    "I would stay at this hotel again in future for 1 or 2 nights but no longer, it has a retro 70s feel to it which is quaint. The staff are friendly and helpful, overall a pleasant enough experience." (108709475)

    A clean and pleasant hotel with adequate facilities. The Scampi and Chips I had for Dinner was extremely good.

    Friendly and attentive staff; good food; beautifully clean. Good views of shipping in the Solent.

    Small regret about the public lounge - a large room but too formal, tucked away and a bit musty.

    fantastic sea views - wonderful and quiet location - helpful and pleasant staff - clean and comfortable room - lovely garden - half the price (and twice the value) of a Brighton hotel

    had instant coffee one morning -- tho to be fair, the owner's husband had just been hospitalized and things were stressed. In general, breakfast options were not as varied as at other hotels in the UK and Ireland, but were adequate

    "The internet photo is a bit misleading. It appears to be a stand alone property within gardens. It is in fact in a strip of housing. The rooms were clean and tidy but cooking odours etc permeated the rooms. It may have been a bad day in the kitchen!! Proximity to the beach was perfect." (97653289)

    "were at the isle of wight festival for the weekend and our stay at the hotel was perfect. only complaint was on email confirmation the checkout was down for midday but we were called at 10.45 reminding us chck out was at 11...! this was not the hotels fault though and caouldn't fault our stay."     "Good, old fashioned hospitality. We struck and instant rapport with the owners and their staff and also with the other guests many of which seem to be regulars. The accomodation was spotless and very comfortable. If I was pushed (very hard!) to find fault, it would be that the fittings were a little dated and works to the new extension at the rear were not the prettiest view....... The food was very good and not too modern! Good sized portions and varied menu to suit all tastes. The staff were more than happy to provide something not on the menu if they had the ingredients. The hotel is located right on the front with a good strip of sandy beach. It is a quiet location with only residential neighbours, being a good 15mins walk into Seaview. We shall go again!"     "This hotel is in a superb location if you are visiting the NE area of the Isle of Wight. Literally a 7-8 minute drive from Ryde esplanade, great facilities in a wonderful location. Homely and good service and food, and the added luxury of great (Solent)sea views and a jacuzzi/bath and separate shower." (2843082)

    "Not suitable for older guests two sets of steps per floor. Reception said that they have plans to install an elevator. TV a little dated" (2893736)

    Very very quiet, therefore a good nights sleep

    One noted problem with my Bath Room, that being a safely issue, it is against electrical regulations to have a drop cord light fitting in a Bath Room, these must be bulk head fittings to avoid any risk of electrocution. I intended to report this on check out but forgot.

    "It would have been nice to know that there was no lift available as there was 4 sets of stairs to go up. The food was oustanding, all fresh produce bought the day of the meal. The chef is top quality and so are the owners David & Joyce who make great conversation and make you feel welcome" (2724675)

    "This hotel provided a cot for our 21 month old daughter, a high chair for meals and is situated in a lovely antique village with no touristy tat in sight. A truly relaxing place with nothing corny or annoying in sight. The Old Foft pub down the road in Seaview serves a great lunch before your evening meal in the hotel." (2652817)

    Very comfy bed, large room, excellent sea view with balcony and very friendly and helpful staff.

    "It is nice to be able to book a hotel on line at last minute , Unfortunately we felt a bit let down on arrival as the pictures on the net looked very different to that of the real thing . Unless we have been recomended a hotel we dont always book over the net , we have very high standards , and this was not quite what we were used to . The Staff were friendly enough , but it needs bringing upto date , and making the most of what it can offer . The overview of the hotel on the website isn't quite what it appears to be . overall a very disappointed couple ." (1540408)

    The Hotel was close to the Ferry terminal , seaviews as described .

    The room was not quite what we had expected , was tired , in need of refurbishment .

    "Large airy room with bay window and sea view. En suite with jaccuzi bath plus separate shower. Ample double wardrobes. Some rooms have balcony. Rooms at rear overlook countryside. Not all rooms have jacuzzi or separate shower cubicle. No lift. Small south facing pleasant garden to rear with covered decking and seating. Relaxed friendly family run hotel. Ideal location to unwind away from the hustle and bustle but within easy driving distance of Towns, country walks, leisure amenities. Closest beach is not too good - sand/shingle and lots of seaweed but clean sandy beaches nearby. Yatch club and sailing nearby." (1214352)

    Restful. Friendly. Efficient. Close to beach. Sea view. Ideal to unwind.

    No bad points but minor attention to fixtures and fittings would make perfect. No lift.
