great, but shouldn't venture into hygiene! Great stay, price was fair (for an expensive island, the price was acceptable). I would stay there again" (97070346)

    It was a homely hotel, in the middle of the island. Conveniently located.

    It wasn't as clean as we were hoping it would be. No parking meant nipping out early to put coins in the meter!

    "Wonderful, character hotel, pleasant help full staff. Great english breakfast. Position excellent, ideal for that short stay. Only downside, poor parking facilities. Although we were able to park directly outside, we had to use pay and display from 8am - 6pm even on Sunday. Perhaps the council could assist the hotel by providing them with parking permits for guests. This would remove the necessity to alight from bed to feed the meter at 8am." (99301694)
