    "We had a great week end overall so we would definatly stay again - but next time I would book directly with the Hotel to ensure a breakfast!" (107866558)

    The decor in the room was excellent. The size of the bedroom was also great.

    The lighting in the bedroom was very poor. There were 4 females in our room and getting ready to go out in the evening meant taking turns sharing the small mirror in the bathroom to apply make up etc. We were all disappointed with the lack of light in the bedroom. We were not entitlted to a breakfast in the morning even though our friends had booked for the same price but drectly with the Hotel and got a breakfast thrown in! Also a friend staying in the other room badly hurt her fingers when the window dropped onto them.

    Nice room

    This hotel needs to decide whether it's a sports bar or a hotel. The sports on the TV was a good thing, but the VERY loud music that I couldn't avoid hearing in my room, was very annoying. In addition, the breakfast was a joke. There were no cups, no glasses, and when I asked for some hot water for the coffee which I had to make I was told it was in the flask - which was marked 'tea'. I would have expected the waitress to then at least make the coffee for me, especially as my breakfast was on the table getting cold! Very poor show for £6.50!

    Good sized room, plenty of tea / coffee etc, Shower was hot and powerful.

    In need of refurbishment to tidy it up, looked grubby on the whole.

    A dirty shabby hotel in need of major refurbishment. Food Ok and people pleasant, but fabric of place poor.

    Very old in need of refurb. Room was dirty, in particular the bed whose quilt was old, stained and the valance covered in dust. Shower curtain was black. Fixtures and fittings in need of changing. Lot of traffic noise. Very overpriced for what was on offer.

    The accomodation was spacious and had good facilities

    The fact that it had been previously occupied by a smoker, therefore the room smelt of smoke and so did all my belongings at the end of the stay

    The lighting was poor in the bedroom, for when I was getting ready and putting make-up on before going out, I ahve bad eyesight anyway and this didn't help.

    Not far from town centre, staff were good about getting our Son something to eat, even though there wasn't a kids menu.

    The noise at night, it went on til the early hours!!

    The evening entertainment was very good.

    The hotel appeared run down and more like a pub with bedrooms. The reception was unmanned on arrival and departure. The restaurant facilities were not welcoming and the menu poor. We did not eat at the hotel at anytime.

    it was central and within easy access of the area i needed

    "the description did not prepare us for what it was. 1 star would be too much. i would strongly advise anyone going here to look before they book. it was dirty, floors creaked everywhere in the room and the bathroom should be condemmed as it was dangerous, dodging towel rails and padded beams to get in the shower. no curtain on 1 window overlooked by offices. good job it steamed up. in my opinion it was totally unsuitable to offer and needs a lot of repairs done."     it was dirty, in need of upgrade. bathroom disgusting. we checked into a different hotel for the next night and had we arrived earlier would never have stayed at all

    Room was large and comfortable, plenty of cupboard and draw space.

    Found it very surprising that no toiletries were provided in the bathroom. Would have expected at the very least, a bar of soap.

    The hotel has obviously just undergone refurbishment and it was all wooden floors and white walls and wooden fixtures, with leather settees in the public areas. Very nice. Live band when we stopped which were excellent and although they were still going when we went to bed, we heard nothing, albeit we were on the top floor. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was lovely.

    Smell of smoke as soon as you walked into the building and also in our bedroom (however we hadn't asked for a non-smoking room and this wont be an issue soon). Too many TV's in the public areas. They would be better having a quiet area, maybe in the lounge by the reception.

    Not clean, shower didn't work (room-nr. 100), the room with the heating pipe was hot couldn't turn it of. If you look at the remote control from the TV that's the answer of the quality of the room. The breakfast was very poor at 08.45 am sausage and beans were dried out and the plates were wet. The lady how helped us could have do it with a bit more passion and a smile.

    The hotel appears to be going through a re-vamp, the restaurant very modern and clean, The room clean however needed a make over. the bar area carpets very dirty, noisy ans not conducive to a pleasant stay.

    The bar area carpets very very dirty, noisy and not condusive to a pleasant stay. Bar staff kept appearing and then disappearing for considerable periods, wearing coats and looked un interested, beer had to be returned because of bad taste and extremely cloudy, no lemon for the Gin and Tonics. Bedrom very noisy, TV only worked on some channels, wall paper dirty and ceiling very dirty and untidy. Just needs a good makeover, redecorating and some better furnishings. Only one table lamp and the entrance door appeared damaged as if it had a recent breakin (damage on the door frame and around the lock. Door lock itself a poor standard. Stairs from reception area very steep and having to unlock a door at the top and struggle through with cases difficult. Not a cheap stay when compared with more modern hotels as the price does not even include breakfast. Car park very poor, dark and very flooded because of the uneven and rutted surface.

    Room was clean ,warm and dry.

    Bath wasn't clean. Secondary double glazing catch was broken. I heard every argument there was outside the hotel, the room faced the high street.

    "It was nice hotel within easy access to the town. There is charging for parking during the week but free at weekeneds. It is a little awkward to find off the main road but generally good. The disco was little loud below the rooms. They have a key to the landing which is very good as its above a pub. It was very clean. Although drinks from bar are a litle expensive. If I have a ned to g to surtton again I would stay here again." (3305023372)

    The accomodation was very clean and staff friendly. It was very close to surtton town hall where the wedding was. They even had an air cooler unit in the room which is great during this hot weather.

    There was a disco on the fridy night in the hotel which did cause some noiose below the room.

    Very drab looking and worn. No remote for T.V. An oversize dressing table took up much of the space. Shower sprayed sideways as well as down.

    "If we had known we would not have booked. But seeing we had, felt we should honor our booking and stay. If we had walked in off the street we would have choosen to find somewhere else to stay for the weekend. First impressions do mean a lot.     lack of prompt sevice at breakfast, general smokey atmosphere even in room, no room service, so no makings for coffee or tea the next day. Not feeling comfortable, 'that at home feeling'.

    the room had a bed and provided a roof over our heads

    cobwebs in the room near ceiling, mould on the shower curtain, musty/stale smell of our room 118, too many steep stairs to encounter to get to rooms. Creepy floorboards in corridors could be heard every time someone walks outside the room.

    Not much - the room was cold, smelly and tired.

    Refurbish rooms to a higher standard. The rather intimidating group of young men who were hanging around in the car park of the hotel shouting and swearing did nothing to make me feel welcome or safe.

    Room - Ensure all equipment is in working order. TV too small and out of date ie no teletext. Poor deco throughout accommodation area. Loud music through the late evening - band.

    Close to railway, but on a noisy road

    Check in was atrocious. Had to interrupt private conversation to do it after waiting at reception for 5 minutes. Took 10 minutes for staff to appear in breakfast room. Quality of fixtures and fittinsg in room were very poor - broken chair at desk, no light at desk so couldn't see, wall paper tatty, bathroom looked old.
