    "Good stay generally." (108820407)

    Very friendly hotel, staff 1st class and good food overall not bad.

    Had booked a fridge in advance via internet direct with them but there was not one in the room when we arrived. asked 3 times and the receptionist went and did it herself in the end. The first room we went into was of a poor quality dirty(generally worn out) and smelt. At reception no question i was given another room but this was really small and the bathroom was really really small! The receptionist came with me and showed me a further three rooms i picked the best one which was satisfactory. Again i will say the staff were great nothing too much trouble. This room we had for 5 days. Things like shower not hooking up properly, cracked basin, no plug in basin, wardrobes that dont shut properly just general points that could be sorted out with a good makeover. New lift was nice. Have stayed there before many times and have had a good time. Once was upgraded to a suite that was really nice but at £1000.00 a week a bit expensive for just a few days in blackpool.

    Good location, looked impressive on arrival, parking available, friendly, helpful staff

    Room didn't meet expectations, was smaller than expected, due refurb as en suite was very tired, ventilation in room was poor, window was stuck open,couldn't be either closed or opened further.

    "Nice grand hotel to stay in but a little rough round the edges in the main communal area's now. Large rooms are nicely furnished. Avoid Dinner at all costs, it was bland and very expensive for what turned out to be a carvery. We had finished our main course by the time our wine arrived which wasn't even cold." (108954754)

    "Not impressed with check out as we were charged nearly £300 more than we were quoted when booking on line. This was eventually rectified by the receptionist but attitude was not very professional. Between that and staff at breakfast it spoiled our stay." (108564532)

    "We all really enjoyed our stay and felt we had stayed somewhere very special especially eating there for dinner as well. It was a very enjoyable experience all around and thought the special discount rates we recieved was wonderful we proberbly wouldnt have been able to stay otherwise." (107353448)

    Staff very helpful and polite, rooms clean and service in the retaraunt and quality of food served justified the prices paid.

    Windows in the bedroom had clouded effect stopping us from seeing outside also they wouldnt open but it still wasnt a big issue to be honest.

    Staff were very friendly and efficient. Had a nice meal in the restaurant in the evening, service was good. Great shower and also appreciated the business suite.

    Initially when checked in was given key to a room that still had occupants!! The plug in sink was broken. The gym attendant was particularly unfriendly.

    Very friendly staff and it's obvious that the hotel is trying to improve its decor etc. I would certainly stay again.

    A very small room with two 3ft single beds and the smallest bathroom I have ever seen, my colleague is 6ft 6" so you would think check-in would have noticed and perhaps offered a slightly larger room, even with a supplement.

    - Radiator in room did not work - Kids running up and down landing all the time very loudly with no supervision - Poor quality food eg dry sausages within the sausage and mash meal - Young bar staff not very courteous to their guests... focused more on cleaning rather than serving - Not a value for money hotel

    A lovely old hotel in a convenient position and also a nice bar area.

    The room was small and view from the window was of roofs/vents and a huge extractor fan, which was noisy at times. Noisy neighbours until the early hours.

    Nice looking hotel, good service & friendly staff, very nice breakfast.

    Originally we were put in a room for disabled users so didn't have a bath tub. Queried this and was given another room for our second night - no problem. Bar is small

    "While staff were of a generally good and friendly standard, they struggled at times to cope with general administration such as restaurant billing and final check-out. The hotel has a good traditional 'feel'with comfortable public rooms. Given there were several large groups staying over the weekend I was not sure staffing was adequate in either number or experience, although in the circumstances they did their best. At the discounted rate our stay was good value for money - although I would have been less impressed if we had come for a relaxing weekend at the full tariff!" (97610659)

    Television not working on two evenings due to fault in whole hotel. Bed uncomfortable due to use of two different types of bed bases. Location of our room overlooking service yard of hotel not ideal.

    Location of hotel. Well preserved facility.

    Lack of lighting in the room. Needs desk/table lamps. Pretty austere otherwise.

    "I'm sure this hotel was once an amazing place but it seems that there isn't the money about to keep it maintained to the highest standards.     Good sized room, nice bathroom, lovely building.

    Building is starting to feel tired and getting run down. Had to change rooms due to the locks on the windows being broken and possible access from the adjoining roof. Next room was the same but we managed to secure the windows using teaspoons! Strange musty smell in the bar.

    Excellent standard of room. Leisure facilities were great and the staff were extremely professional and friendly. We are a same sex couple and were treated as we would like.

    Toilet seat was broken, reported but not mended. No tea was left, only coffee - quickly rectified when reported though. No fruit left at breakfast both mornings.
