    "Overall very satisfactory, and I asked to have use of the rooms for an extra 30 mins and the Manager was more than helpful" (108850628)

    I stayed in the hotel in a satelite building in a single bed in a room which was so small I could not sleep well. The last time was much better and both groups of adults were pleased with the size and standard of the rooms

    Cost of breakfast at £9.50 is far too high

    "It was our first visit to Norwich, and we found it a very interesting city Very helpful to have a hotel room in walking distance The booking was room only, and breakfast was added to our account, if taken. Continental breakfast costs less than a full breakfast Breakfast is the only meal served, but plentiful with lots of choice" (108171016)

    Excellent location for visiting the Castle and Cathedral in Norwich, either a 15 to 20 minute walk, or catch service 35 from the bus stop outside. If walking, it seems safe in the evening, and there is a footbridge over the main road The Victorian Gardens, next to the Hotel, are very interesting The three staff we met in our 3 night mid week stay, on reception and in the restaurant for breakfast, were all very helpful, and very good at their jobs. The car park was fairly full, but not full up

    Excellent value for money and very central being able to visit Norwich City Centre by foot and leaving the car parked in the hotel car park.

    Tap in bathroom sink broken.

    Good breakfast, but overpriced. Very central to Norwich. Informal and relaxed, with friendly staff.

    The room felt like it was a janitor's office done out as a hotel room. The room smelt of tobacco smoke to the extent that the smell lingered on our clothes after we left. We would have complained about this if we had been staying more than one night.

    hotel and reception staff were excellent

    There was bo orange juice at breakfast on the second morning and no one to ask once your order had been taken. Seemed that breakfast was not a priority. We were not the only guest waiting.

    "I always enjoy coming to Norwich and staying at the Beeches or the Lodge. Both are very good hotels. The Beeches I am fond of because of its location and ease to get into the city or out to the Sainsbury World Art Centre." (107323646)

    Excellent location, and the Victorian Gardens are wonderful.

    Bar area unwelcoming. No glasses or tumblers in room.

    "Beautiful location and we enjoyed the freedom of not being tied to in-house catering. There is no restaurant on site. However having stayed in the hotel before over ten years ago, we felt that the management was now only interested in the bottom line and not in providing excellent service. " (107524004)

    Our welcome was excellent and the room did not disappoint

    Poor attention to detail as one became more familiar with the accomodation. Two light bulbs were out. The bed was creaky and uncomfortable. There were no hooks in bathroom or a trowel rail. The shower ran either very cold or very hot - a comfortable temperature did not seem to be achieveable. The drinks tray was very poorly supplied. We were sure that this could have been remedied if we had asked but we felt strongly that we should not have had to ask. There were no information leaflets in the hotel for either their own services nor the attractions of the locality. i.e. Room Service was mentioned but the promised menu was not present in the room folder.

    Good location

    Bathroom too dark. This was not helped by the fact that a flourescent light tube was missing from a picture light in that room. Insufficient packaged milk and coffee supplied to room each day.

    poor choice of vegetarian menu no control working on heater and far too hot advised by staff not to close bathroom door as the door tends to get stuck inadequate breakfast not offered a choice of brown/white bread poor value for money - poor view - the bar was most unwelcoming in character

    Very clean and friendly staff. very attentive

    Not so much bad points but would be nice to be able to order either room service or food in the evening. A jug of water in the room would be good.
